  2. Speaking of SEA imports. I bought this MPX-K (King Arms OEM) on sale from RedWolfAirsoft and as per usual with EMS deliveries from those places, I had no fees nor VAT etc. The interior delivery was done by Royal Mail.

  4. This rather nice 1911 from 18Airsoft. It's an E&C, nice trades, seems to work well - and only £52 (plus a minimum of about £20 for postage I seem to remember). Grips are Ivory effect G10 from Aliexpress for about £8 posted - only a small amount of dremmeling required to their undersides to achieve a perfect fit.

  8. Latest arrival. With a massive thanks to a very good member on this forum. The L100A1 (G3KA4) The real rifle was seen (and well pictured) in use with UKSF in Afghanistan. But was documented in use well before that. Mine is the LCT LC3K. It's set up in the configuration as seen in use in afghan. The flash hider had to be specially made by LCS Engineering. The grip pod has been stripped out, and turned into a battery box. This is due to the railed handguard leaving no room. It also features; real * handguard * scope mount * rear sight. At the moment the dbal is busted. But will be replacing that when I can. Heres a warning to those looking at doing similar!!!!!. The issue is that LCT isn't 1:1. So the real rail sits slightly too short. So trying to figure out how to get around that. Now just need to weather it a bit more. And may even add a very slight dusting of tan in the nooks and crannies. The other small thing is picked up a busted airsoft Claymore mine. The american designation is M18/M33. Still trying to find out the "L" designation is.

  10. I can honestly say that the airsoft community have been the most welcoming and social group I’ve ever known, even from the first time I went. I started out on my own and was having nerd level conversations with people within minutes about guns, camo and ear in general, they were only too happy to pass on tips too. You’ll find the same where ever you go, it’s certainly a refreshing concept!

    Hop...

<but-why.gif> True though, and Novritch has a video (which currently escapes my search skills) where he demonstrated that by building a short-barrelled sniper with a heavy piston wrapped in wire that crept to a crazy degree when fed heavier BBs. The indoor sites that I play at with a 0.25g limit still put 0.2g BBs into our mags for chronoing. I mean... why? Ancient habits? Put in 0.25g, eat that extra 20p cost for the entire chrono session.

    Hop...

Piston mass has an impact on JC too. I run pretty heavy piston assemblies in my guns (even in DSGs) and the increment in energy when running 0.3/0.32s, especially when applying hop, is enough to get laughed at when I chrono at tournaments.. on 0.2s, with hop off (as per rule set) all my guns chrono at roughly 0.75/0.8J, but then on "game setup" I'm pretty damn close to the 1J limit I have, sometimes even too close... But hey, rules are rules huh? Also yes it's pointless to use 0.2s even indoors, 0.25 is the absolute lightest I use, with 0.28/0.30/0.32 being the most common bb weight I run. Better trajectory, better effective range, less spread way over there.

  14. To be honest most of the time (particularly if the weathers a bit shit) I enjoy the social aspect of the game more than the actual game itself. Definitely a social hobby, most people love to chat about their kit. If you’re a regular to the same site chances are you’ll get to know people pretty well. I’ve certainly made some great friends in the sport.

  15. Ah, right. Most sites should now be chronoing with the BBs that you're using, with limits specified in Joules. Bolt actions tend to be limited to 2.3J, but it's entirely up to the local site. I'd encourage you to stop thinking in terms of "fps" and 0.2g, it's old habit. I can tell you what energy my guns are putting out with the BBs that I use, but have no idea what fps that is.

I agree. I call them guns because they're... guns. (Of which there are many types, from snow foam guns to impact guns..)

  20. I tried sneaking in a cheap little double bell 92FS into my massive 18airsoft order but it ramped the delivery cost up the moment I popped it in - still, mine also came today which was an awesome suprise, and I might've won the customs lottery because it just arrived with zero fanfare or added fees I have no idea how they didn't notice 21 seperate items and decide to take a bite, but I'm more than happy to have 'gotten away' with it lol

Fixed that for ya 😁 With the general opinion on 'guns' and to distance ourselves from the US crazyness we prefer to call em something less obvious.

So mine arrived on the weekend. i ordered two however that hasn’t panned out. One arrived with a factory defect (cracked nozzle). The second one is below. I’ve put a SCW stock on it. Seems to cycle well on ultrair at room temp. Haven’t tested the power or consistency of shots as the one I’m planning on changing the inner barrel and hop rubber soon. largely MWS compatible. MWS hop unit, MWS BCG, MWS trigger box, MWS spec stock tube.

  29. Hey @Impulse I recently made a new longer nozzle for my Tanaka for the same reason. It was pretty simple really. If you post me his bolt so I can measure it up (don't fancy the gamble it's the same ID/OD), I'll make him an extended nozzle with a thread for those restrictors. Won't take me long at all.

  31. I can confirm that Modern Warrior shop is a fantastic little gem! John who owns it does own a few of the airsoft sites in Kent and a few shops to go with them. I’d highly recommend visiting! If there’s something you need he will do his best to try and source it for you and answer any questions you may have! Lauren is also a superstar, very friendly team they have, and if you spend over £100 I believe you get a free game day!

  32. Would place heavy bets on old prisons being chockful of currently unexposed Asbestos - which makes them completely unviable for redevelopment, as removal/containment is astronomically expensive/time consuming.

  33. When I google any given product I might be interested in there's an ever-increasing number of online shops popping up; has been the case the past few years. The brain loves to be doom and gloom but I do not believe the business is in some kind of death throes. An actual walk-in shop in SE England is going to inevitably struggle a lot by comparison to an online only business in.. somewhere that's not SE England or in the valuable part of another large city. It's not like you can magically charge more for X product just because of your location, people will simply shop elsewhere; yet your running costs are far higher.

  40. Well gentlemen, what a painless process that was. A week after making contact with BF via email and requesting to speak directly with the officer associated with my case, my GHK Glock 17 Gen 5 has arrived. Can’t thank all of you enough for your sound advise, it’s been very much appreciated and will endeavor to help anyone in the future as you have all helped me👌🏻

How long is acceptable to wait for a payment from a buyer Im pretty quick replying to folk, and just got abuse from a buyer (on another forum) For agreeing a price and sending him my payment details -immediately , last week. I gave them 5 days to pay me (I’m not in the habit of pestering someone for a payment), then moved on to the next interested party Now they are in the huff with me 🤷🏻‍♂️
