That's not really how self lubricating plastic works.

  13. Our sport's not exempt from the usual issues with brick & mortar shops unfortunately. I can see it becoming that the only physical shops will be the ones attached to sites that are only open on game days or ones with a big enough online presence that can subsidise the shop.

I think in some cases "self-lubricating" is a bit misleading, as they really mean "low friction". PTFE is a good example, it's very low friction and often described as self-lubricating but it's not like it has absorbed lubricant that can leak from it, it's just an inherently low friction/wear-resistant material. Acetal/Delrin is another example. I think Oilite was one of the first "true" self-lubricating materials, a porous bronze impregnated with oil for use as bushings and plain bearings.

This might explain it a bit https://readingplastic.com/self-lubricating-plastic/ To be honest it's all bit beyond my own personal ken, but it comes up quite a lot in the kind of work we do (automation, machine control etc).

In that case I'd be worried about the lubricating stuff leaving a residue inside the channel which can get transferred to the bbs next time the mag is filled causing problems with hop up

  27. I had to know. £190 gun + 5 x mid caps @ £13 = £255 + 2 x Nurple fire sticks @ £19 = £293 + Nurple burn-your-house-down charger @ £25 = £318 + AOMEKIE dot sight @ £30 = £348 So you're getting the strap, bag, vest, backpack, BBs ,and that rare, never-seen-before Zombie Outbreak Response Team patch literally for free. Bargain!

It won't be for fitment into the magwell but for the spring and follower inside it. I'd be assuming that only the seperate internal part of the mag, not it's shell, is made with the impregnated plastic.

A bandolier seems sensible and is probably a necessity. What about drop leg mag pouches as well? A couple on each leg would be useful.

  33. With their history, I'd start a claim or dispute now, don't wait until they go under again, get your money back now, & if they actually crack on building what you originally paid for, nothing to stop you reordering when they can prove they're in stock & ready to be shipped.

  36. 1st place out of 15 teams at yesterday's CQB tournament (not speedsoft).. An environment we are definitely not used to, but I guess breaching rooms and storming in like animals paid off. 5 objectives in 5 buildings with rooms, stairs, long hallways, people complimented on how much covering fire we laid down while advancing and how violent we were in pushing. Hit calling was good for the most part, only had one instance where I got taken out by a defender after hitting him repeatedly in the face (saw BBs bouncing off his eye pro) but hey, ref wasn't there to confirm so nothing I could do about it (crying about hit calling during tournaments usually ends badly with a ton of points lost). Another odd occurrence in the last objective, shot a guy from almost point blank in semi, as he turned around to shoot back at me I flicked to binary and well.. we traded.. let's just say he wasn't too happy about my gun's performance ?? Kit used: DSG speedwanker gun AAP01 (never used) F9 Ammo Hub FRV belt w/ DC holster Pentagon flat pack clone Really enjoyed how comfortable the drop stock is, coupled with the very low weight of the rifle. Also happy with battery efficiency on semi, used about 50% of a 7.4v 1800mAh 50/100c while firing about 2100 BBs (6x360) in semi/binary. Unfortunately my M600 repro torch decided to fuck itself almost instantly but I can't blame it, the thing soldiered through years of abuse and shit weather. I have an AliExpress OKW clone coming in now, thing is marketed as "tight spotlight beam". Overall a surprisingly fun day.

  38. I am not sure if anyone has bought it up already in here, as I am a new member. But my local site Red1 in Chislehurst SE London has recently closed due to some new council planning issues. It is however not the end for Red1, they have found an exits site not too far away at Ultimate Wargames. So hopefully anyone on here looking to play and have some banter with Jason, Howard, Rob and Johnathan (the usual suspects). They are all still operating nearby but now in a site about 8-10x larger than Chislehurst! They will still run their games every fortnight on Sundays only as before. 44. https://www.airsoft-hub.com/item/36429-fully-upgraded-double-eagle Our man is back with what he originally touted as an Ares Honey Badger and now realises it is a Double Eagle Honey Badger, as we suspected. Somehow, he still thinks it has £230+ worth of upgrades as he still wants £400 for a gun that's ~£170 at current retail. When he insists that it's been "fully upgraded" internally but he can't itemise the internal upgrades, how can he possibly inspire confidence that its internals are worth more than twice the original gun?

  45. Today I went to that curate's egg of a site, Splatoon in Essex. My main reason for going was to set up three newly acquired and upgraded guns on their well marked out and very clear 50m range. More about one of these later. With this done and the safety briefing out of the way, followed by the briefing for the first game, we set out to play fallback through the barrel yard, the barricades and the two parts of the container field; after the attackers had cleared each area, there was a reset before they could attack the next. As the defenders, we had one life in each area, while the attackers had infinite regens on a marshal. This was a reasonably hard fought game and we were slowly pushed out of the first two areas; after we had set up in the first half of the container field, the enemy began their assault on that. I was positioned in the pallet pile; four enemy players ran past me and positioned themselves on the back of a structure about 15-20m from me. I had a perfect line of sight to them and put a couple of rounds into each of them; two of them took the hits, while the other two turned around and returned fire! I had already shifted position and flicked to three round burst, which they took. Our defence collapsed pretty quickly in both parts of the container field; the attackers completed their mission in 42 minutes. When the game was turned around, our assault was noticeably slower; a few of us tried to keep the momentum going but most of the team seemed unwilling to press forward. We ran out of time after an hour, while we were still clearing the final area. By then, about half our team had already gone back to the safe zone; a few left at lunchtime. After lunch, we set off for a game called Smokes. Starting at opposite ends of the container field, each team had to collect three smoke grenades of their colour (purple for us and yellow for the other team) from a marshal who was at the far end of the site, bring them back and set them off in three locations in the container field. We split into two groups, one of which would get the smoke grenades, while the rest of us attempted to secure the locations; this resulted in some good fights, during which I got some lovely kills, including one from a couple of nicely aimed shots under a car. However, one enemy player located behind a door was blind firing around it by shoving his gun around the edge of it and firing wildly. A few of us shouted at him, pointing out that he was blind firing, but he persisted, so a few three round bursts aimed at his hand were deemed necessary. The enemy won this game 3-0. When we returned to the safe zone, more players disappeared. The final pair of games involved transporting a VIP in the form of a very large stuffed toy zebra from the lower end of the field to either of the helicopters in the container field. Our much diminished team made a decent attempt at preventing the enemy from doing so, but were overwhelmed while trying to split our limited resources defending two locations. When the game was reversed, we failed to break into the container field, while the chap carrying the VIP ran around in multiple directions. I got a number of nice kills on players in the upper levels of the container village and around some of the structures, but it was all somewhat frustrating. Thus ended a somewhat average day of airsoft. Weapons used: JG FN FAL (SA58) ASG XP18 Commander (CO2) Classic Army ISSC Mk22 (An Austrian designed .22 version of the SCAR, because clearly the world needs such a thing!): it only lasted for a very short time before the extremely torquey brushless motor destroyed the CA spur gear, which appears to have been made from the most brittle material possible. I had suspected that this might happen, but it was interesting to see.
