Well I found another deal who supposedly has the G28 T1 mounts in stock, so I ordered three. One for my G28, one for my MP7, and one more cause why not.
Also had a bit of spare cash after the latest paycheck so I ordered the Wolverine Reaper mk2 Premium engine that I needed to be able to field the G28/417a2. Thats all the essentials, now its just accessories and such left to get. And, of course, I have to decide whether I want to put a UCS stock on it...
And finally I was going to get the standard VFC G28 case, but measuring it makes the gun only like 1mm shorter than the case, so I instead went with a much larger two-gun case so I can fit everything in the box.

Interesting. That may mean theres less to this than has been announced. If they havent dropped him immediately then it may be that things are grossly overstated and it may not be a huge deal compared to what everyone thinks.
Good news is that Ive seen very little in the news over him being an airsofter. A ton about him being a reenactor, but not an airsofter.

So Im all for a nice 9mm AK. Id be nice to see something other than the LCT. And, to be honest, I dont think the PRK-9 is as ugly as yall make it out to be. I actually like the bullet print mag, and I could see myself modifying one enough to keep the short barrel, add a zenitco stock, and essentially have a shorter variant of my LCT Vityaz. Plus it looks like they have a 9mm drum for it, which is also nice. But out of the box? Yea, not a fan.
@HuttArmouries Any idea what that sight is? Id love to get one if they dont cost too much for my Vityaz.

So Ill give some more information thats been gathered since Im US-based and have been following the release of information.
Apparently he loaded up in full kit including NODs, armor, everything. Wore his old SG patch from his time in the 82nd. Took an Uber to his brother-in-law's store to defend it from looters. Saw the NG unit nearby, and this is where information starts to vary. The NG unit claims he walked up to them and stated that he was a part of their unit. They were instantly suspicious as this guy has about 40 grand in better equipment than NG get, his rifle was out of regs, NG dont get handguns and he had a tricked out one, and it wasnt a G17 or M17. So they start asking him questions about the unit, their CO, etc and he cant answer any of them. So they talk him into handing over his guns and hand him off to a LAPD unit as they arent sure what to do with him.
Then it gets interesting. So as some of you might know, California has the most anal gun laws in the US. I wont get into Second Amendment rights and all that, but lets just say Cali does not like guns. And to own a firearm in Cali you have to adhere to a very strict set of requirements. You can not bring external parts into Cali, you can not modify guns, etc. Apparently Spartans AR was modified, had parts that were non-California compliant, and there have been people saying he had a "ghost" lower. This has been said to be several things, from a 3D printed lower, to a polymer lower with the serial number removed.
So what are the various crimes committed here? Well, impersonating servicemen is Stolen Valor and a federal offense. Modifying a firearm is a state offense. Open carry is a state offense. And an illegal lower is a federal offense. Current estimates on his sentence really vary. Depending on the court and plea deal he may very well get away with a monetary fine and lose his ability to own a firearm (this is a guarantee of anyone convicted of a federal offense). Or, he could see up to a $60000 fine and up to 10 years total jail time, assuming sentences are concurrent. Courts often take a bit of leniency on Vets, but as its California they may very well try to bury him under the jail.
Now on to things we do not know but are rumored. First off, after his arrest police raided his home and found evidence of his attempts to modify and sell illegal firearms. This has not been confirmed, and there are many who say they simply rolled up to his house, saw his gun wall of airsoft, and figured "well we got him big this time". It wouldn't be the first time people have been arrested over airsoft. If that is the case they will eventually be identified as such and wont matter. If he was indeed modifying firearms with intent to sell then we have a whole 'nother problem here. Second is the rumor that some guardsmen said something along the lines of "hey Wong, youre a cool cat, why dont you come down and hang out with use at the barricade". Again, no proof this happened, but Ive heard it mentioned by several sources. In the end it doesn't really change much as common sense should have told him that would be a bad idea, plus above modified weapons and open carry issues. If its true it might lead to those NGs getting a bit of trouble but nothing major.
In the end, however, it was a very stupid thing to do. Unfortunately even if everything is dropped and he doesn't serve any time, he will be dropped by every company he works with, and will essentially have to find a new line of work. The reenactment groups he frequented have already started moving away from him, theres no doubt Magpul and the other firearm companies he speaks for will drop him, and the airsoft companies may very well do the same. He will be losing all his firearms and right to own a firearm, so thats all gone too. As my guys over at "A Very Serious Airsoft Podcast" said - "the best case scenario is that he was just very stupid."

As my MP7 project is approaching completion - ok not really, but Im waiting for my blue PEQs to come back in stock - I decided to start on my 417a2/G28 project. Im sending my spare 417 short rail off to be cerakoted this coming week, and through various retailers managed to find the following:
3x VFC G28 T1 mounts/sunshades (confirmed to be a false listing, trying again on a different site)
4x tan G28 midcaps (confirmed to be a false listing)
A second G28 HK rail cover set (Confirmed to be a real listing)
KAC flip up irons (closest I could find to HK 417a2 irons) (confirmed to be a real listing)
(Once I get confirmation that these are all real offers I can send links to whoever needs them - they list most parts for G28s and the like. Dont want to post until I confirm they are legit)
I also ordered a REVO kit (auto-aligning HPA mounting system that lets me use aftermarket triggers and microswitches instead of being forced to use G28 gearboxes, stock triggers, and stock trigger contacts). I will be putting a Wolverine Reaper Gen II in it, but I have to wait until next paycheck to order that. I figured I would order the custom things first since they will take awhile - I can have the Reaper here in 4 days after ordering.
Looking forward to putting the finishing touches on my German kit with these guns. In the end I will be able to choose between my TM MP7a1 (yes, I am leaving it as an a1 for now, I can always convert it later. I cant go from a2 to a1 of course, so ima field it a few times and then reevaluate my decision), TM NGRS 416 Delta (the RAL one), the 417 (black), the 417a2 (RAL), or my G28 LE.

Picked up a few more things since my last post. It feels nice to have money again haha.
So to start - spare bipod as I never have enough, extra MP7 mag someone was selling secondhand for $5, FDE ladder covers for the MP7, a few patches, and a MCX grip for my custom MPX project. Unfortunately the seller neglected to say it was missing its motor height screw - if anyone has a MCX and can figure out the threading id be much appreciative.
Then, I have gotten confirmation that the sidearm for my Juggernaut kit was done being built and is on its way back to me - should be here Friday. Its a special Classic Army Nanogun I lovingly call "The Chode". I wont go into any more detail but yall are smart - you can figure it out. Pics will be posted when it arrives.
Then I got a good deal on a NVG recorder. Im unsure if its an ANVRS 3 like Mike's as its case has been removed and its been wired to an external battery pack for convenience. Should be fun.
Getting my Flecktarn Lindnerhof PC converted to First Spear Tubes as well, so thats nice.
Placed the order for the final parts of my VFC 417a2 build today.
Bought some dual comm Peltor Comtac IIIs. My TCI Liberator 2s are a PITA to switch between helmet and headband-mounted, and Ive wanted a dual-comm option for awhile now. I like my music, dont judge me.

Had that exact one myself. Externally it was great, internally it was decent. Maybe better than decent, but I sat on it for about a year then sold it when moving. Never really used it so I cant say other than it had a decent ROF and range.

So guys, I need y’alls opinions. So I have this MP7:
Now do I leave it as an a1 or convert it to an a2? If you’re unaware the process involves permanently removing the folding grip and replacing it with a rail. I did this to my GBB MP7. However the folding grip on this AEG variant is much sturdier, so I don’t necessarily have to convert it. Hence wanting opinions. To avoid filling the section with replies, just vote a1 with the “like” react and a2 with the “coolAF” react.

Anyway, had to go and get myself a birthday present. Flecktarn Crye pants and a custom cut Flecktarn short sleeve Crye Combat shirt are now ordered. Granted it’ll be like 4 months before I actually get them, but it’s not like I’ll be playing anytime soon...

Pics of the first two helmets are already posted in Loadouts. Ill post the third once the attachments are here. My NODs are also in the pic. My G28 you can see on my gunwall in Gun Pics in the top right. MP7 isnt here yet so no dice there; and the 417 isnt done so nogo there either. Everything else is either on its way or doesnt warrant a pic IMO. 😉

Oh my, where to begin. After selling almost a grand in BFGs and Marui guns (I forgot how in-demand those are stateside), and receiving my first paycheck since early March I went on a bit of a shopping spree. I guess I’ll list everything since then.
So to begin, guns. In late March (before I knew work was about to go away for awhile) I got a good deal on a VFC G28 LE, and an even better deal on a G28 with a cracked lower. I may try to repair the lower st some point, but it’s never going to be pretty. Instead, I had the idea to try to create a 417a2. So I have a G28 LE all decked out as a DMR, and a second upper set up as an a2 in a “Battle Rifle” configuration. I had to buy a short 417D rail and barrel, and I am in talks to get the rail cerakoted in RAL to finish the look. That’ll still take at least another month so I’m holding off on accessories until then, but I’ll likely end up with either a good ELCAN replica or Eotech XPS/G33 combo in tan/bronze. I’ll likely add a M600 light variant and a Magpul AFG, all also in bronze/FDE.
Next, I’ve been sitting here bored with not much spending money and a lot of time. Begin the painting projects. FreedomStencils had Partizan stencils in stock, and Amazon had plenty of spray paints, so I ordered what I needed and rattle-canned a half decent Fall Partizan camo on my spare Maska-1 for my Tanchanka loadout. I thought, huh that was fun, let’s do another. So a second order of stencils was placed, this time in Flecktarn. Now I made things difficult on myself with both these - there are tons of tutorials on how to stencil both Partizan and Flecktarn, but very little to nothing on their tan variants; Fall Partizan and Tropentarn. My and my mates have been slowly converting to Tropentarn from the Krypteks, but helmet covers are non existent. So I figured I’d paint my helmet in Tropentarn and get a tan cover. Best of both worlds. Figuring out the color scheme and order was difficult for both, though Tropentarn has only three colors so that was fine. Spray paint helmet #2 was done, and turned out loads better than helmet #1. Pictures of both have been posted in Loadout Pics.
So back to no job and a lot of free time. Well, stencils are fun, let’s do a third project. If I’m running Tropentarn then why shouldn’t I run Flecktarn as well as my green side. First, I don’t really have a good green PC. My Protech Titan Assault vest is amazing, but it’s tan. I got a good deal on a Flecktarn PC CRYE cut. While the smaller JPC style isn’t my thing, I can work with it. Next comes the helmet. Flecktarn covers do exist for FASTs, but my big head and Chinese FAST replicas don’t agree with each other, so I have since moved to the vastly superior MTEK Flux line of helmets. I was lucky to snag a pre-production model last January and it’s been my only helmet since - it’s so nice. But that helmet is now Tropentarn, so I can’t do that in Flecktarn... Well, luckily the Flux line only just released a few months ago, so time to order a green Flux. I threw some other things in with the order including some HPA grip lines. Luckily I ordered a 6-sheet set of Flecktarn stencils but only used two for my Tropentarn helmet, so I had exactly enough to attempt a Flecktarn paintjob as well. After some paint ordering fiascos (I now have 6 shades of green, 3 grey, two tan, and three brown) I finally decided on a color combination I agreed with. Begin painting. It turned out well - better than the Fall Partizan despite being one color more, but not as good as the Tropentarn. I’m not entirely happy with it - the mix of black, rust, and grey in Flecktarn combined with the black Velcro, NVG amount, and rails makes it a bit difficult to tell the helmet is a green camo. This brings me to my next and most recent purchase (I’m doing these in order of project, not necessarily order date). I’ve always ran comms at MilSims, and through work i have access to a good set of TCI Liberator II ear pro, with a mic. However the band is difficult to use inside a helmet so I need a helmet mount. The Flux uses Mlok rails instead of the Crye style, so i needed MARK attachments. I have some for my tan helmet, but I was placing an order with TNVC anyway so I ordered some in black for my green helmet. I also learned why I’ve never gotten my Libs to work on my helmet - they need an adapter called a SERA adapter to work. So add those to the cart. They’re sold out most places though TNVC had them in a tan four pack. Oh well, I might paint two of them black to match my other helmet. Now as some of you know i run NODs. Usually that’s a gen 3 PVS-7, though i do also have a single PVS-14 and a FLIR thermal monocle I can use. All these make helmets front heavy, so i meed counterweights. The FLIR and PVS-14 I can get away with only using one counterweight, but the PVS-7s are bigger and bulkier and require two. My tan helmet has a CRYE counterweight system and an EOD counterweight. If it’s broke don’t fix it, so add one of each of those in OD to the cart and place the order. Those will be here soon and then I have a decision to make. If the OD pouches + the Flecktarn are enough to ID the helmet with my Flecktarn kit as green then the helmet is done. If not, then I will paint the side rails and NVG mount OD as well. I’d rather not as I have a black FLUX cover for indoor use with my Kryptek Typhon loadout, and is like that to stay all black. We will see when that all arrives.
Next is my minigun. No, not microgun. I do have a M134 minigun I use for Juggernaut games, and I may mount it on a technical some guys I run with use. However it’s hop rubber system is decayed and needs replaced. After failing to get Classic Army to help me I did some work myself and ordered 1.5mm rubber rods from McMasterCarr. Only cost $.58 a foot, so that was easy. Hopefully that will fix my minigun problem and get the massive thing off my work table.
Onto to my MPX. Yes, MPX. I have one, it’s a ground up build. I’ve been after a MCX AEG grip for months to finish the build, and I finally found one off HopUp. Check that project off the list once it arrives.
Since we are moving to German kits I need German patches right? So I ordered some. Some subdued German flags, some custom US/German flag hybrids in tan and Tropentarn, some miscellaneous patches, you know how it goes. Next came an order I placed back in March; a LeoKochler Combat Shirt in Tropentarn. I found one in stock in Germany, but only one. So sad. That finally arrived and is so much better than the thick BDUs I have. My custom Crye-cut Combat Pants also arrived. Took months, but they look and fell exactly like a Crye so I’m happy. Add a Tropentarn neck tube thing and I’m about done.
Then I picked up a nice NVG recorder. I’ve always wanted to film some night shoots, so that’ll be fun.
Next I got a great deal out of nowhere yesterday - a guy was selling a Krytac LMG complete upper, two box mags, and a complete upgraded barrel setup for about 150 quid. Couldn’t pass that up. Even if I end up reselling it later on, it was too cheap to pass up.
Final thing, I swear. Since I had some spending money after selling all those BFGs I finally got a gun I’ve been after for years. A Bingo MP7. I have big plans for this thought i wont reveal them yet. So I bought the gun, 6 long mags, two short mags, another random long mag, tan rail covers and a Magpul RVG, an Acetech AT2000 for inside the Angry Gun suppressor (came hollow), an Odin MP7 adapter, and a tan HOA line and that project is on hold for now. It’ll be a real beaut once it’s done, but like the 417a2 it’ll be a bit.

I could always take some. Ive done one of my Maska-1s in a Fall Partizan scheme for a Russian loadout, and I am currently gathering supplies to paint my two MTEK Fluxs in Tropentarn and Flektarn. Unfortunately I ordered some incorrect colors so I wont be starting those today like I planned, but oh well. The Maska-1 was my first time doing a true camo pattern with stencils, so it certainly didn't turn out perfect. However it is close enough to the patter to not matter. I should have spread out the stencils a bit more - hopefully I do better on the German helmets. Also my basement has very soft, yellow lights so my pics do tend to be a bit different than they appear IRL. I will post a full uniform pic in a few days with the helmet. Hey all,
One of my VTGs has unfortunately failed. Looks like the spring and pin that hold the firing pin down have managed to wiggle out and are now exploring the wilderness. I tried emailing SWAT but have heard nothing back - its been about three weeks. Anyone know who else I can try to contact?
