  1. I was in a rush one afternoon and needed a torch for an indoor game in the pich black so popped into Wilkos to get one of those cheap rubber £3 jobbies. While there I found this:

The torch is metal with a three mode click (and momentary) switch base cap, bright, less bright and strobe, takes x3AAA batteries. Its amazingly bright! in comparison to my Surefire clone its a much better light source, a bit bigger and batteries don't last as long but are cheaper to replace.

In all honesty for the price, the availability on the highstreet and its output this is the only airsoft torch I would buy again, it really is that good.

I cable tied it onto my rail the first time, some players tape them on, now I have it mounted to one of these on my shotty.

  2. the ZCI gearbox that ak2m4 sells has a not quite as slow as normal change system.

EFA, it's a massive improvement to a normal v2, but still needs the gearbox and motor to be completely removed from the receiver.

  3. Yes they are very good. If you are in the market for a new hop up than this should be at the top of the shortlist. If your hop up isn't underperforming then there is almost no reason to upgrade a working hopup for a prowin. They are essentially mechanically the same, just tighter tolerance due to the cnc manufacture, although that is not exclusive to prowin, bulkier build to brace against the receiver which has negligible real world effect: And have the dial system which IME isn't as good as people jism about it, mine is very loose and has to be readjusted more frequently than any lever arms I have had.

What i will say for it is that my old hp up was propper pants. FUBAR i believe is the correct term. A simple drop in Prowin for £23 and FPS shot up by 40fps with the same bucking, and trajectory and consistency was astounding.

However the tight tolerances may cause a few issues, they my need a little fettling to fit into some receivers, I had to take a few passes over a rasp to fit it in my G&P receiver, which obviously removed the iconic blue.

and be careful with very soft buckings, my maple leaf 65 tore trying to remove it, and forget trying to seal the rubber with ptfe tape, it simply wont fit in. but the machining seems to give a very good natural seal anyway.

TLDR: I would certainly buy another one, but I wouldn't replace a working hop up with one.

  4. Using 5.56 is the entire reason the term DMRs exist, if your going to use a 7.62 accurately out past 400m you may as well just take a bolt action rifle. a soldiers 5.56 weapon will do everything else up and possibly past, that range.

In close built up areas such as Iraq, a full length "long" rifle is rarely an efficient weapon.

The mk12 replaces both the BAR and and gives a sniper ranged shots as well as the ability to clear building, suppress with full auto and generally operate as a forward infantry member without having to lug multiple guns.

  5. Bit harsh, yes it's a bummer for us, but at the end of the day it IS H&K's intellectual property so why shouldn't they want to control who should be profiting from it, the same as every other industry does. See Samsung vs apple for an example.

Glock did the same to 'Murica years ago to the point they had to cut up the trades on the box externals for any that were imported.

  6. He is the only person who can truly answer that question, will he have the stamina to hold and play over the course of the day? Even if he doesn't for the full game, there is always the safe zone he can go back to and chill for a bit.

There should be no restrictions from an organiser point of view, so long as he is not wheel chair bound as obviously that could cause complications for woodland, (but not entirely excludatory)

We have a few members with chronic muscular pains who may be in a better position to advise, but he should go for it, give it a game on a rental gun and see how he feels.

It's his condition, so he should be the one that decides his own limitations not the organiser.

  7. Other than boost your FPS ever so slightly, (maybe 5 to 10fps tops,) it will make zero difference to your accuracy.

The most inaccurate part of a pistol is the user.

If yours still think you need a new barrel it will take any standard aeg style barrel IIRC it's 95mm a lot of the Chinese shops have some. Try wgc.

The bb rolling out is because the hop up isn't gripping it, make sure the adjustment arm little lever is in the right slot, not the tapered one, the other one.

  8. As a general rule, yes that is certainly true, there are a LOT of very expensive gucci combat boots, not all of which are any better than some cheaper alternatives.

The 'Muricans LOVE gucci kit and while deployed have a good chunk of spare cash to splash on gucci tac kit, as a result over the last decade almost every main brand shoe maker has dabbled into the tac boot market knowing that the grunts will snap them up like aunt mabel's hot pie.

Converse is a great example, they make brilliant court shoes, but they don't know how to make a proper tac boot, they are nice and light and comfy, great for hanging around bastion, not so great for trekking through the mountains or on an extended patrol.

A £30 pair of surplus issue boots that have already been worn in are certainly going to be good enough for the twice a month casual romp in the woods that is airsoft. But try to buy them in store instead of online, try them on and see what they are like and to get the right size.
