  1. Realised last night that I'd ordered one back in March.
  2. Cheers mate! Looks genuinely interesting.
  3. Good review. What's the comb height like with that stock?
  4. On the piss 'till 2:30 and up for airsoft at sparrow's fart = easy. On the piss 'till 2:30 and up for work at sparrow's fart = just about impossible/get the missus to call in saying that you've got a bone in your leg.
  5. Funny old day today. Went for our usual run around Tuddenham for Filmsim, which is my favourite type of game tbh. We were assigned a chap who I have milsimed with in the past at cold war games. He certainly knew his stuff, and set out a clear game plan and assigned people tasks if they wished. The game was fairly simple and based on some console game I think. At least the kids all knew what the teams were supposed to be about any how. The standard of gameplay was brilliant, the scenarios well briefed, the marshalling was excellent (what little was required) and bar someone with the mother of plate carriers being truly oblivious to being hit, there were no problems at all. I loved sneaking through the scrub and finding the enemy, got some hilariously lucky shots through bushes and got some good long range shots walking the M4 in like a mortar. Having a contact lens fall out as I ran full pelt (lumbered quickish might be more accurate...) was weird. My shooting was well off with one eye seriously short sighted. What was strange was the lack of aggression on our team. Breakthroughs were unexploited, pushes fizzled out and a few times the three or four players that did push up were friendly fired. It didn't dampen the day for us at all, but I expect that it may have done if someone were ultra competitive. Odd as the onsite team were full of energy and the other side really enthused. Really glad I went despite the crap weather. Don't think I've ever had a bad day here tbh.
  6. I think my CYMA AK is cursed.   I've gone from loosing a mag each game to losing parts of the rifle.

The rear sight went the game before last, I've just noticed that the stock has sprung apart due to a lost screw.

    Something else to ignore tbh...

Just mooch around your local site when theyre cutting the grass.

It's 99% top covers but you might get lucky.

Good news, you can now legitimately wrap it in duct tape without being a poseur.

  7. Another thoroughly enjoyable weekend from Sierra Bravo airsoft.  Ran around like a loon for two days. Dressed like a PAVN officer.  Lost weight. Had fun.  Drank enough for five or six sensible men over 48 hours.  Burned through a muchly amount of BBs.  Took about 15 minutes to set up a shot that took out my son and a very close mate, whilst accompanied by close mate's son.  My back told me that support gunner role is contingent on fitness yet again.

All very satisfying.  Will do again.

The black pyjamas always win.  Go home Yankee!

  8. So...  I am half way up some bloody mountain that my Scottish wife has dragged me up.

As a boy from the flatlands of East Anglia I am sitting up reading as she sleeps in the tent, and The Man pulls up in 4x4.  He wants to know what the fuck we're doing...

If I am honest I would say that I am reading the replies to a thread on an airsoft forum that degenerated into a discussion about pissing on your boots.

I tell them that I am reading a few work emails before bed as this spot has 4G.

    Night night.

Kinda wish you'd went with honesty on this one, would make for a funny anecdote :P

We should look into a Scotch wife swap - mine has this on her pinboard.

Seriously, Why Can't I?: I love not camping...

  9. Get an Eaglemoss pocket watch for less than a fiver. Brilliant timepiece and bb proof in your pocket.
  10. Yep, a couple of 2L bottles of water in the hard respawn, and the one bottle on you is fine. The way I played Sunday, I got plenty of trips back to the hard respawn...
  11. Today started badly. The (forward wired) battery wire in my main M4 had been pushed back into the body of the rif under the gearbox and stopped the mag from locating when I tried to chrono. Since I was in a rush, I went to grab my spare M4, only to find the motor spinning away in the grip and not engaging at all. A bit of thinking sorted the wire out in rif number one, as looking at gnu two, I could see where it is supposed to run. Extremely simple two second fix but being late and flustered did not help. The rest of the day went fine. Good gameplay and lots of sneaking through the undergrowth bumping the other team and seeing who was fastest on the trigger, usually them tbh, as I misidentified a couple of people as friendlies! A team mate actually stand on me, much to his surprise, as I was sneaking up on a group of players, so at least my camo and fieldcraft must have been on point. No complicated storylines as ‘rona limits the group carrying etc, but I thoroughly enjoyed the gameplay despite some people moaning about non-hit taking. Marshals coped with the situation really well and had the correct words with a couple of lads. Lots of running, leaping and shouting followed. Several girls played today, which is nice to see. Cold sausages and salad for lunch since I am following the AFUK low carb diet… drank six litres of water in field. Seriously, I wonder how anyone gets by with a ’56 pattern bottle and bugger all else hydration wise. The site tech shimmed the motor on gnu two for nix as he is a diamond of a chap. I kind of wish that I’d made the effort to take a themed loadout, since a few people had done so, but my standard skirmish rig is pretty tried and tested and has evolved through the years. Went home drenched in sweat with two working guns, a big grin and a strong desire for a G&T. Good day out.
  12. Apparently, North Korea now has a missile that can hit New York. Frightening stuff. If it can make it there, it can make it anywhere.
  13. Had some new boxing gloves delivered today.  Got some new hand wraps too.

Got home from work at midnight and went out into the back garden all excited to do some heavy bag work with the new toys.  Got in about 2am, drenched in sweat, with not one neighbour complaining.

Given the bloody awful noise I made, I reckon that I can still visibly (and audibly) wallop things a fair old bit.

Seriously though, bloody good workout/cardio for airsoft if anyone's interested.  No matter how good webbing gets, you need upper body stamina for milsims.  Carrying an LMG/LSW needs strength over time.

Anyway, that's my excuse for tonight's antisocial behaviour.

My mum got me some boxing gloves one Christmas.

I said am I having boxing lessons then?

She said no,you're to wear them to bed to stop you abusing yourself! ?

Abuse? I never looked at it that way  ?

      Regards

  14. Must be secret squirrel level serious if the UKARA police can get involved!
  15. All stuff to consider in most places to think about it. Miles of farmland to play on, but it is still of course commercial/a business premises. Even playing in a private garden could be considered to have a responsible organiser I am thinking? I suppose to some extent it concerns what we are prepared not to do on our own property, due to the possibility of something going wrong.
  16. Four or five mates meeting up on land belonging to one of them, when the business is locked shut, and keeping well away from any machinery etc is fine I am sure. Airsoft in 18 acres of meadows and orchards in the middle of an isolated fen is hardly likely to raise much concern for anyone I hope.
  17. In contrast.... a lad I sometimes play informal games with at a local scrapyard ordered from TG just before they stopped shipping to the UK. No UKARA number yet straight to his door, much to my surprise. No requests for paperwork, no problem at all. Silly situation.
  18. Can't beat a nice green tea with pomegranate and a well jellied pork pie with chilli relish; cold water pastry hard and almost shiny until you bite it in the summer. Failing that a beef and onion pie slathered in Colman's mustard and HP sauce. Quick two fingers of sloe gin in the winter and you've had the breakfast of champions. You'll be ready to take the world on.
  19. For about four decades I was dead on 10 stone fighting weight, then injury (and enforced inaction) and age (sob) caught up and I ballooned. A high protein low carb no sugar diet has me back to normal(ish). Tonight I started back on the heavy bag... I'll be back in black in a few weeks. I feel far better now now as it is. Thoroughly agree Rogerborg!
  20. Sounds more like an episode of that Japanese game show Endurance than airsoft.
  21. Very true. I like to run as support gunner. I use a 7.4V lipo and chug through BBs. The gearbox etc is well up to higher speeds/voltages; but I don't see the need to send a solid plastic hose at the other team. Two or three round bursts that hit solid cover with a loud smack are usually better at keeping peoples heads down than spraying a solid wall at where their faces may appear. Even if suppressing, you can keep things sensible, sporting and friendly. TBH I usually run my rifleman rifles with the 'fet set to single or double tap and spam the trigger a couple of times if a burst is needed. Kinder to the gearbox than semi and all you need 95% of the time.
