clumpyedge Posted January 15, 2019 Posted January 15, 2019 Necro-ing this as I have modded my S Thunder Launcher to auto open from pressing the chamber release... Drilled a small hole where I've put the arrow in the picture and installed a spring from a washing line peg which has enough push to open the chamber but not enough to miss-align the chamber from the firing pin. 5504CB70-9E66-4EB8-8859-548D74840F4F.MP4 Druid799 1

Supporters Rogerborg Posted January 17, 2019 Supporters Posted January 17, 2019 That's a nice job. I like the cord, but should note that I've never needed any extra retention on my Kydex holster for either a TRMR or a Dynatex. Shaping them round the BFG, then removing it and reheating so that the holster contracts slightly seem to work for me. Yours looks tacticooler though. Druid799 1

Not really it’s all in the preparation ! I made a couple of different shaped paper templates before I formed it so I had a pretty good idea where I was going before I made it . @RogerborgThe ones I make for TRMR’s don’t need the shockcord they hold fine , this one (my first attempt at a Dynatec) I’ve put the bungee on as with out it could ‘jump out’ if I’m hurling myself about but I still want to be able to deploy it as quick as possible so it’s just under enough tension to hold it in but not enough that I can’t pull it off easily and just pop the nade out . ? Supporters Rogerborg Posted January 17, 2019 Supporters Posted January 17, 2019 Hmm, thinking about it, mine may actually be too tight. It takes a good hard tug to... urgh, filth. I might slacken it off and try a bungie based solution - thanks for the idea. Which I shall claim as my own if it works. Druid799 1

Funny you say that but i lost a grenade last year due to a pretty shitty kydex holder from a popular place as well! Druid799 1

Nice, I'll be interested to see footage from the finished piece. Also to see how you got on with it/forgetting to allow space for it

I orginally went with the lemon bottles for the insert, which I am no longer using. The lemon bottles are 2.5, If I find a bottle that is slightly smaller may try that. BB bottles and water bottles seem a bit too big, could still work , but would need to be more carefull when filling mags/speedloaders. BB bottle seem to have smaller tops now so will be fine. I put some knee pads in my tiger stripe trousers. Stitching is a lot better than my previous attempts. Guest Posted July 22, 2019 Posted July 22, 2019 I had an FPG turn up today without a rear catch. Rare as rocking horse poo, I decided to have a go at making one. It’s not perfect, but I’m pretty pleased with the result this is the original The one in front is my copy And, again in front, installed
SgtTalbert Posted July 25, 2019 Posted July 25, 2019 Simple bit of DIY but I am happy with it. So with the TM FNX45 threaded barrel being 16mm CCW, I wasnt happy how with the 16>14 adaptor made it look with a Lighter S tracer. It felt too long and just ruined the look for me Sorry for Potato quality photos! Before After £1.50 worth of 32mm Black Push Pipe cut down to size and some sniper tape (which I will dirty up) - I think this looks much better. The tracer end cap is still unscrewable to get to the recharge and to turn it on, I just need to use an allen key to reach down (slide end) to press the button.
