The marksmanship principles do translate directly into airsoft, just probably not in the way you imagine. Having the rifle butt in the shoulder is irrelevant - and not something that is dictated by the marksmanship principles. Indeed there are plenty of RS techniques that don't demand this, yet meet the principles for any particular application. With guns that are generally much lighter than the RS equivalent, and recoil that is non existent to negligible, the first two principles can be achieved rather easily, and without particular reference to more traditional positioning. The third principle (sight alignment) is clearly fundamental, but the fourth principle (shot release) is largely irrelevant, unless the gun is really being wildly waved around by the trigger pull. Factoring in the generally short airsoft ranges + inherent wild inaccuracy of our platform, fast trigger pulls will generally be better practice than a slow deliberate follow through after a shot - perhaps the exception being using a very well set up sniper rifle at the extremities of its range....

92.7% of airsofters will never touch a firearm. Airsoft and RS are so different, it doesn't matter as long as safety rules are being followed.

Having done a bunch of RS shooting and a lot of airsoft, there is definitely some stuff that translates over (breathing, manual of arms with GBBRs etc), but there's also a lot that very much doesn't translate over. And I always say this to people. There are a few instances where it helps to have a bolt action or DMR and I had one of those instances last game day where me and my friend were picking people off at 80m down a path with our DMRs by dropping shots onto them, while their 1.1J guns were falling well short of us. However, the vast, vast, vast majority of the time, an AEG will win the direct firefight with that bolt action or DMR because it's very easy to spray full auto at an angle and hit out to 70m+, while a bolt action or DMR is not a precision weapon in airsoft because smoothbore muskets firing spherical projectiles at less than 2.3J with a backspin to combat gravity is far from precision. Accuracy by volume is very, very applicable in airsoft. Especially with the magazine capacity of most AEGs and it's also why while I love filmsim, I dislike the rules when they say that everyone has to use RS capacity mags (and that's coming from me who basically only uses gas guns). Airsoft guns don't behave anything like real guns! A leaf won't really affect a .308 round from a real m24 that noticeably, but it will definitely affect the .48g BB coming out of my airsoft m24

Only exception IME is some zestier blowback setups, but even then they don't track to how real firearms recoil. (Zero muzzle flip, and are typically tuned to just throw the reciprocating mass back hard). Hell you can go as far as Koreans custom-machining tungsten parts with 600PSI input pressure to create something that rattles more than a real AR. (Mostly due to the complete lack of locking mechanism and just generally idiotic design). Plus you can make Airsoft guns as heavy or heavier than real ones, but it'll cost you.

  15. I know Colin's very fond of the ASG, I'm also very fond of the VFC Glocks, and just bought CO2 mags to go in them. Upgrades are plentiful, and just a barrel + bucking will give you a good improvement for very little money. Running an 18c full-auto on CO2 is great fun! Other than that i have a CO2 KWC/Umarex USP which i really like but there are no off the shelf upgrades and the trigger bar is a well-known weak point. Shoots really well and a strong sharp kick.

  16. A chap at our local site had one of the new SSP28s, with the little nov folding stock attached the other week, and let me have a go. To be fair, very impressive. Doesn't really do anything that the AAP can't do of course - but then 90% of my collection of guns doesn't do anything meaningfully different from the first 10% that I acquired. But that's not really the point is it! I've only got a couple of Novritsch items - an SSX 303, and one of the goggle fan things. Both are good bits of kit, that have been well thought out. Not spectacular, but good.

  18. Out of the box the Cyma M14 is a particularly slow cycling, noisy gun. Most new ish M4s are pretty quiet if you run them on an 11.1v battery and make sure you adjust the motor height properly.

  21. Personally, i'd splash the extra for the warfet. The merf i found to be dissappointing and finnicky (read impossible) to properly program. The warfet has more functionality (namely proper precocking) and the programming card is easy (if slow) to use. Edit: worth noting that the wiring requirements for the merf and warfet are identical, so the warfet wont be any harder to install/swap between pews.

  22. My first game day since breaking three bones in my ankle back on early January. The venue? Section 8 Airsoft. The weather? Appalling hot for we Scottish folk up here. In between managing to drink three litres of water and sweating it back out immediately, I had a grand time. Had to take the rough terrain at a walking pace, which it turned out isn't that much of an impediment really. I even managed to stay ahead of the usual Treehuggers, who glue themselves to a piece of cover after getting shot at and don't move for five solid minutes First time bringing out my VFC G3, which performed admirably, and my VFC AR, which uh, less so. The G3 was more than enough gun to carry the day and I got a couple of surprisingly distant hits with it. (The sheer joy of "suppressing" a guy hiding in foliage and seeing the hand go up. Very fun). The site marshals had a split schedule planned. In the morning they ran a few skirmishy games to get people moving. Typical attack/defend with swapping over, and a domination game across three locations. The site is really fun with a lot of variation in cover, height, topography, so it's easy to keep it interesting. The second half of the day was a crack at a longer, more narrative style game. This one had a couple of the issues these tend to have, a few too many rules not quite explained well enough for a wide variety of experience levels and playstyles. It was quite fun, but there's definite tweaks to be made to the rulesets. I trust them to run it well after some testing. Overall the marshalling was very good, and play in general was very good. My team were competent, my opponents slightly moreso, and only one guy really stood out as being cheeky. (He was promptly sent home). Plenty of good banter, just a really great day.

  25. Fair enough, about the tidying, I though it was a repost due to the timings, hadn't realised the ad had been dragged so much after so recent a posting. Not supposed to look or sound like a witch hunt but it was a reasoned accusation. This is information that I didn't have, my understanding or gdpr is from a hospitality point of view and there for a touch more black and white.

  26. As long as the information is freely given with the consent of the supplier and can be proved, for the purpose of verification - if the retailer then only confirms that the details are correct or not without sharing any other information, it's A-OK. Doing it for this purpose is an "Informal Subject Access Request by Third Party". Anyone can call up a retailer and do this, it's quite often why my sales on RIF's take so long, if everything isn't hunky dory, it's not happening.

  29. Highlight of my weekend game Was playing a fallback game, and was on the defending / retreating side I found myself a lovely little spot to hide in, and my intentions were to let the attacking team get past me and do them from behind All was going well until a sniper player literally crawled over me and used my rifle as a rest for his barrel to take a shot He shit himself when I knife killed him, then the whistle blew ?

    New OKP-7 Replica

That's a pricey price, what differentiates it from the spina OEM OKP-7 that begun manufacture recently? https://www.aliexpress.com/item/4001295123552.html The reason I ask is Spina doesn't have an amazing reputation for electronics, I've had a couple go kaputt within a few months now with no impacts or anything It's a shame as they OEM some of the weird optics choices like a half decent susat and G36 scope, but again the electronic stuff tends to fall short on their internal connections and that's quite a price difference

One thing I have to keep reminding myself with Airsoft is these aren't rs guns. Been watching a few YouTube videos of airsofters and it grinds my gears seeing so much poor marksmanship principles being practiced. Basic things like only the bottom of the but in the shoulder, snapping of the trigger and so on. I suppose this is why I've read a few times Airsoft can teach a few bad habits that on rs you wouldn't get away with and make you a bad shooter. But at the end of this everyone is having fun and I need to forget about my training and experience with rs so I'm not one to pull people down if I see bad practices on a site or video.

  32. @BigAl Any particular reason this was relisted as a new listing cutting out the questions that were on the previous ad? Just wondered as you seem to have access to the ukara database without being a retailer, Or You are a retailer posting on a private sellers site ....
