AAP's are really easy to disassemble, especially the upper. You mention the iron sights and ejection port being areas of concern. If you remove the upper and then take the allen screws out of the rear iron sight, the bolt will come out. Four more allen screws and you've separated the upper from the barrel and removed the hop unit and inner barrel entirely. When it comes to the lower, getting the trigger and bolt release spring in place can be a bit fiddly if you've never done it before, but that's what I'd do.2 points -

Nope. I should have said modern jungle issue German boots. I remember those bloody German 80s things. Rock hard and the soles always came unglued! Pissing in them did work wonders though. Somewhere on here there is a whole thread derailed by a conversation about the effects of ammonia laden piss on boots. 😆2 points -
If it were me, I'd take the barrel assembly off, remove the sights, the rear sight holds the bolt in. Remove the bolt and then separate the barrel end from the rear part. Mask off the insides. The lower part I'd mask off the trigger and remove the mag release. Remove the safety button. Mask off the internal bits at the top.2 points

Been recently having a play around and checking out the internals of the new Cyma platinum SLR AKs. A couple of things stand out to me. The new hop unit (Yes the one with inbuilt tracer...) has had a lot of thought put into it. Tracers are not my thing however you can easily turn it off with a flick of a switch. The one thing however that I really like about it is that they have fixed the issue where the hop setting self adjusts. Usually this is done by an O-ring however as some as you know it is not always the most reliable. What CYMA have done with this unit is under the adjustment slider they have added a little hole where a spring sits with a plastic tip (Like the ones you get under M4 selectors to give the *click*). They have then serrated the the underneath of the adjustment slider. This means you can do tiny clicks of movement easily and it also sits nice and rigid. The gearbox is a DYTAC gearbox which I believe CYMA are the OEM of so it should be nice and strong. It has the typical platinum internals with it being 13:1, mosfet and the cyma blue compression parts. One thing I have noticed is that I believe the shop where it is purchased it from has put in a different motor from stock. Usually CYMA platinum motors have a cyma logo on the side where as this one has a white stick label on on it that says 'To go into CYMA blue' or something alone the lines. It seems like putting in a m120 with the 13:1 it doesn't like it 100% so will be putting in a ZCI 22 in. Overall quite impressed with it all. There needs to be a slight modification to the piston which I might update this post with once done. Also might put in a different mosfet if this one fails (Ideally a perun hybrid v3 but I'm not great at soldering).1 point

I had the same issue with all three of my original .45 pouches. None of my airsoft 1911 mags fit perfectly. Same for the holster itself, neither my Cybergun anniversary nor my Raven 1911 fit it. I think maybe it’s shrunk over the 60 years though1 point -

If you're uncertain, is it feasible for you to visit a shop that has an in-store tech and shooting range? The tech might have open springs you could test with so you'd know if an M100, M95, M90, etc would be the best option for you. As otthers said, there isn't a practical linear way of determining the change in performance even when you know the spring as the air seal in the cylinder has an effect too. Sometimes there is trial and error. Pardon my confusion but is that the weight where you're quoting a current speed of 350fps? I'm not sure that's even legal, let alone permitted on outdoor sites for a full-auto capable airsoft gun. 328fps is still sketchy with 0.25g pellets as that's above ~1.14J. Just to clear any doubt, what's the site's energy limit and/or what's the maximum speed permitted with a pellet of a specified weight? FYI, it's not a universal rule that indoor/CQB sites don't allow ~1.14J - the site I play at does permit up to that energy limit with up to 0.28g pellets. I know the likes of Bunker 51 have a hard limit of 1J.1 point

Thought I'd wear my Alice webbing when using the XM177, bought a pouch which holds 4X20 rnd mags, a leather holster for a 1911 (to stay period) & a double mag pouch to match it. Unfortunately the only period 1911 I currently have is a replica so will use a Raven MEU 1911 instead, bloody pouch is too small for the mags so after a little fettling to the pouch catch they now fit. I'll rivet or bolt the catch in it's new position when I have time to rake about my shed to find the bits I need.1 point -

Unfortunately, the answer to your question rather depends on what spring is in there now giving you 350FPS. If it is an M100, an M90 or M95 should do the trick; however, it is impossible to give an accurate answer. The XT springs from AK2M4 are very good. https://www.ak2m4.co.uk/internal-parts/springs1 point -

Standard German Army issue? They must have improved a lot over the years. Back in 88 they were very solid but would give you the most beautiful blisters. Oh the joy when they then got infected as well. Our Sargent told us to urinate into the shoes to make the leather softer. I don’t think anyone took up that idea 😉1 point -

UPS RIF Declaration for Parts
Rogerborg reacted to Jacob Wright for a topic
As a UKAPU Rep - we’re starting to see more of these seizures where retailers mark the RIFs as having fps over 1J. We are aware of it, and we are pushing Border Force for explanations around the investigation of each seizure.1 point -

Sounds like the retailer is at fault here, either due to their declaration on the documents, or the actual rif supplied being not fit for purpose in the UK. If I were you I'd argue this with the retailer, don't rollover & take any BS, & maybe start a claim straight away via your funding source.1 point

The airsoft was very good and it the atmosphere was somewhat more engaging with the vehicles at our disposal though it is a site that allows vehicles to be used in relative safety. We couldn't get the helicopter on the Saturday as we didn't get the email from the MoD. If you like souvenirs or mementos, the armband and wristbands were yours to keep and included in the ticket price. If you were looking for bargains, there were quite a few to find. There were a some very reasonably priced used AEG and GBB/GnBB RIFs and plenty of accessories. There were a few complete HPA setups but some were so pricy that you were paying for the convenience as you could have sourced the parts yourself for not much more money though you may have some long lead times on some parts. There were a few retailers for new kit also (plus boneyard RIFs), White Sphere Tactical offered a one-off deal on the Vorsk VP-X for £60. The only concerns about camping were the fact that the Show Your Rift sales were open to Joe Public and not far from camping areas so you just had to be vigilant in keeping valuables out of sight and we were warned about that early on. It was more than an hour's drive for me but absolutely worth it.1 point

Hello! I currently have a Specna Arms Edge 2.0. (SA-H22) I want to go for a quick cqb session, however the spring thats for cqb is gone walkies somewhere and i cant seem to find it. I was wondering if anyone could link me a decent spring that is good for indoors? My current fps is 350 with current spring and of course I cant use that indoors.0 points

The 'How Did Your Airsoft Day Go? Thread
Emergencychimps reacted to TheFull9 for a topic
After stagging on all of christmas I've got this week off, which is probably just about the worst one of the year for games but I had to make sure I got one in at least. Took my life in my hands and drove through the biblical floods (some puddles) down to Zed Adventures last night. I think it's probably fair to say there aren't a ton of indoor/urban regular sites in what I'd call 'central south'; not a huge number of sites in general really considering population. You've got loads of sites in Essex/Kent, a blob around Portsmouth, couple of CQB places in Gloucester then the map is a little sparse if you draw a circle around Oxford. With me generally living life around/between NW London, Oxfordshire and Shropshire; Zed was the least-worst place to get to during the evening this week. I'm really not sure if it was worth the trip in the end though 😂 There's a cheap multi-storey (cost me £2 to park) that's well lit and you come out maybe ~15m from the site entrance.. and that's about all that's really positive I could say. In theory you're totally under cover, but the old shop has so many leaks now I got mud on my trousers.. 🤨 (doesn't matter, just funny). The crowd that showed up were all really nice, chill players, but obviously that's a positive reflection on them as people not the site staff. Said staff weren't bad people per se either, but I felt like I was just tagging along at a private speedsoft game night for the marshals, all of which were playing pretty much all of the time. Not a feeling I've ever had at a game before. Also the shortest game briefs I've ever had playing airsoft, by a large margin, one of them took maybe 30 seconds and the guy in his SpeedQB get up delivering it didn't exactly show much enthusiasm. When I say speedsoft players I'm talking HPA guns that were so far removed from any actual firearm I couldn't tell what they were in most cases; looked like Milwaukee power drills. I've been to Zed before something like 3-ish years ago, I think Negative Luke was running it at the time after the Mall and I liked it, had always been meaning to go back. I don't expect an airsoft site to be gleaming by any stretch but none of the SZ tables had had so much as the briefest brush off, the SZ detritus was all just pushed in a corner as apparently a dustpan was a step too far and despite being inside and rarely used the toilets were in a pretty damn wrecked/filthy state. Oh and not only was there a christmas tree up and other decorations, but fake spiders and webs stiff clinging to things from Halloween. They had rigged up sheets and water collectors for the points where the roof was badly leaking, they've also some rigged up the shops' speaker system to an aux lead and put in some funky lights which was cool, but the amount of straight trash in various places definitely counteracted that. I just wanted to play a game somewhere to iron out those niggles in equipment that never raise their head until you're actually in play, but at £27 for an evening game it's very much not on the top of my priority list for the future.0 points -
