    S&T G36’s Retired?

First ones back order, second two aren’t in the UK. Perhaps the 2 minutes spent should have been used to read my post instead 😂

  2. Today was spent at my favourite site, Airsoft Plantation, which, as usual, was very busy, albeit with a rather higher percentage of new players than usual. I had three rifles/SMGs with me which I had been working on and wanted to test in the field. Having met up with a couple of chaps that I know and after going through the Sunday morning ritual of the safety brief, we set out for the first game. With two lives we had to prevent the dastardly Reds getting bombs into the three vehicles located in our charming country village. The bombs had to be carried to each of the three targets in an ammo tin. The Reds started on the fire break and could attack from all directions, having infinite regens on the fire break. I took up a position on the Main Street from where I could keep an eye on any attackers trying to work round via the border as well as those taking the direct route. Inevitably, they came from both directions, which resulted in some stiff firefights; after sending a decent number of them back to regen, I was hit and fell back to another location in the village, where the same story was repeated with some excellent play from both sides. Eventually, of course, they achieved all three objectives. A short break to reload followed. In the return leg, the group I was with set off directly for the Jurassic Park jeep, which we captured very rapidly; a bomber duly appeared and destroyed it. Moving on, we were held up for a while as we pushed into the village, but soon grabbed the first LandRover, which was also duly bombed. Another quick push sealed the fate of the second one in a time that was far faster than that of the Reds. However, our super elite bombers had made one fatal error; rather than transporting the bombs to each target in turn in the ammo tin, they had removed them from it and carried them individually; as this was deemed to have given us an unfair advantage, which it did, the Reds were deemed to have won over the two legs. After another break to reload, we set out for the next game, which involved us transporting extremely large bags of the finest Ganja from the comms shack in the village, which was also our regen site, to the site owner, who was on the far side of the mortar pits. Four players were designated as the lead gangsters; they could each gain a one minute reduction of the time taken by reaching the site owner and engaging him in a suitable gangsterish conversation. None of them managed to do this. The defenders had two lives with a 30m fallback to regen. We set off at a cracking pace, storming into the mortar pits and pushing the enemy back. I scored lots of hits and, before long, all of our Ganja had been delivered. This game was immediately turned around; taking up a position behind a berm as few yards into the mortar pits, our little group put up a stiff fight, sending many of our foes back to regen. Eventually, we were isolated and outflanked, so fell back and held out, preventing many of the attackers getting forward. The game timed out with them having only managed to get one Ganja bag to the site owner. After this, luncheon was served and we had an interesting conversation with two Americans who were visiting the site. Once everyone's hunger and thirst were slated, a two part game ensued. Attacking from the border, the Reds had to secure a stretcher from the village; this then had to be used to transport a player to the plane in the DEA base. Setting up at the front of the village, we had a fierce combat with the attackers, during which I was hit and fell back deeper into the village, where I was eventually hit again. While the game was reset for stage 2, I took up a position in the fort. Those of us there had fun with small attacking enemy groups before deciding that we were probably of more use at the DEA base. Pulling back, I was hit and fell back to regen, taking up a new position in the scrubland around the DEA base, from where we repulsed several attacks before the casualty was finally deposited in the plane. After a final break to reload, that game was turned around. It took us a while, and many walks back 30m to find someone upon whom to regen on my part, before we broke into the village. Using the dried up pond as a convenient concealed route, I spotted a ghillied sniper at some distance in the woods and, after a few shots, potted him, much to my delight. We soon had our casualty on the stretcher, following which our little group set off on a wide flanking manoeuvre to attack the DEA base from the far end of the site. This was part of a successful overall attack, which saw the wounded man deposited into the plane rather more rapidly than the Reds had managed. As usual at AP, it was a fun and challenging day of airsoft, with some excellent play. All of my newly worked on guns ran well, with the tiny DMP-9 having ridiculous range and accuracy at 1.05J; running the PPK20 on 30 round mags was rather interesting. Weapons used: WellPro PPK20 Double Eagle EK47 Double Eagle DMP-9 ASG XP18 Commander (CO2) I am on the left, about to regen a colleague.

On the one hand, to be expected, on the other hand most of the comments like "join the real army you walt" are either from anon accounts or will 99% come from fat kevins who failed selection as a raf cadet instructor, but spin endless dits down the local about how they 'were gonna join the paras' as they sip their piss lager.

  6. Just got home from what turned out to be a really great day at Worthing Airsoft. I had a rocky start when I gassed and magged up all my short MWS mags, went up to the range and... it was doing the same issue again where the bolt wasn't going all the way forward and venting the mag. I didn't bring my long mags (again), but this time it was a conscious decision since I had my Tanaka m24 with me, along with the 4 short magazines that I had upgraded last week. I was a little on edge, since it was experimental as I'd never run these upgraded magazines before, but the MWS magazines giving me problems was a blessing in disguise as the m24 performed absolutely flawlessly with the upgraded short mags. Once I got the power and hop dialled in, the three shots that I put through the chrono were 2.25J, 2.24J, 2.25J, which is unreasonably good for a gas bolt action, and I could feel that consistency through the day as I was hitting some lovely shots. First game was a warm up; king of the hill around one of the bases. Unfortunately, the base in question is a bit of a struggle with an MED, so I went to watch the flank and right as the game started, I spotted one of the enemy ghillies sprinting down the path trying to get in behind us before our team could get out onto the field proper. I pointed him out to my friend, who was using his Toxicant Sig Spear (the 6.8mm version) at 1.1J instead of as a DMR today. He started putting down fire on the sniper as I pushed up with my pistol. With some nice shots, my friend took that sniper out and I set up to watch him on his bleed out, just to make sure he didn't have any friends with him to medic him. Spent the game watching the flank, and it was a little uneventful but somebody had to do it! When we switched sides for the 2nd game, I saw the same ghillie crossing the path behind our spawn to once again get in behind our team. He pretty much crossed through our spawn and ducked into a bush just outside it, so I pointed that out to a marshall because that felt like it was really taking the piss. He was either shot or moved on, as he came out soon after. 3rd game took us all the way up to lunch. One of the marshalls was dressed as a chemist and both teams were looking for him. We had to grab him and escort him to one of the bases, but he was very uncooperative and was under instructions to make sure the game lasted until lunch by being a pain in the arse. He was roaming the bottom part of the site, which is basically impossible to negotiate an MED with so I stayed at the top. I wasn't expecting much, but a load of the enemy team kept on going to the checkpoint on the main path, but aiming to shoot people at a totally different angle to me and leaving themselves completely open to me, so me and my friend set up as sniper and spotter, staggered and on each side of the path in some cover and kept on picking people off down that path. I even had to refill some of my mags (they're only 10rds to be fair) because so many people kept walking into our crosshairs. The marshall definitely made it last until lunch, as he was only brought up to the top of the site right at the end. I got taken out for my first (and only) hit of the day with, you guessed it, a ghillie who went all the way around the edge of the site and then came in behind us. He did miss me point blank with his mk23, so I spun around to shoot him, but his follow up shots got me in the leg. I sprinted back to respawn, because it wasn't far, and then came out and took the ghillie out by aggressively pushing with my HK45. I've learned from experience that when a mk23 meets a GBB pistol in a gunfight, the GBB tends to come out on top and this was no different. This is why I carry a GBB instead of a mk23 as a sniper; that squishy trigger is absolutely awful. After lunch we played a game where each team had a small case that we had to get into one of the bases to collect a silver bar. Only the case-bearer was allowed in the base, nobody was allowed to shoot into or out of the base, and you weren't allowed to take cover on the base or in the immediate vicinity. I took one of my favoured spots watching the main path and it was a bloodbath. I lost track of just how many people I took out from that spot, even with some people not taking their hits. Fortunately, one of the guys who wasn't taking his hits I reported to the marshall, who went over to look and as he was heading over, I shot the guy in the arm; he looked like he was about to duck into cover, but saw the marshall coming down the path and then finally put his hand up. We then swapped sides and I wasn't confident as it's a lot harder to get good sight lines from the other side, but I found a disgusting little angle that is probably my best discovery since I found the spot that watches the path. I had to post shots through a small gap between a barricade and a tree, and there was some foliage partially in the way that did interfere with some of my shots, but I had a lovely little angle onto the obvious reinforcement path that most players were using to get back into the fight. There were so many ways to get around it, and my gap and sight line were so tiny, but I went undetected in my flannel shirt and managed to take so many reinforcing players out through this tiny gap. Last game of the day was a three base domination, but I couldn't play it that much. Me and my friend were trying to snipe a guy out of one of the bases, but then I heard a shot go past me. When the second shot went past me I looked back and saw one of the ghillies (again) shooting us in the back, though not too accurately. I pointed him out and moved back to watch around there, but it was really getting tiresome. Where he was originally was fine, but after I spotted him he moved further back, which put him pretty damn close to our spawn again, so I basically patrolled around the area just outside our spawn to keep watch for the ghillies. So all in all, it was a really good day after a rocky start with my MWS mags giving me issues, but that Tanaka m24 has cemented itself as my go-to bolt action sniper rifle now with how well it performed today. The marshalls were on top of any non-hit takers all day, so that wasn't really an issue as any time it was brought up they would go and check. The only issue was the sheer number of ghillies and how all of them were trying the same thing, sneaking around behind the enemy team to shoot them in the back with mk23s, or simply spawn-camping. I raised this at the end of the day with the marshalls, and one of the site owners said he's happy with people flanking, but not with going so close to the enemy team spawns. We'll see how that develops, but I'm confident the marshalls will keep an eye on it as they're pretty damn good. Outside of this I thoroughly enjoyed myself and all in all it was a really good day. Next game day I might actually wear some camo again, as I'm thinking of returning to my modern LBE setup after really enjoying my Vietnam setup, and a civvie loadout with an LBE just feels weird to me. LBEs feel a lot more long range reconnaissance than prepared civvie in civvie clothing, so the m81 camo might come back out for a proper LRRP loadout.

  8. Agree 1000%, some dodgy cnuts out there, remember seeing some mags, 3 I think ?, on ebay, but the way it had been written it read as if vaguely singular, so messaged the seller to confirm how many were in the auction ?. He replied all 3, I bid & won at a low price, sure enough he then tried to claim the auction was for one only. I pointed out I had his pm's stating 3, & should only 1 arrive, his feedback would be shite, & he'd be reported as a "non selling seller" (its an eBay thing lol). All 3 arrived 😁 Hope you gave him crap feedback, I'd have backed you if his ad had no mention of what's pictured but NOT included🤬

  10. https://www.usedairsoft.co.uk/rif-s/electric-powered/m4-airsoft-gun_i87023 I have to say this one. I'm sure the seller has been intentionally evasive about the brand & model to hide how low value all of the guns are. My money is on this being something like the Cyma CM.057 as all the other guns are lower-cost product. I doubt the gun is even worth £60, especially being a two-tone. EDIT: Punisher has the same suspicion I have on which gun it is.

Rebuilt an old S&T IDZ Stock to fit to my VFC after discovering a new one would cost £40+ from China. Also managed to fit an S&T "Enhanced" Gas Block to my standard VFC barrel meaning I don't need to take a gamble on Clutch Precisions shitty QC just for the sake of having a "correct" gas block. All that's left to do now is get the KA4 top rail to replace the plastic IDZ and then my VFC G36KA4 GBBR will be "done" (It never is done though, lets be real...)

  22. Don't forget to factor in the 'kewl' bits for a DMR... scope, bi-pod, and kit you'll need like a decent battery & charger, mags, BB's and kit to wear and carry mags etc... A lot of rif's are great out of the box so save upgrades until they're needed. Not sure about many other sites but my local site classes all rifs as select fire unless it's a bolt action and max fps for non bolt actions is 360 so your 450 fps might be an issue.
    1 point
  23. I built my AEG DMR around a used LCT G3 as I wanted a gun that looked like it should be a DMR so 7.62 or .308 but that was my choice. Original plan was to all out motor, mosfet etc etc but it really hasn’t needed it yet. Had a Maple Leaf 6.02 barrel and 4uantum hop and nub for accuracy and a modified (shorted) m130 spring to make it shoot exactly 450 fps on .2’s. Had the selector plate modified so it won’t go full auto. I have stuck to .32’s as I like to lay down fire and anything heavier gets significantly more expensive. Gun was £280 used and the mods were around £100 with a local tech. Not sure how long it will last without the motor and MOSFET but it’s great fun to shoot and very accurate. You will need to budget for a good secondary to cover the 25/30m MED.

  24. How much do you have in the bank? It could costs you around £100 or £1,000 depending upon how far you want to take it (just want to hit the DMR power limits with an AEG, build a great electric DMR, or maybe bite the bullet and just buy an MTW and go HPA). A simple spring swap will do this, however if you want accuracy at range and consistency (and an electric RIF that survives the punishment) you'll need to do more work. Unless you're playing milsim games your "DMR" does not have to look like a real steel / world one, use whatever platform you want that makes you happy (with the right setup an MK 23 pistol, or an AAP-01, could be classed as a "DMR").

  25. For what it's worth, I've had great experiences with Fire Support, especially with them stocking obscure parts that allowed me to keep some of my much older RIFs relevant today.
    1 point
  26. Whether it would be OK is a huge unknown. Some retailers swap out springs (and leave the original in the box) to keep them well below site and legal limits. With those that don't, the +10% variance out of the box puts you far too close for comfort in terms of failing a chrono test. The Krytac P90 has a quick-change spring so you can drop in a lower power spring easily. You won't need to remove the gearbox from the gun, let alone open its casing up. Just bear in mind that M*** springs are not completely standardised so you will see variance in muzzle energy between the M100 springs from different manufacturers. On top of that, the compression and air seal within the cylinder will have a big effect so working out the right spring isn't an exact science. M100, M95 or M90 springs may be suitable. Whichever spring you use, I would leave in some head room to account for very small differences between chrono test readings - it's all too easy to chase a limit then find yourself over it when you come to the chrono ahead of a game. The Krytac model is largely proprietary so if something mechanical or electrical goes wrong, you'll either be locked into Krytac's ecosystem with spare parts or you'll need some expensive tech work to get it back up and running. I would also suggest saving up for a chrono for peace of mind so you can go to a game with something you have a good idea will pass.
    1 point
  27. As with most Krytac stuff, you're paying a premium for the branding. That's not to say they're not good, however I would personally go for a TM P90+ or even the Novritsch P90 to be honest, £50 cheaper than the Krytac and has a bunch modifications pre-installed. However, the P90 is a unique replica to handle - I would suggest trying to get hands on with one before taking the plunge

  35. There is a great classifieds section with these forums, there is also an appraisals section if you need help with pricing. The rule of thumb is 60-70% of current retail price, + or - depending on condition for the same RIF you have to sell, accessories don't seem to add much value so it they are good-uns sell them seperately (60-70%) or sell with the rif. Take plenty of pics so buyers see what they're paying for, include pics of any damage/scratches etc too. Basically be realistic with what you want £££ for your kit as you can ask for any amount but you may need to be flexible with your prices with any offers you get.

  36. You'll have better luck selling each thing separately such as the AEG with the mags, Battle belt, Speed loaders etc. Whilst it's slower, the likelihood of somebody wanting everything you have at once is very, very, very slim. If you're selling here:

  39. yeah, the longer ones are the ones that fit the m700 mags. The shorter ones both don't fit well (so the striker wouldn't hit the button much if at all), and also the shorter ones don't fit the c-clip that holds the spring that makes sure the knocker resets. All in all, the short ones suck. I really do think it's an instance where they cloned, then changed stuff, since the longer, older ones fit flawlessly in my m700 mags, and the old conventional m700 wisdom was that you swapped out the plunger and the gas outlet spring with the G&G ones in the stock KJW 10rd mags because otherwise they were absolute shite. The short ones, which very much look like a newer product with how the packaging is, don't fit at all; both items have the same item ID (they're both listed as G-07-077), and the pictures on fire-support are of the older design (which threw me off when I received the short ones instead), so it's the same product, but different iterations / designs I think.

    Cringe in Airsoft

Marshals that try their hardest to be funny during briefings, meanwhile said briefing has gone on for 10+ minutes and everybody in the safe zone has already zoned out and stopped listening
    1 point
  43. Trying to single out the cringiest things in airsoft is a bit like pointing out the lemoniest part of a lemon. Still, the brief has been set so I’ll try… The Compensator. Desperately masculine, loud, edge-lord, every morale patch is practically peeling itself off it’s own Velcro to tell you, your mates, anyone near you, that this guy, this guy right here is not someone you want to mess with. Nevermind the fact that he’s playing with a toy gun, just because his boss talks down to him and his wife doesn’t respect him, YOU should know what you’re dealing with. Every sentence starts and ends with swearing and you’re gonna hear it, oh yes mate you will, no matter how far away from him you try to stand. Brought your young kids with for the day? Well this is a man’s game, it’s not his problem they hear grown up talk and he’ll just swear a bit louder to make sure they fuckin well do. Scene of crime officer. You cross his path, both bring guns to bear, your hits land milliseconds apart. It’s a trade, you can both be in and out of spawn in less than two minutes. Or so you think. Mr SOCO wants to stop you in your tracks, he hit you first he claims and before you can utter the first syllables of ‘yeah mate let’s just call it a trade’ he’s already describing to you moment by moment what just happened to prove, at length, that you are wrong. You walk away back to spawn. You think he’s still there, telling someone else who happened to stumble past him and who is now considering a BB to their own head just to get away. Clique-Ops. These guys showed up together, they’ve got squad patches and identical uniforms. You’ve not seen them speak to anyone else all day. You got lumped in with them to balance the numbers. ‘Alright?’ You offer as your opening gambit before the round starts. One of them glances shyly at you, the rest proceed to ‘mic check, mic check’ before continuing their conversation that excludes you. The klaxon goes, they make a beeline in the opposite direction to the objective whilst you resignedly set off to move a jerry can from one oil drum to another by yourself. You finish the round covered in BB welts and cuts. Your team has lost. You scored the only points. You see them back at the safe-zone celebrating how well they played.
