  2. I got home from work last night to find these on the dining room table.... The previous owner gave up Airsoft years ago and was about to bin them all when a chance conversation about Airsoft led them to be dropped off at my house.... They're at least 15 years old and in need of some TLC but blimey. Day went from meh to WHOA!!!

Yeah, but if we think about it, impersonating a police officer and carrying an imitation firearm around in the open is nowhere near as bad as calling someone a stinky poopyhead on the internet. Ooooooh, there's some nice flashing blue lights outside my window. I wonder wha-...

    Stolen Kit!

I note that you didn’t answer my question. You cannot just make sweeping statements about the Met not being interested in recovering real firearms without being able to back them up. I do live in London. Your views about the police are not representative of what they actually do and the issues that they face on a daily basis. My eldest son’s partner is an officer in the Met and I also regularly deal with Met officers relating to a range of cases. They are not the Mayor’s personal army; they are regularly dealing with appalling situations and deserve the support of the population, rather than regurgitated nonsense.

    Stolen Kit!

Moral of the story is, don't leave expensive kit in your vehicles, theft from vehicles has been rife for decades, particularly in the big cities, blaming the current negative perception of policing is just a cop out, no pun intended, I've never heard of a vehicle being broken in to that didn't have something of interest visible to passing scrotes.

  8. The RIF I wanted so bad, that when I joined these forums 20+ years ago, my username was 'Bison Hunter' 😁. I got a custom made from a TM Beta Spetsnaz but it wasn't really skirmishable. Then I quit the hoppy and came back 15 years later to find that Bizons had basically been and gone... until Patrol Base got some stock in at the same time I got a work bonus. I've had it 3 weeks and decided I wanted to remove the stock completely and cover the exposure at the back. This required an adaptor that itself required some angle grinder attention. But now with the RK-3 grip, B-13 mount (both with funky Russian language on them), and PBS-1 can, it's almost my dream RIF. In lieu of a decent Kobra sight, I have a C More sight on the way, so the nasty one on here is a placeholder. First game on Sunday and I just can't wait! 😁

    What have you made?

Somewhat productive day in the SkunkWorks. Started off by modifying a silencer/tracer unit, wasn't so fond of the grooves in it and decided to copy the Specter one, but with 12 smaller flutes. Before: After turning the OD down, it was put in the rotary table and flutes were cut with an 8mm ball-nosed end mill. Bit of lousy paint.. And now it looks so much better. Very happy with the result. Next up was a silencer that i bought for my MP5K-PDW. It's some specific type that i didn't realise at the time, but that didn't matter. I made an insert that'd screw on to the threaded outer barrel, but go over the 3-lug QD and sit closer to the front sight block. Turned from 38mm ally, bored to clear the 3 lugs, threaded inside, with an external male thread to fit a tracer and hex flats milled too. It's secured to the outer body with a grub screw. Finished + fitted:

  14. This is a project my team has been building since may 2024, you can follow it's progress on Instagram @K42Killhouse We originally visited the site as they offered a 100m range you can book in lanes and just plink and dial in your rifle ect which was perfect for our team to just have a shoot and a catch up When the owner approached me and asked what additions he could add to the site in terms of airsoft I jokingly said "Build a killhouse" and then he said "OK" Shit, now we have to build a killhouse 😂 So since june/July 2024 we have been designing and chatting and gathering materials and on our weekends free have been building this between the 5 of us with some help from others occasionally We ran out beta test yesterday which involved Metal Ops and Titan Group who really enjoyed the day I need to add, this is Not a typical airsoft skirmish site nor is it a CQB arena, you CANNOT book a walk on spot The killhouse is a hire only facility where your team can hire it out in 3 hour slots or an all day slot to practice running drills, clearing rooms and scenarios, we say it's best to book in 10/12 people and you plan what you do with your time but we found it best to hone in your skills with your own team then the next ttine you rock up to a site you easily flow through buildings communicating with your team We also aim to also put on events in the future for companies to put on training days The costs are £150 for 3 hours for a team up to 10/12 people (£15 each) £400 for an 8 hour all day slot for a team of up to 10/12 people (£40 each) Please check out the Instagram page for build media and recent photos The site will progress, I aim to fill it with random furniture, build a kitchen, beedroms ect lv_0_20250427154537.mp4

    Stolen Kit!

How do you know that recovering real weapons is not on the Met’s agenda? Comparing the Met with the NKVD demonstrates a complete lack of knowledge of what the NKVD did and is utterly insulting to Met officers. The NKVD was responsible for a vast number of killings, along with torture and other crimes.

  18. So why would they say ex-army, and not ex-police? Just so we're all on the same page, none of this adds up and everyone thinks you're talking utter bollocks, in the follow-up thread that no-one asked for, after you got locked out of the first one. In the (unlikely) event any of it's true, don't do dumb shit like keeping RIFs in your car and rolling around with them day to day. That alone should be obvious. Someone who says they have 4 kids should be a little more sensible and responsible. 🙄

    Update on Stolen Kit

Pleased you got your rifle back, but confused as to why the plod would make a ridiculous comment like that. I would reopen comms with somebody at a higher level, because you can guarantee that Mr "redacted" would do his best to backpedal & deny giving you that advice, especially if your snatchback went pear shaped in some way, which sounds likely if these criminals are adept enough to hack in to vehicles. The fact you have the conversation recorded is great, but may still not be enough to stop you getting a criminal record if you go ahead with your plans.

  36. TBH everyone goes through the full plate carrier period, it's what's generally seen in the media in the various conflicts etc, but the truth is they're overkill for airsoft for so many reasons, & most players eventually see the light & switch to more suitable kit.

  39. It's entirely up to the site(s), you'll have to look into that. Some fire control systems actually let you program in a DMR delay to limit the rate of fire. There's a significant degree of trust involved in DMRs given the minimum engagement distance, and the potential for abusing them by spamming. One of my locals just disallows them completely (everything has to either be <1.2J or bolt action), and frankly I agree with them given how hard it is to marshal DMRs. HPA makes Baby Jesus cry.

    New to Airsoft Forums

Well been into Airsoft since before UKRA was even a thing. Took a bit of a brake around 2015 and got back into Airsoft over 3 nearly 4 years ago. Quite a few good changes in RIF quality and choice 😁 spent the last few years working on loadouts and RIFs deciding what I like and don't like. Tried lots of different roles from Sniper, DMR, Gunner and Rifleman. Been working with HPA and AEG. I like both platforms. Sniper and DMR not really my thing. But Gunner and Rifleman are more my thing. Not much else to say other I try to get out for a game day at lest once a week.

Hopefully that means if you had a preorder with impulse, you’ll get yours! secondly, don’t have photos to hand, but guarder have teased on Facebook they’ll be doing a gen5 G34 and G45 based off the gen5 mos platform 😍

  48. So bb's are not continuing to meaningfully accellerate once they've left the barrel. The velocity it has when it passes a chrono, is going to be the maximum it has. The joule creep thing is that for certain platforms, whilst heavier rounds result in lower velocity, its not proportional to the kinetic energy. The difference is in constant pressure versus constant energy systems. Lets say we have 2 cars at a drag strip, one heavier than the other. The first run, we give them limited fuel. The lighter car has enough it can drive flat out the whole time and run out of fuel right as he passes the line. But the heavier car wether he drives flat out and coasts the last few hundred yards, or drives gentle so he runs out as he crosses the line either way he's going to be moving slower. Thats your aeg, the fuel tank is your spring energy, you can fire a heavier round but it'll just go slower because the spring doesnt have any more to give. Second run, the cars have unlimited fuel. Your lighter car puts in the same time as before driving flat out till he passes the line. The heavier car however, well now he can drive flat out the whole time and unlike last time he doesn't have to coast the last few hundred yards and keeps flat out. His car is heavier so he doesnt finish faster than the light car (remember kinetic energy factors in mass), but he beats his previous pass even though he's had to burn more fuel to get there. This is your gbbr/hpa (at least the latter when tuned for heavier ammo), the gun during firing will just keep sending gas until the bb leaves the barrel, so if a heavier bb spends a bit longer in the barrel then it has more time to absorb the energy. In the case of lighter ammo, the unused "fuel" at the end of the race is the wasted gas that is still being supplied after the bb has left the barrel. This is why the ratio between the weights, or the length of the barrel (the drag strip in our analogy) is a factor in this too. A pistol barrel isnt going to creep as much as a dragonuv, and the jump from 0.2 to 0.3 wont be as big as the jump from 0.2 to 0.4. Limiting ammo weight is one way to lessen the effect, assuming people stick to it, but it aint as good as making sure that peoples pews, firing the ammo and settings they intend to use in-game, are within the acceptable limits.
