I know I probably posted this last time, but I'm always amazed at Japanese efficiency. Ordered a barrel from Orga on Saturday and it just arrived today, all the way from Japan!3 points

Low fps could it be cylinder related?

Bought with goal to start filming my games but realised that I prefer having my actual peq attached for functionality so selling to fund other airsoft purchases. Has one standard lens and one zoomed lens. Both come with SD cards and a power bank if you wish to charge them out in the field. Setup would cost you £300+ new so listing for roughly 40%. If you want an A5, I personally really like the VFC AEG one. It shoots lovely with nothing needing to be done (To mine, at least) Alternatively if you’re not bothered by trademarks the Specna Arms A5 might be a good choice. Not had any experience with their A5 but I had their 416D with the Edge 2.0 gearbox and it was my main pew for almost a year, until sadly I lent it to a friend and it came back with a broken lower receiver 😔1 point

It's the Magazine port door that some of us have had a problem with. Locks the mag or gas block into place. Some of them seem to alow the gas block for the box mag to pop free. Mine hasn't done it since I fitted the dna part and It's getting alot of use ! The ejection port cover that is fitted is completely fine .1 point

TM MP5 NGRS Owners

'The standard' is to turn your hop fully off then just go from the front. Long as you're not using anything abrasive and are careful/gentle/don't go ham fisted at it then it'll be absolutely fine, nothing adverse is going to happen.1 point -
The 'What have you just bought' Thread
gavinkempsell reacted to Impulse for a topic
Ok, so I went and bought a bunch more stuff, but my Longbow order is delayed due to customs being customs. Jason gave me a call today to explain and said he'd throw in a bottle of .45s for the inconvenience, but it means I won't be able to test the build for another two weeks as my local site is only once every two weeks and I won't get it by this weekend Ah well, at least basically the entire internal build arrived. Mega impressed that the Orga barrel arrived, as I ordered it from Japan on Saturday and it arrived today! Missing the rifle, suppressor, fast hop unit and pouches for the magazines, as that was my longbow order.1 point -

M4 Airsoft mag brands
Tactical Pith Helmet reacted to Rogerborg for a topic
Yup, Specnas are one of the worst brands for mag compatibility, except for all the other brands. Issues can usually be ameliorated in the field by wiggling and slamming the mag in, but you might get some mags that just wont fit or feed. This can almost always be sorted by either filing/sanding, or shimming, the mag as appropriate to line it up with the feed tube. Or if you have a lot of mags that need sorted, it can make more sense to shim inside the magwell instead. The fuzzy side of self-adhesive velcro tape is popular for this, or just use duct or electrical tape in a pinch - you could also stick a strip of plastic on if you need a big adjustment, e.g. piece of cable tie. If you do run into problems, then find a mag that does feed, and put it side-by-side with the bad ones. Eyeball and measure them up, and note how the feeds in the top of the magazines align (or don't align) - that will tell you whether you need to remove or add material to or from the front or back or the bad mags to make them match up and feed gooderer. Brings back memories when I foolishly used Nuprol bbs in my MWS and they shattered and royally screwed up the MWS! I should have sent Nuprol a bill for repairs ! That reminds me I need to check the rubber as I’ve not used the MWS for over 13 months. I know I know. Bad bad MWS owner 😂😂 HPA’ing a MWS? Good lord man! Wash you mouth out with soap young man! Failing that a swig or two of whiskey!1 point

Specna use more than one OEM; consequently, not all Specna branded mags work in all Specna branded guns.1 point -

THE TM MWS thread
GothicGhost reacted to O3Tactical for a topic
I'm in Japan now so the time has come to join the MWS club. Mostly real gear apart from the charging handle and the can. I have built a lot of firearms but am still a bit of a noob when it comes to airsoft and so, upon seeing this wonderful thread, I binge-read a good seventy five percent of the posts while in anticipation for getting my first proper GBB rifle. Because of this, I feel like I am very well prepared to put this beast together and would like to give a big thanks to Wo1f and all the regular contributors here for all of your knowledge and advice and, by way of reciprocity, should anyone wish to know what's going on in the scene in Japan or have questions about parts and procurement etc. then please send a message. When I am off base and not lumping things around in the heat I will do my best to answer promptly.1 point -
Novritsch Aug
Cannonfodder reacted to Colin Allen for a topic
Damn you! I really hoped that you were going to say that it was a pile of Austrian Hundehaufen, so I would not feel tempted to get an A1. Oh well, time to start sewing FIDF patches on the DPM.1 point -
Received the A2 today, first impressions are: The body feels absolutely amazing, it feels like it's one solid mass with no creaking at all. Assembly is easy as can be, literally slide in, push a button and done. Admittedly I'm not a fan of the M-Lok handguard but that's just personal preference. What drew me to the SSR over others was the metal upper rail, and the modernisation of the platform. The trigger, oh my, the trigger 😩 It has a very smooth trigger pull, unlike the snow wolf aug I had prior (Although to be fair, may have just been a bad one?) and a very nice break between semi and full auto giving you a subtle indicator that you're about to go into the realm of brrrt. On top of this, the ability to spam the trigger (On a 7.4v, it recommends an 11.1v but I don't have any) on semi is beautiful. The safety bar is also incredibly smooth with a nice "thunk" when you're in safe/not safe. It chrono'd at roughly 242 on .25g BB's with the hop not adjusted at all from factory, didn't have the time to really mess with it too much so I'm assuming the hop may be nearly off. Magazine comparability: Snow Wolf magazines are a bit of a squeeze and need some gentle persuasion to go in, but they do fit and feed fine in the A2. The included mid cap goes in super smooth as expected, however both magazines look to be identical. I don’t have any other brands to test though. I'll be taking it out to a game with me next weekend, but I'm blown away by the absolute beauty and feel of it. I think it may replace my RPK as my go to pew for now... 👀 Edit: I forgot to mention my main gripe with the replica. The battery goes into the rear, like a normal Aug. However the “plate” seems to sit further back than I remember the snow wolf I had did. Making this rather awkward for slightly longer or thicker batteries. Not the end of the world, but worth taking into consideration!1 point

Having fielded my MWS at the great RIFT Airsoft REDCON-2 site at the weekend I found that the old TM hop rubber was on its way out and my GunsModify nozzle damaged (probably from a shattered tracer BB earlier in the year) and this led to a couple of gas dumps at in opportune moments 😂 I also noticed some drift to the left beyond 40m. By 60m it was missing the torso sized target without some serious aiming off! I fitted a Maple Leaf bucking which gave a better air seal so dropped in the spare AG v2 nozzle and NPAS to offset the now very spicy FPS. I have some more GM and G&P nozzles if needed but the RATech NPAS are such a pain to adjust and not that consistent. Once cooler weather is here I’ll go back to the GM fixed set up. To keep the hop perfectly vertical I added a 0.1mm AEG shim to the outside left of the hop unit, between it and the outer barrel / brass collar. This stopped it rotating a fraction when snugging the barrel nut up. Now I just need to get to a range with 60m+ but it certainly looks perfectly level. Tested all my mags and FPS was 278 - 292 over the 7 mags, with each mag within +/-2fps on 3 shot of 0.28g Warhead BBs Mag #5 was the spiciest so marked that one and will chrono using it 👍1 point
