  1. Problem: airsoft is split across too many groups, apps and websites. Solution: add another new group, app or website.

  2. Good. It makes searching for info on a topic easier and I don't have to search through a load of posts which are just attention seeking bellends trying to get likes and followers. Nope. You can private message and tag forum members in posts There's already a good website (https://playairsoft.uk/) which has a good list of sites nationwide. As for sites they can have their own section of the forum where they cam make announcements etc. Whether or not they choose to use them is down to them and as most people who run sites don't do it as a main income, I can seem why they wouldn't want the hassle of another social media platform to manage In your opinion and opinions are like arseholes..... It doesn't. Tbh this sounds like a you problem and want to be spoon fed People believe the earth is flat and vaccines cause autism but it doesn't make them true. Do you have any data or evidence for this demand?

  6. Is there a demand for anything new though? If so then one of the previous ideas would've come to fruition. What will your platform offer that others don't?

  7. Great, another social media app which nobody asked for. I can see how this is going to go Seriously though, every few years someone suggests this and every time bugger all happens

  9. There's nothing 'new' in this world, so what's your not-forum loosely similar to? WhatsApp communities? Discord? Signal? As a member of the public why would I choose yours over, say, here?

  10. Can you provide some clarity on this minimum viable product? FB, Instagram, Twitter et al are all social websites but they operate differently so how can somebody qualify themselves being a good beta testing candidate when there is no clear competency that needs to be demonstrated? I ask this as a STEM graduate and professional who developed, released and tested beta phases of a product.

  11. I use a mesh lower mask that includes separate mesh ear 'cups' - worst case would be that your hearing aids fall out but would be retained within the mesh for you to safely retrieve I would think. Something along these lines: My goggles strap sits above the top of the mesh ear cups, so i would presume that your current set up's strap would too. Certainly worth a try, they don't cost much, and your breath can rather freely escape (certainly easier than the balaclava style face protection that you seem to use) which helps with reducing fogging..

  12. Indeed, it's a question often asked and rarely answered. Border Force and the couriers seem have cracked down on this recently and there's a real risk that anything remotely gun-shaped will be seized and destroyed. If you have someone in Canadia who can post them on once you can adduce a solid defence, that's one option. The other gamble is to bring them in person (getting them on the flight is an exercise for the reader) and bring a fat folio of evidence that you have been, and will be, airsofting, i.e. booking information for events in Canada and the UK. Maybe even join the Shooters' Rights Association and wave the public liability insurance documents at them confidently - meaningless, really, but it's a process of convincing them that you're a good egg.

  14. Your reason for importing would be for the purpose of Airsoft skirmishing, therefore under VCRA terms you would be within the law But without UKARA - and obviously without the ability to play until you get here - you won’t have the common documentation method that they would use to validate ….. now is the time for one of the previous travellers to post up their experiences - these are fairly common questions about bringing RIFs across borders but the final experience rarely gets fed back

  16. Finally managed to get a retro MP5 PDW stock to swap out all the modern hideousness on my Cyma CM041L so it's gone from this monstrosity to this classic but with the amazing range and rate of fire 😁

  17. Welcome. As Rogerborg posted, don't worry about turning up on your own. You'd be surprised how many people do. If you're looking for a site have a look at https://playairsoft.uk/

  19. The UK limits for an airgun to be classed as non-firearm airsoft gun are 2.5 Joules for single / semi guns, and 1.3 Joules for auto-capable guns. I'm sorry that we can't say anything with certainty, but every case of individual importation seems to be a little different, depending on where the RIFs (or parts) are spotted, and by who. We've seen everything from them sailing through, to being asked to fill in a declaration, to being asked for a UKARA number, to the police showing up at people's door long after the import in order to check on it. It's a complete lottery.

  20. As I understand it many years ago bios had a nasty reputation for swelling and cracking, particularly in damp conditions, ruining guns. However I've played at a few bio bb only sites over the past few years and fired thousands of them with no problems

  21. You generally want to aim for 60-70% of new price for a used airsoft gun in decent condition, if you can find one. Sellers will always ask more and claim that their shagged out bag of loose bolts is "basically new" or "just test fired once", while buyers are always looking for a bargain. If you're after a specific model, you can always stick an ad in the wanted section here - https://airsoft-forums.uk/classifieds/category/17-guns-wanted/ - but you'll need to be very careful about scammers claiming to have just what you want, when all they have is a stolen stock image. Buying used is always a risk, and it's something I'd only encourage if you're willing to work on the gun yourself to remedy whatever it is that's prompted the owner to sell it. Buying in person and testing it first is a better idea, and it's worth asking around at your local site(s) to see what people have for sale. Clean the barrel, dial the hop in, and feed it the heaviest BBs that it will hop and that your wallet can stand (I tend to use 0.28g, other people go heavier), and you'll be competitive with anything else out there.

  22. Ahoy and welcome. We'll see if anyone chimes in, but the great thing about airsoft is that it's a very welcoming hobby. It's absolutely fine to rent and show up alone, and super easy to get talking to people. Just ask anyone about their gun or the site and see if you can get them to shut up.

  23. Lol, I was running around with real guns when you were just an itch in your dad's pants, but I tire of every "gen Z" that thinks they're gonna reinvent the wheel. But you fill yer boots 😏

  24. Great! But good UI shouldn't require a lesson in how to use it. It should be easily accessible and obvious, not buried away and to be brutally honest, formatted horribly. Have you tried using that game sites map on mobile? I genuinely had no idea about those areas of this site. It's a symptom of the forum structure. Lots of cool things buried away. Bashing new features into a dated forum structure is part of the problem. By the way, I really appreciate you engaging with me on this.

    Hello from Hampshire

Hello & welcome! I use the facepro with ear mesh too, because I don't fancy a BB in the ear but they'd also be pretty good a retaining a hearing aid. I pair it with Bolle X8000's and a baseball cap, have been thinking of trying a helmet but am concerned that one will just lead to me overheating and I also have a big head so also concerned one won't fit. Another thing you could do (if the three of you were thinking of using comms) is get something like earmor M32's which would keep hold of your hearing aids (assuming compatibility with ear cups), allow you to chat and protect your ears both physically and audibly.
