  1. Recommendations: Decent eye pro Decent boots Gloves Cheap poncho for when it pisses it down Quality BBs I am a tinkerer by nature, but even I leave rifs alone until something breaks or a well tested mod is easy to carry out and has proven results on that particular gun, AND which achieves a definite performance aim. Go and enjoy yourself. If you say where you are, perhaps someone on here can meet up with you on site and lead you astray into a life of wasting serious money playing with toy guns, sorry, ;show you the ropes.;
  2. I was about to pop a case of cloudy cider into my trolley this evening.  I thought I'd treat myself for Crimbo.  I then remembered the weight adding properties of the stuff, and that any added belly fat would mean that my winter Russian loadout would be too tight.

Can't decide whether I should be proud of the self control, or saddened by the reach of my obsession with running about with toy pews at my bloody age...

Enjoying an isotonic sports scotch in consolation.

After todays shenanigans I caved in.

Two pints in, and definitely  avoiding E-Bays various rus kit sellers for the rest of the evening.

Well underneath our tree sits a box 📦 about the size of an old gallon petrol can.

It say fragile, glass. When shaken its obviously liquid.

Upon further investigation 🔎 I have seen a label underneath which says in very small letters 'Bristol cider company'. Aha! A clue 🤔

I don't think she would get me a gallon of petrol, not a todays prices so putting two and two together I'm pretty sure it's cider. However, with it being from Bristol which I believe is the home of west country cider, its gonna be strong and possibly still cider.

I'm a fizzy cider type of animal.

So I'm either gonna hate it,which won't be well recieved, or I'm gonna love it and get smashed off my head 🙃 which also won't be well recieved.

Damed if I do and damed if I don't 😅😅

      Merry Christmas 🎅 🎄

That stuff goes off in a couple of hours once opened.  If it's a flagon you'll have to drink the lot in one sitting.

Tell everyone that it would be damned ungrateful to let it spoil...   😉

  3. A group of us went through a phase of playing with them. Upgraded oil pumps, Amal carbs, Brit pistons, bigends and valves set in new seats as they often leaked from new. Converting the 350 to 500 was easy IIRC. My uncle had a genuine 1940s example, teles but still rigid. Not many people think that fettling a bike, car or rifle is an essential part of enjoying ownership. I think that's the sector of the market that TM aim for.
  4. I resisted saying the same as I must sound like a scratched record, but 100%.
  5. Coonen Watts and Stone source about 95% of UK issue kit from China, so decent cloth isn't a problem, and even the cheapest Kombat UK stuff gets the colour shades right (and that's just generic Chinese cheapies with a label specified in the UK). If S95 or whatever is specified there's material around. As for Russian Kukla DPM, that's made in more than one shade in three or four different versions. At least one is very close to a UK pattern. No real excuse IMO, hope Allen gets some recompense.
  6. Never heard of a tailor using completely faded material before. 'Here we go Sir, it's a beautifully crafted suit of completely knackered Worstead. ' Plenty of reasonable DPM available from China surely?
  7. Not seen the funky Indonesian stuff before. There are loads more starting with hand painted Dennison smocks in WWII to all of the Indian/Nepalese etc patterns. DPM, flecktarn and lizard are a minefield, there are loads of designs.
  8. Some one told me that Mike Nesmith had died. I didn't believe them. But then I saw the news. Now he's a cadaver.
  9. Perfect DMR platform. Great out of the box usually.
  10. Do you mind me asking what it is that you're after? There is physical stock that may not be listed online. Someone may have a lead on what you want here in the UK already.
  11. My sister just cited Godwin's law as we argued. I did compare her to Hitler, but only to persuade her to shave that silly little 'tache off.
  12. I have bought mags etc. from them. Good experience the two times that I used them.
  13. My CYMA AK mags dont fit a friends LCT. The thin lip on the LCT mags are prone to chipping. I believe that you can file to fit IIRC, but if you try it, use sandpaper rather than a file as a smidgen too much and they will be loose as hell. The CYMA mags leave the factory a trifle too thick for CYMAs sometimes. Couple of strokes of an emery board is sometimes required. If the spring in CYMA AKs mag release was a bit stronger, I wouldn't know as much about borrowing/fitting/bodging mags to fit tbh...
  14. Just fitted a rotary hop to (one of my rapidly breeding) G&G M 4s.  ML and Omega. HT SHS motor and some cosmetics/ergonomics.

The air seal seams fine judging by the consistency.  Think I'll leave it there until it's time of the rattle can.  The rest of the goodies can stay in their boxes for another rif.

  15. The ones I have seen fail have suffered from poor trigger contacts, feeding issues and inoperative hops. ZCI rotary may fix the second two for less than a tenner. Getting a reliable trigger may just be a case of soldering a better connection. Good luck if the OP keeps it, hope you get lucky.
  16. No you're not forgiven. You have to walk Gaylord around the block in an I Love Kicking Mustang T-shirt.
  17. Thanks all. If it doesn't work out I'll bung it on the classifieds as a specialist limited edition M4 mag only rig for the M4 owning cognoscenti.
  18. My lad was caught out by one of these once. He waited too long to return it and ended up slinging the thing. Worst rif and worse customer 'service' he ever encountered. I wish that he had had the advice that you have received. Return the thing and buy a G&G Combat Machine or CYMA.
  19. I use an LMG. Proper suppressive fire does not need a massive rof. Causing a stream of plastic to whir past where someone may stick there head out is of dubious worth. You're better off rattling a longish slow burst into cover so that folk know there being covered in my experience. In airsoft milsims and filmsims the advantage is mag capacity and round amount loaded. No advantage in skirmishes.
  20. Scratching my head to think if this will take AK mags. Looks like a fairly passable copy of ANA Russian rig for about a fifth of the price.
  21. May not even be the rif. A shit balance charger can charge your batteries to all sort of random states of charge. Are you testing them on the same battery?
  22. The toy dog that always looked like it needed putting down...
  23. There is a click and forget Perun for G&Gs. It sounds exactly what you are looking for. There may be better options, I am not really knowledgeable about them tbh. I went for the Perun for its simplicity and ease of use. I do use Gate Nanos in a couple of rifs, they work well as a simple 'fet. I don't know about wiring one to your loom.
  24. Those G&G fets are so unreliable it's impossible to say when they actually went. As for paypal, any mention of the word gun and you're sunk. Airsoft toy - fine. Airsoft gun - evil death device.
