  1. That's what makes pistol kills feel better than most others though isn't it? The Whites of their eyes and the (usually) being the underdog victory. Quite looking forward to some pistol and shottie only games at the new place when it opens.

  3. Yeah, Bullseye is peculiar like that. I like them as a seller, but always check the total price from their site versus eBay. It is rather peculiar that they're posting out the same part from the same stock for less, via a 3rd party ordering service that takes a further cut and makes it easier for customers to claim the money back. It seems like buying from them direct means that you're effectively paying them to run their own website and stock management service, as well as listing on eBay.

  4. Yes, postage may not be "free" but its still £4 cheaper than buying direct! because it's my damn right to moan! I'm British!

  5. they do state on eBay they use 2nd class RM but last time i used them it came 1st class. i imagine they just keep their shipping simple, doesn't make much sense though to be cheaper on single parts on eBay. I don't use eBay much anymore since the fees got past 15% and the scamming went through the roof! I used to offer 1st class shipping for just £1.50 but sadly a few too many "package never turned up" when in fact it did pushed me to moving to a more expensive service.

  7. I sell quite a lot of small parts on here, posting is bloody expensive. I only ever post by a sign for postage for security, and that’s from £4.60 even for 2nd class.

  8. It's immensely satisfying when they technically outgun you in that moment but you out strategise them. I once managed to land hits on 3 opponents from around a corner with a pistol before a fourth opponent got me.

  9. Pistol kills are great and I love using them so tend to use mine a few times a game - it's also quicker to switch to in the middle of a firefight than reload. Just ventured into shottie ownership so looking forward to messing about with that - just to stay on topic I'll probably run 0.2's through that due to only using it indoors (probably).

    Tell Us a Gag. Please!

The other day my wife asked me why I carry a gun around the house, I looked at her and said "Decepticons!" She laughed , I laughed , the toaster laughed, I shot the toaster... It was a good time!

  11. Yep - they are rather nice, and these days, a little different. The double/single action trigger is a nice touch too, and would avoid those embarrassing moments when I draw the Glock mid game and have forgotten to cock the damn thing! Perfect for a late 90s/2000's UKSF look!

  12. Soooo satisfying. To be honest, I tend to draw the pistol and have a little charge some times when I would probably be OK on the DMR MED, just for the drama of it.

    Gun upgrade

For any leaks within the gearbox, you have to strip the gearbox down and test the compression of the piston in the cylinder with the cylinder head attached and the nozzle in place. Stick your finger over the nozzle and try pushing the piston in. Once it passes the cylinder window (if there is one), it should be almost solid. If it is not, it is one of: Piston Head O ring Cylinder head O ring Nozzle (if it does not have an O ring, get one with an O ring). AK2M4 sells everything that you need. You can also check the seal between the nozzle and the hop rubber; make sure that there are no BBs in the chamber, turn the gun upside down, place a small piece of paper over the feed tube and pull the trigger. If the paper flies into the air, the nozzle is not fully entering the hop rubber lips; they could be worn or the nozzle could be too short.

    Gun upgrade

Checking them requires you to disassemble the gun and gearbox and you need to test each pair of components, starting from the piston head against the cylinder-cylinder head assembly: Plug the nozzle with your finger and push the piston, if the air seal is good it'll go down to a certain point, stop and bounce back when you let go of the piston, otherwise you'll hear air escape from either the piston head or the cylinder head. If it happens, you either need to lubricate the o-rings or replace them. You will then need to check the nozzle: With the same apparatus add the nozzle and tappet plate, have the nozzle in the forward position by rotating the tappet plate until it rests on the cylinder head "semi circular thingamajig", plug the nozzle and repeat the previous test. If the nozzle leaks and doesn't have an o-ring, replace it with a o-ring equipped nozzle, make sure to check the length and order accordingly. Don't forget to lube it too! Once the gearbox side is done, it's time to check the barrel assembly: Generally speaking hop rubbers tend to seal perfectly against barrels, moreover the hop unit will slightly squeeze them together so an air leak from there is unlikely unless either component is damaged. A VERY THIN wrap of ptfe tape around the front of the hop rubber (where it meets the barrel) may help, but in most cases it's not necessary. One thing you can do is have the gun assembled with the nozzle fully forward, point a torch down the barrel and look through the hop unit feeding tube, there should be no light coming from where the nozzle meets the hop rubber. If there is, your nozzle might be too short. Then get a chrono and look for any velocity/energy deviation: A good air seal will yield very little FPS/J deviation, regardless of the output.

Everything you see in the first picture kinda needs replacing. What you broke is the valve knocker lock (or firing pin lock) and it's the second part that breaks in an AAP after the hammer itself. You can source an original replacement but at this point I suggest replacing the whole trigger/hammer mechanism with CowCow parts.

Got a couple of items available for sale. Torch and a 3x magnifier. Both boxed. You can see them both on my MK18. Torch is nice and bright, but it's a bit chunky looking for me! And I can't get away with the 3x. Might suit someone else's setup better? Both £35 each posted.

  25. I hope they're as good with you in person as they seemed when I overheard a discussion with a customer returning a faulty mag. Their email response leaves much to be desired in my experience too. They took ages to get back on a pre-sales query I had and never answered phone calls.

  26. I have fixed this sort of leak by holding the valve in and putting silicone oil down the top open rubber seal so it makes it way to the bottom. Add a little gas after. You need to vent the mag properly afterwards to get rid of the oil.

  27. Negative Airsoft showed his method rejuvenating mag o-rings in one of his videos and it honestly works in 99% of the cases I've tried it for. Especially when the mag isn't ancient, like here.

Not aware of an upload limit - but unless you have large PDFs or similar I don't see why your upload would be anything other than Kbs rather than Mbs, especially if you follow Mr McSpoons example and optimise the images beforehand.

    bb weight for pistol

0.2's indoors 'cos I've a ton of them I want to use up and 0.25's outdoors. When the 0.2's run out I'll just use 0.25's in everything, everywhere. At the distances I'm usually using a pistol I could pretty much use any BBs and the differences would be negligible.

    Daves Custom Delays.

The errant part arrived today, received a phone call from Dave himself yesterday morning, saying that the shipment had arrived. He even gave me free post, (I'd moved since placing my order and could no longer reasonably make it to the shop) I offered to pay the difference bit he declined. So, I would absolutely recommend or use DCA again in the future, but only for their UK in stock items. Unfortunately said item was an AK wooden stock, meant for a JG, with the part arriving being an SRC stock - no real fault of DCAs, they just get what they're given by the euro wholesaler, so it will require a bit of filing/trimming to fit. But it will finish the build. Matter resolved.

I go .28 in all my ordinary sub 350fps skirmish guns. Keeps things simple and it's a happy average of price and overall performance. There's little difference in speed to target against lighter ammo because it keeps it's velocity for longer over range.

  41. I mostly go on my own too - agreed that at first i felt a bit uncomfortable as it seems everyone else is in big crowds of mates - but the reality is there are lots of others like us, quietly getting on with sorting our kit in the corner. And if you are so inclined, without fail, I've always found people will strike up a conversation at the slightest opportunity - ultimately you automatically have rather a lot of common ground with everyone else there! Also - agreed - DPM (and, similarly, Multicam Tropic) is beyond effective with Rhododendron! It was of course designed for a dense woodland environment of central Europe. Multicam/MTP is very effective, but ultimately a bit of a compromise, and is a touch too light in heavy cover (whereas DPM sticks out as a dark blob in open ground or very light cover).

  42. Depending on your specific location, Super5ives in Portsmouth ought to be within 2 hour. They have just relocated to bigger premises https://www.facebook.com/Super5ives I don’t think that they have posted up their ‘full’ relaunch date yet, which should be in the Spring - when that is fully there should be more to cast your eyes over in the showroom.

  43. My son was busy with his friends so I was 'Billy no mates' at Dogtag last Sunday. Ironically he got me started in this to spend more time together LOL. I was a bit uncomfortable being on my own but once that first BB fly's past your head, all that goes out the window... This was the first time I've played a game with a proper objective which was get a pilot and fuel to the Helicopter. It was great fun and knowing there's a time limit really puts some pressure on. I'm starting to use concealment and using the bushes as cover, Rhododendron's work really well with DPM! Really impressed with my new over glasses Herosharks. Roll on next weekend!

  45. So I decided to pay a visit to the tunnels at Epsom yesterday and it definitely managed to scratch a cqb itch. Numbers were lower than I was expecting at between 10 and 15 players in total but to me that made it better as it meant there was room to move and every doorway or corner wasn't a choke point. Hit taking was excellent with none problems or whining I'd noticed had started to get worse at my previous regular site. All in all I'll definitely be going back
