New pew today 😁. Since using my lad's SSE18, I've wanted one for my ghillie rig, but I've decided to dual-purpose it for my cyberpunk CQB setup. The massive holo is a placeholder until my low-profile (red) red dot arrives, but I'm starting to get attached to it, whilst tactically sweeping my house over and over. The amplifier was primarily cosmetic but it definitely makes the pistol sound less anaemic. Also missing is a red flared mag well, as it was out of stock. She's ugly, but that's kind of the point. 😄 Once it's complete, the real project begins: Integral torch, using the foregrip cavity, and LED lighting in the rear carbine cavity... all for the cyberiness. 😄

On one occasion, one of the other marshals was playing for the day and, armed with my MP5K, was prone on a track that led along one side of half of the site. He was picking off opposing players on the track who were certain that they were hitting him. I walked up to where he was and observed that their BBs were falling about 4m short of his position. I shouted to them confirming that they were not hitting him. They stated that they must be, so I called a ceasefire in that area, told one of them to go and stand next to him and then told the rest to try to shoot him. That finally convinced them that they were not ranging him. They had the grace to apologise.

I like to act as a firebreak for those by saying "It's airsoft, he's probably saying the same about you."

Decided to get an old school MP5 for my King County Sheriff loadout as i wanted one with a sliding stock and the S-E-F lower has grown on me compared to all my other MP5s with the Navy lowers! I just wish i could find an MP5K PDW folding stock to swap a kidney for so I could swap out the hideous modern CQB style one!!

Ain't that the truth. One guy gripes to a friend about someone he's absolutely sure he hit, his friend gripes to someone else, and suddenly there's a witch hunt. And 9 times out of 10 the player in question IS calling hits, it's just the griping player doesn't understand that he's not shooting lasers.

Classic Army is probably the best TM spec G36, great externals and mostly in spec, gears are a little cheese metal and can strip but easily replaced. Fits a real steel handguard with no mods too, JG always seemed a little different shape and needs some persuasion for it to fit.

I marshalled at SPC in Shotts and then managed/ran the Wargames Centre in Ayrshire for 4 years for the owner. It’s not easy, you try to be fair, make sure the game brief is understood, make sure everyone is safe and deal with real issues, and as long as the marshal team pay attention (not staring at phones), everything else is really up to the players. You’ll never please all of the people all of the time. Some folk thing they are Jonny Concrete with laser shots, others can start the quiet rumours that someone isn’t taking hits, then it spreads like the flu and you need to get right into the skirmish, which hurts, to ensure everyone is playing fair. It did sour my view of some players, but also there are many moments where your faith in humanity is restored..to a degree 😂, when you get a genuine ouchy or safety issue or just congratulations for great shooting or gamesmanship. There’s generally many more good guys than dickheads, and you just need to keep a level head.

Got this Dual optic the other day from Cheffington , only just fitted it. Was a nice surprise to find the nuts & bolts were still in it.

We had a look at a Mk23, nice pistol but huge in his little hands. The last few games my son has been going with a friend, him with the VSR and his friend with a AEG. They play at being a sniper team, one shooter, one spotter. I’m not sure how effective they are but they’re having fun creeping around so that’s fine with me. 😀 I’ve got the parts for the VSR and will give it a go this weekend (after Tankfest) wish me luck!

The very first step is done: I got the CAD files for the laspistol and will now modify it to hold a cheap laserpointer. This is a very first test on how hard/easy it is to modify STEP files, print them, test them etc. Once that's done @Rogerborg will be able to built his most favorite cat toy 😉 and I will move on and start working on the lasgun.

To be honest, the S&T isn't bad - Unless you want to modify it. The hop is annoying and only one really works with it (Begadi, so big bucks). Both of my stock S&T's do run lovely though, and the EBB is quite fun on the MG36 🤤 Most of the issues I ran into was because I was changing brand parts over and trying to make them work, which ultimately didn't. Sadly, the best feeling one (Imho) is the Umarex/Ares G36X - However, internally it's Ares. Closely followed by the new generation S&T. Out of the 11 G36's I've had, I would personally put them in this order from best to worst: JG - Works great, dirt cheap and takes the most upgradeable parts just don't snap the selector plate. Umarex/Ares (Although currently mine has an S&T stock gearbox in it) - Mainly biased because it takes the Ultima industries handguard so I can have a legit G36KA4. S&T - I've had 4, and all of them have ran great out of the box with no issues at all. Cyma - Surprisingly, being cyma they're not as great as I would have hoped. Specna - Feels awful, like... really plasticy. Shot alright but I would definitely not buy another. Also really picky with what mags it will feed. The WE GBBR is undoubtedly on the top, but that's kind of to be expected.

'Cyber Ninja' loadout complete and tested 😁. It got a bit warm, but folks seemed to enjoy it. I'm glad to report the extra Heroshark eye pro wasn't needed as the mask held up to some intense CQB action. I'm still not gambling, but it was surprising it didn't shatter.

Current worst: Cyma AKS-74u. It was a journey to make it feed on high caps, currently awaiting a nozzle swap (might do it tomorrow, once I've swapped mosfets on my M4s), hopefully I can play ONE game with it before retiring. On its defence there's fuck all left of the original gun, since I had already built a gearbox for the Dead&L krink. Current best: King Arms PDW. My least expensive build (sub €500 excluding the base gun), yet the most consistent and fun. Compact, relatively lightweight and good performance on a "budget". 9mm mags on an AR platform look mega cool and being MP5 mags they're easy to source. Best value (ever): TM Mk23, 'nuff said.

And just to add insult to injury, the warhead base has had its positive wire chewed up getting it in and out of the aug. Hanging on by about three strands. Have removed it and thrown it down the garden.

My G&G feels very, very nice but it uses non standard mags for its differently-placed feed tube. So no M4 mag adapter.

Ok. So first up, bugger. Tooth missing from the sector gear. I'd short stroked the pick up but it looks like it short stroked the last tooth on the release side all on its own...😒🤭
