  1. Merry Christmas all you flingers of plastic.

Let's hope that the airsoft Santa brings all that you desire.

  2. Not exactly exciting, but I bought an AK sling from Ant Supplies. I must have a silly number as I put one on each rif, even the Imperialist ones. The leather tabs always need a good soak in leather food, but then I expect them to be as long lived as my 1940's Mosin sling. However... this one has a new 'leatherette' style of tab which is thin and lacks grip around the stud. The canvas is thinner and flatter, and the buckle is now ridiculously oversized as a consequence. Shame as these have always been a real bargain.
  3. The PPSh has a fearsome rate of fire, at 1250 rpm. That's 20.8 per second. Sounds about right for airsoft to me too tbh.
  4. I like the way that you're thinking Loki. Far too easy to chuck money on Gucci kit and sell it for a loss when you realise that it isn't what you really want.
  5. The 4th July 2021 was also the start of a five day test match attended by 17,500 people; most of whom travelled hundreds of miles to get there. The initial Bristol protests were attended by around a 1,000 people, although the subsequent support protests were much larger. I Googled sports events on that date, but I could have chosen theatre re-openings or concerts or whatever.
  6. Pretty amused to see another load of drugs advertised on the site.  As if anyone on here would waste cash on drugs when there are toy guns to purchase.

No sane person would buy pills online from some random username. However, there are those do buy from shops with BB in the name, so you never know.

My first garden plinker came from a site with BB in the name, worked fine until I connected a battery 😂

Normally I’d agree but can’t complain I just bought a pistol from a business with ‘BB’ in its name(only place that had it)and I had to have it two tone as that’s all they had in stock . Site picture it had a blue slide but on delivery it only had blue grip panels ! Result for me !

  7. Police knocked on my door this evening. 'Where were you between four and six?' they asked. 'Primary school,' I promptly answered. Seriously, what a waste of public money!
  8. Exactly. Highly unfair to have a pop at someone who would have struggled to overshoot anyone even if they had tried. Seeing the kit someone uses and making assumptions is daft.
  9. Sorry for laughing @TheNotoriousLoki , but I seriously do know what you mean mate. I swore really badly in front of a bunch of kids, much to my shame. The marshal laughed off my apology, saying that under the circumstances he quite understood! These all seem to come out of the same factory. I get a pair of the cheapest that E-Bay comes up with every few years, not that the inners have much meat left.
  10. I saw a chap running HPA get a right bollicking for overshooting people. When the marshal walked off, having not allowed him a word in edge ways, he showed me that his home built space rifle thing was semi only... He stuck his bottom lip out and said that he liked to tinker with HPA, but that you tended to be blamed for other players behaviour. Anyhow, if a rate of fire doesn't allow for not overshooting players, and we are not supposed to overshoot players then fielding the thing is plain silly.
  11. Did the same thing first game. Surprisingly painful on the mitts!
  12. I bought two 4 series AKs last week. They will remain virgins until I've ascertained that they are basically sound. Then ML and barrel and that's about it. Even their 3 series are pretty damn good these days.
  13. The AVL slid passed my radar. I feel yet another two wheeled project coming on. The last rh change bike I rode I nearly came a cropper on (ex-wife's ex-husbands B40) braking by mistake on snow. A lefty may be a safer big crobber all round. If you fitted a WL45 style Thompson scabbard to the military version AVL 500 you'd have pretty much the ultimate cool prop vehicle IMHO.
  14. Ordered this a couple of weeks ago. Big thanks to those who commented on my 'will this be suitable for AK mags' post. It easily takes two AK mags per pouch, with a weird divider in front of them that lies flat, but may accept an M4 mag. With smaller mags the flaps close further. There are two male studs per female stud that are mounted one above the other. There is also enough velcro to make the studs a bit superfluous tbh. The thing takes eight AK mags in total, which in real terms is about five over what you need, but it's semi-precision dressing up init. The mag sections are easy big enough for bag of BBs, speedloader and bottle of water, so the square side poaches won't get used. I may even glue them flat from the inside with weak water based glue. The space under the chest opening is cavernous if you are a sheet of cardboard. Might be useful for a section of old roll mat for sitting on. The quality is pretty good, no loose threads or weak looking corners, although the stitching is only single row with reinforced stress points, so I wouldn't fancy being carried/dragged by it. The buckles could grip the straps better but that's 90% of kit with polyester straps. Shoulder straps are not too generous, it may ride a bit high if you are built like a gorilla. I'll adjust it to my liking and tape the straps into place. The green one is similar in shade to a new British lightweight shirt, but shinier obvs. For less than £20 it's a decent enough ANA replica that's about a fifth of the price. It won't impress stitch counters but this is an annual couple of milsims, not reenactment. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/304117709117?var=603240124544
  15. Recommendations: Decent eye pro Decent boots Gloves Cheap poncho for when it pisses it down Quality BBs I am a tinkerer by nature, but even I leave rifs alone until something breaks or a well tested mod is easy to carry out and has proven results on that particular gun, AND which achieves a definite performance aim. Go and enjoy yourself. If you say where you are, perhaps someone on here can meet up with you on site and lead you astray into a life of wasting serious money playing with toy guns, sorry, ;show you the ropes.;
  16. I was about to pop a case of cloudy cider into my trolley this evening.  I thought I'd treat myself for Crimbo.  I then remembered the weight adding properties of the stuff, and that any added belly fat would mean that my winter Russian loadout would be too tight.

Can't decide whether I should be proud of the self control, or saddened by the reach of my obsession with running about with toy pews at my bloody age...

Enjoying an isotonic sports scotch in consolation.

After todays shenanigans I caved in.

Two pints in, and definitely  avoiding E-Bays various rus kit sellers for the rest of the evening.

Well underneath our tree sits a box 📦 about the size of an old gallon petrol can.

It say fragile, glass. When shaken its obviously liquid.

Upon further investigation 🔎 I have seen a label underneath which says in very small letters 'Bristol cider company'. Aha! A clue 🤔

I don't think she would get me a gallon of petrol, not a todays prices so putting two and two together I'm pretty sure it's cider. However, with it being from Bristol which I believe is the home of west country cider, its gonna be strong and possibly still cider.

I'm a fizzy cider type of animal.

So I'm either gonna hate it,which won't be well recieved, or I'm gonna love it and get smashed off my head 🙃 which also won't be well recieved.

Damed if I do and damed if I don't 😅😅

      Merry Christmas 🎅 🎄

That stuff goes off in a couple of hours once opened.  If it's a flagon you'll have to drink the lot in one sitting.

Tell everyone that it would be damned ungrateful to let it spoil...   😉

  17. A group of us went through a phase of playing with them. Upgraded oil pumps, Amal carbs, Brit pistons, bigends and valves set in new seats as they often leaked from new. Converting the 350 to 500 was easy IIRC. My uncle had a genuine 1940s example, teles but still rigid. Not many people think that fettling a bike, car or rifle is an essential part of enjoying ownership. I think that's the sector of the market that TM aim for.
  18. I resisted saying the same as I must sound like a scratched record, but 100%.
  19. Coonen Watts and Stone source about 95% of UK issue kit from China, so decent cloth isn't a problem, and even the cheapest Kombat UK stuff gets the colour shades right (and that's just generic Chinese cheapies with a label specified in the UK). If S95 or whatever is specified there's material around. As for Russian Kukla DPM, that's made in more than one shade in three or four different versions. At least one is very close to a UK pattern. No real excuse IMO, hope Allen gets some recompense.
  20. Never heard of a tailor using completely faded material before. 'Here we go Sir, it's a beautifully crafted suit of completely knackered Worstead. ' Plenty of reasonable DPM available from China surely?
  21. Not seen the funky Indonesian stuff before. There are loads more starting with hand painted Dennison smocks in WWII to all of the Indian/Nepalese etc patterns. DPM, flecktarn and lizard are a minefield, there are loads of designs.
  22. Some one told me that Mike Nesmith had died. I didn't believe them. But then I saw the news. Now he's a cadaver.
  23. Perfect DMR platform. Great out of the box usually.
