  1. It's three games in no less than 2 months. So on the 56th day your name can be added to the database and you can buy a "RIF"

If you are to play at a regular site that has an affiliation with a shop, ie patrol base, zero one, JD et al. They may have annarrangement where you may purchase the gun but they hold it on site for 56 days. But obviously you are limited to only that site.

In reality it's only two months, save some pocket money and rent a gun till you have a UKARA.

  2. Coolies, what motors do you recommend? Ideally sub £20, but would rather pay for something better if I need to.

Shiming is definitely likely to be out as I did it myself and I haven't got a clue. Can you point me towards any decent guides or videos? Most of the ones on you tube don't actually talk you though how to shim, just show you what a shimmed gear should look like.

  3. What battery are you running? I had a ROF increase by fitting deans instead of the tamiya. I was very dubious about deans but it worked quite well. I yesterday fitted a 9.6v nimh and that increased the ROF again. It was a quick, simple and cheap fix.

  4. Don't buy bolle or any other safety gear from eBay. You have no way to ensure they are not counterfeit. I just bought some bolle silium for non skirmish shooting, they arrived in a cheap polythene bag, no cloth bag, poorly painted frames, non polished lense edges and they got the safety markings wrong on the lense. They are clearly counterfeit, when you place them next to my genuine trackers.

Buy glasses from legit retailers and places that you can verify. You only have one set of eyes, don't fluff them up for the sake of saving £5.

  5. Oh and on the nitromors point. Avoid! It's intended for stripping paint of much larger industrial things. I wouldn't want it on any pot metal airsoft parts when fairy will do the job.

It's nasty stuff and can do a lot of inadvertent damage, and can cause an issue for painting afterwards. You have to ensure it's completely removed from all nooks and crannies before painting. It also strips right back to metal meaning you have to start from starch preparing, sanding, priming and sanding before you can even look at a paint tin.

Personally nitro morse is reserved only for high quality metals that are to be mirror polished or powder coated.

Stick to fairy spray, it's good enough.

  6. Krylon can be picked up in the Range for £7. They usually have a pretty good stock of all colours and clear coats, including camos.

Also Homebase are selling fairy power spray for £2.50 a bottle at the moment.

I don't really want to be "that" guy, but .... If you don't know where to even buy this stuff are you sure you want to be messing with it on your gun? I mean do you know how to strip your gun down and reassemble as not to fill the trigger full of paint? And do you know about what and where to re lube once it's all been done? Do you know how to paint? It's not as simple as brush painting to get a satisfying finish.

There is a lot that can go wrong if you don't do the job properly and I don't want to see you fluff up your gun because you ran in blind and naive. Get on you tubes and figure out a plan before you even buy anything.
