  3. One essential piece of kit for doing your own tech work is a chrono. Without one you won't know if all your hard work has paid off, if the gun is underpowered or running hot.

  5. Ran the MP5 for the first time yesterday at Tuddenham, really happy with it 😁 The magazines sat really nicely in the Peacekeeper, I did consider sticking an Esstac 9mm Kywi on the rig to hold them more securely but don’t think I’ll need to.

    Hello guys!

Welcome 🖐 The Specna is a good starter Have a look here too: UK Airsoft Map — PlayAirsoft Milsim is more of a hard core game day with some sites requiring certain gear so I would recommend general open days which are a good combination of fun games with loose team play. Especially to start out. Indoor/CQB are faster paced like CS:GO Answers to questions: 1. No, a helmet is not required for airsoft but can be useful for protecting the nogin when running around. 2. A helmet is also good for attachments like ear protector panels 😁 You can get mesh masks with ear protection like THIS 3. Nothing required. Good eye protection and ankle high boots are recommended. Save some money for mags, decent batteries and charger. (search forum for recommendations) Enjoy 👍 (Don't watch Licking Muckstain [Kicking Mustang] videos)

  8. Yep, I'd go as far as to say every airsofter needs a chrono

  9. That's a very broad topic, and whilst the basics are somewhat straightforward the further down you go the more detail and nuance there will be. The best way to learn is to do it. However that said, that's also the best way to ensure the gun isnt guaranteed to run well next time you use it. So for the benefit of your sanity don't do it without a reliable backup gun. You could for example buy a cheap boneyard pew and try to restore it, best case you get a cheap gun, worst case it's a cheap learning experience. Try, fail, learn, try again, fail at something else, learn, repeat Resources on youtube etc can be good, but without the experience to know if you're watching negative airsoft or skylar from reddit you can easily end up in a rabbit hole of bad advice. On here we tend to be pretty good, lot of knowledgable folks, but even then you can get the odd bit of airsoft mythology still get through.

These guys are usually my "go to" place for random GBB pistol parts... https://www.milspecsolutions.co.uk/ ... and I was hoping they'd have a WE part that you could but they don't. However maybe send them an e-mail as they may have something used in a parts bin they could sell you?

  12. Today saw a return to Splatoon in Essex; this is a relatively small site, which is mostly used for paintball with twice monthly airsoft events, alongside occasional police firearms training sessions. It has a range of wooded areas with different types of cover in each, as well as an open area with a helicopter at each end, assorted cars and lots of container buildings. It also has a very good safe zone with endless tea and coffee for £1 and is one of the few sites that provides a vegetarian option for lunch. I had arranged to meet up with my old airsoft buddies, the father and son team of Andy and George, who I had not played alongside since before Covid as they usually play in deepest Kent and I tend to play in Essex. At chrono, my ARX160 was running very low but still slinging BBs a ridiculous distance, so I decided to use it for the morning anyway; the VZ58 was used after lunch. The day started off with a long fallback game; as the attackers, we had infinite regens on a marshal, while the attackers had one life in each of two wooded areas and the two halves of the open area. Getting into the first wooded area is always difficult as it requires the attackers to run across the front of the defenders; we took a lot of hits and got quite badly held up for a while. However, after massing for a charge, we broke into the area and fought our way through it, eventually declaring it clear and being relieved to find that we had not missed any defenders as each missed player adds 30 seconds to the time. Having cleared that area, we pressed on into the next one, which fell rather rapidly. Next, we had to break into the first part of the container field, which is tricky as the entry is quite restricted and under file from the defenders. Eventually, we pushed in and reached the first helicopter, which provides the first bit of cover. From there, we slowly pushed the enemy back; the three of us were mostly pushing along the right flank, clearing defenders from behind various cars, the edge of the woods and several containers. Once that half of the field was cleared, we had to get one player to the grey helicopter at the far end of the final area. This proved tricky as the area is well set up for defence, so we wore the enemy down before charging the helicopter led by one of our largest players, who managed to get his hands on it. After a quick break to mag up, the game was reversed; despite hard fought defences of each area, the enemy achieved their objectives somewhat more rapidly than we had managed. This was followed by a simple domination game with regens on fixed locations; three spinners are located across the site and the teams have to turn the spinner so that their colour is facing upward. Initially, most of our team headed toward the container village, securing the spinner there. However, news came through that the enemy were in control of the other two spinners, so a group of us set out to assist our colleagues in the central area of the field. We took the spinner and pushed the enemy back; despite several counter attacks, we kept them at bay until the end of the game, while our colleagues in the container village held on to their spinner quite handily. Next came a game where the attacking team had to get a bomb to one of the helicopters and then to the other one; they could choose the order in which they did this. In the first stage, attackers had infinite regens, while defenders had three lives; once the first helicopter had been bombed, everyone was on one life. At this point it became obvious that some of our opponents were related to Usain Bolt, as they reached their first helicopter ridiculously quickly. However, we made it much harder for them in the second half and they failed to reach the second helicopter. On turning this game around, Usain Bolt's relatives again came to the fore, reaching both helicopters and locking them down before we could get there. Once they worked out that the black helicopter was our first target, we did not have a chance of reaching it and could not switch to attack the other helicopter as the team carrying the bomb had to drop it where they were hit, which was near the black helicopter. However, we had a good firefight before the game ended. It was a good day, with some excellent play from both sides. Weapons used: Umarex (S&T) ARX160 Ares VZ58 Cybergun 1911 Railgun

  21. There's always player churn, it just depends on how long the player is in for before they leave, one day we will all stop whether thats life, lack of passion for the game or death. There is generally as many or more that are joining the sport though. What I think is more painful is how much money people have wasted by poor adverts when they do, just letting it sit and rust etc......but then it's not my money.

  23. From what people have been saying over the last few years it seems they haven’t changed their ways even now. Me and a friend are getting back to airsoft and have played at the department site. Said friend decided to buy a vfc m4 after seeing it in the shop and was told that they had just sold out but they can order one in and it will be with them ready for collection by the next Thursday 9 days away (we only live 10 mins away so happy to collect). They took payment over the phone at that was that. The next Friday comes round with nothing heard from them which they said they would ring. He rang up Saturday to be told “oh no we said Thursday the 17th not the the 3rd” friend puts it down to him not hearing right and leaves it at that. 17th rolls round and still nothing so gives them another call to be told that the shipment had been delayed at sea and will absolutely been in the store by the 25th. Now I’m sure a lot of you can see where this is going! Friend rings up on the 25th to be told that it will get here when it does. Now I was next to him at this point and in no way was my friend rude or impolite to given that response. by this point my friends ranging and heads down to the store to demand the RIF or a refund straight away. Ironically the refund happened instantly! While he was in their thought there was the vfc m4 he wanted sitting on the shelf. He asked why can’t he have that one then to be told that’s just a shelf one to show people what we have. It seems to be a take payment then use your money to order the stock. Unfortunately I know of one of the owners and years before extreme airsoft was set up he had a business selling extreme sports equipment (windsurfs, wakeboards etc) and there was rumours going around then that he was very unreliable when coming to shipping products out. But because he seemed like a genuine guy I never believed it. Hope this helps people
