  1. You could always put the dboys in the for sale section as well. You could put the money towards a real airsoft gun then you would have no problems. 😃

  2. 'Cheap and good' - that's what literally everyone is after, heh. Don't get cheap Bulldogs, they're utter shite. Take the advice - don't go too cheap when it comes to BBs or you'll do damage elsewhere. Look to spend around £2 per 1000 (for 0.2g) and no less or you're probably not getting anything any good, though I'd recommend spending more unless you're a high-cap hero. I know plenty would recommend ASG Blasters and G&G stuff - they're not expensive either. Nuprol can be a bit hit-and-miss as some people have received bad batches so I'd avoid despite the fact that they're very quick and easy to buy what with every retailer stocking them these days for some reason. If you're indoor then don't bother with biodegradable unless your site requires you to as they are generally more money and pointless. Outdoor I'd be responsible and use them, but that's your choice (or the site's, as it may be). I'd recommend Green Devil or BioSphere.

  3. Thanks for the reply K@rl. Just thought I'd let you know that I think I found the problem. The hop up wheel operates a metal clip which seems to clamp onto the rubber piece on the end of the barrel. It was turned anti clockwise and seemed to be squeezing the rubber hence making the loader stick inside. I have turned it clockwise and it seems to be better. I have also shaved the hammer for good measure. I only bought cheap just to try out skirmishing. Two of the other cheap guns I bought from only bb guns I thought were OK. I bought this as "ex demo". Had I paid the full price they had on their site they would have had it back. I will buy TM of I enjoy the skirmishing. Thanks again.

  4. Hi Toneill, Did you do your custom paint yet? I recently did paint my Custom made Sniper scopecam and TM MK23 Socom. I used no primer, i just bought paint that is anti-rust. All are mat colors. I also bought silky mat transparant for coating it. I just get a leaf and or tree stick from outside and spray on it with the green....(the tm was black plastic already, just tape of the things you don't want to get green, like the trigger and so on). Then you will notice that it is too much green. then you take the same leaf or stick and spray black on it until it is balanced. i don't wait for it to get dry, i just directly paint over again. Then the Metal look part, i taped the area i don't want to paint on. Then spray the mat metal look on it. If you spray only the metal look on plastic it still look like plastic. To make it realistic you have to use indian ink. That ink stay's well. So what you do is put indian ink on it then use a tissue and wipe it out until some parts are smooth out blending in. Sometimes you have to redo over the same place to get the effect or sometimes you have to wait a few seconds to let the ink dry a bit then it stays better. Some parts you want to be darker then other parts. Let me know what you think of my job And if you have Questions i like to answer them the best i can.

  5. I would just go for 18:1 or 16:1 gear ratio. Put more effort into accuracy and consistency than rof. Better to to have 15rps that hit what your aiming at than 25rps second that miss or fall short. Remember its only the one that hits that counts. Unless they are a cheating git then each one that hits is better than the last. ☺

  6. Don't go too nutz making gun shoot faster without correcting AoE first your piston's inital pick up - large tooth at back will snap off trying to run faster n faster fit deans & improve hop/bucking for now later on you can open her up more, re-do seals , correct AoE etc..... I'd suggest staying with stock or thereabouts gearset or perhaps 16:1 to 14:1 almost deffo you need a new piston with 3 steel teeth if you decide to short stroke and use a slightly higher spring to get fps back up - say m120 & lose 2 teeth blah blah blah mosfet blah blah blah neodym motor blah blah blah rewire blah blah blah decide how fast you really want to go but would suggest being happy getting into 20's up to 25rps the faster you go the more likely feed issues will occur plus it will crap out faster from wear/heat etc..... (unless you walk on water with shimming & assembly which many including myself have so much to learn still) Do it in stages bit by bit is best advice, coz it most deffo not as easy to get everything running ultra sweet here's some dream dreading for ya: http://www.airsoftsociety.com/forums/f10/legacys-guide-building-high-speed-aeg-87504/ go slowly - stick to around 20 until you rip her open, 25rps & she may over run and double fire 30rps & stock springs can get close to Pre Engagement on m100 springs (this is where short stroking comes in but a LOT more work has to be checked n done to continue) Trust me I've smashed f*ck out of many boxes pushing them & something else WILL fail the faster you go so a mild tweak here n there to get you up to around 20 is plenty hey I'm a poet & I didn't even know it I like that - 20 is plenty

    Gas idea

Yea the nuprol 3.0 is 17.99 a can. But works between 3-10° which is pretty efficiant. Thing is if you run a gas gun they are genrally more expensive to run/maintain. If you want to run a gas gun in the winter then is defo going to be more expenisve to make work well. Sooooo buy expesive low temp gas or buy an aeg lol love my aeg wouldnt swap it for any gbbr on the market + all the tea in china! My gas pistol i love and in the cold works fine as the nuprol 3.0 gas last bloody for ever in pistol mags

Said it before will say it agian. Use nuprol low temp green gas in the cold. Works great! From anything above 5-7° and if its colder than that then personaly id rather be at home in the warm.

Ah right, I meant red dot, aha, sorry about that. The irony of the 'short' dot gets me, but seems I'll go for a red dot, thanks for the help ! Oh does that red dot need batteries?

Did. Moved a couple of months ago, but know there are certainly some others on here that do play there. Thing about the short dot is that the eye relief (although good if you spend enough) isn't as good as a holographic (even a cheap holographic). For indoor stuff and up close it's going to be outmatched a lot as it takes longer to acquire a target with, and will probably look a bit silly on a standard AEG too. Also, they're heavy and not all that cheap. My VisionKing one was ~£75 after shipping, so it's a lot for an optic. Or maybe you weren't talking about that at all and meant the red dot sights but got confused. The naming is a little silly - the short dot is essentially a midranged scope, whereas a red dot is one of those floating dot sights like an M2. I'd recommend either a red dot or a holographic sight. I've owned one of the G&P red dots and it was good, but I've never owned one of the holographic type ones so maybe someone that's owned both a red dot and a holographic can shed some light on this. In summary: Unless you're using a true DMR or have a really, really open field I'd go with a red dot or holographic. Don't bother with magnification as you'll spend a lot more, it'll look silly on a short barrel and it won't be as effective in the majority of scenarios. Just to avoid confusion: VisonKing 'short dot' style (1.25-5x32) G&P red dot - aka CompM2 knock-off (no magnification)

    Woodland sight

The very few times I played at Ravens I only took my M4 with a variable short dot - I never really needed all of the magnification and kept it on 1.5x most of the time. If it's just an AEG, then frankly a regular dot or holographic sight is enough and you won't need magnification. Ravens isn't a huge site anyway, but Gunman is a little larger and less forest-y (which I assume is the one you're on about too as it's the only one in Tuddenham). Either way, using a magnified optic is usually more hassle than it's worth and it's worth very little in most cases; it takes longer to aim with. The G&P M2 style aimpoints are very rugged, and there are loads of brands that make holographic knock-offs too which you could go for. I think WE still get decent reviews for theirs. I just bought a UTG 4.2" ITA after seeing some recommendations on here, but that was primarily because I've broken quite a few with blow back - on an AEG this isn't going to be much of an issue so go for what you like the look of. Those are quite cheap too if you look overseas.

  14. Is your hop failing to hold consistently all day? Because if it is working you don't need to change it. There is certainly value in replacing the hop rubber and nub with an R hop and M nub, that will definitely improve the consistency of the hop. To improve accuracy other than hop its a fair bit about the barrel and a lot about the airseal consistency. Replacing or at least lapping the barrel with a decent one can help and you also want to fix the air compression, that is piston/piston head, cylinder head and nozzle. Learn how to test that seal in your gun and if its not great then go about fixing it. You can get your FPS variance down to about 1-2 fps above and below an average and if you do it will help the accuracy. If you want to improve trigger response get a torque motor and then 13:1 gears and go about it that way, gives decent trigger response and a fair rate of fire (probably around 18-25 rps). This will not however increase range or accuracy, only rate of fire and trigger response, power of the gun comes from the spring (and with airseal improvements).

Really really daft and very very silly questions..... Are you 18+ Do you have defense/ukara or at very very least know somebody that can "gift" you RIF No offense but sounds a tiny bit like you don't know your ar$e from ya elbow on airsoft (don't take offense - I still get confused but I blame that on dementia - damn it what was I saying ????) Value for money but not complete crap usually 2 letters G and G (cue the TriggerHappy jibes) If you are starting out many say a decent-ish starter gun can be had for around £150 give or take £25 Carbine ain't worth getting over a Raider imho as Raider has rails for £6 more ICS are good but their lower end stuff isn't as diverse as G&G's In fact though higher end £250+ G&G's are thought to be better - I personally rather upgrade a G&G CM or buy a higher end M4 DO NOT BUY A GUN FROM ANY SITE WITH BB IN ITS NAME £100 or less guns are $hite and many have wasted time n money trying to scrimp too low grab a £80 gun from JBBG and will learn the hard way how $hit it is (plus they lie/not truely honest in their descriptions too - plastic gearbox/receiver - my feathery ar$e) FANTASTIC = bollox QUALITY = $hite FULL METAL - plastic and brittle plastic at that I could go on but think you are getting the idea and no I don't run with high end stuff at all but still cheapo stuff - but better cheapo stuff most of the time it is the player not gun that wins games - but doesn't mean a jbbg gun (I might be magic but I ain't a f*ckin' magician) a good decent starter like what we have said will do ya proud

    Buying an AEG.

G&G & ICS are generally considered the best entry level manufacturers. A retailer called Firesupport has by far the best collection of ICS available, Zero One are better for G&G. Personally I rate ICS over G&G due to slightly better internals, but there's little in it. G&G has a larger range of M4 and more 'real-steel' equivalence, so generally more popular than ICS. Spending over £200 on a gun is probably best left until you've played airsoft for awhile, then you'll have a feel for what kinda one (M4, G36 etc) and style (CQB, woodland etc) you prefer.

    Wolf Armouries

I wrote this review based on notes that I took as: I was ordering, after talking with customer service when I had an issue (and it's a really, really big issue- more on that later) and packing/shipping upon receipt of the product in question. Part I: Front-End Website/ Products It is clear that Wolf have not updated their website's design recently. I have used their site a few times over the past four years, and it has never once changed, other than product listing/ layout of products. A major complaint that I've seen from other forum users is that everything seems to be out of stock. I can kind of see where they are coming from, even though every major category (of guns) all have at least half of their products in stock. Due to these complaints, I think that it is great that Wolf have finally implemented a sorting system for their products- it organizes their products by in stock first, with out of stock at the end. The site itself does not adjust to fit screen size, with no mobile version- not a problem for me, but can annoy some people. Part II: The Ordering Process You find the product you want- in my case, a Tokyo Marui Foliage Warrior (at the time of posting, it’s on sale if you want one). Then add it to the basket. But don’t leave the website when you have added something to the basket because, for some reason, the site didn’t save my basket. This was one of the most annoying things about the site for me. I mean, my basket cleared midway through PAYING FOR my order, which caused a website glitch (more on that soon). They offer ONE shipping method in mainland UK. And it costs £9.50. It IS next working day (don’t make the same mistake I did and order on a Friday morning), but I think it is an essential to offer an economical option for shipping- maybe taking a few days longer but cuts the costs for the user. Even a "Spend more than £200 for free shipping" option would have been appreciated, as a kind gesture. Wouldn't have affected me, but it's a bit ridiculous. So you proceed to checkout, only to find that you have to create an account to place an order. This is the only area on the site that you can make an account. That’s OK. I mean, at least I have somewhere to track my order progress through and check the usual stu--- wait, there isn’t even an account page? No order tracking? No past orders section? Nope! Your account lets you get through checkout more easily on any future orders. That’s it. Barebones doesn’t even cover it. So, after registering your account, you get to possibly THE worst online payment page that I have ever seen. I’m a second year computing student and *I* could probably make a better one. I chose to pay by Debit (under Wolf’s Credit option), so I can’t comment on other payment methods from here on. It has a couple of fields which only apply to one or two credit/ debit card companies- which confused me while I was filling out the stuff that I usually fill out. I got my confirmation email, with a note that (because I’d ordered before 12 Noon, my package would be dispatched same day). And that’s when I found the big problem. Part III: Issues & Customer Service I opened up the confirmation email, and noticed that the total cost was £20 MORE than it should have been. I wondered if I’d accidentally ordered a magazine or something and checked the receipt (same email). The system had, for whatever reason registered my MARUI order as a KWA Glock 18-which was £20 more expensive. This was obviously a big problem so I decided to give them a phone call. By my watch, my first call was made at 10:55. I was put through to an automated voice mail stating that their opening hours are between 11am and 5pm, then it hung up. OK, so that’s a bit of a weird opening time. Anyway, I got through to them at 11:05. The guy on the other end of the phone heard my problem, checked the order and confirmed that it had come through as incorrect on their end. He made a few jokey comments on the phone- the usual airsoft store stuff- and corrected my order there and then. I let him know what I thought had happened, and about the shopping cart bug that I’d experienced. He listened, and thanked me for letting them know. I personally thought that dealing with them over the phone was a relatively pleasant experience, given the circumstances, even if their opening times are bullcrap. Part IV: Communication & Shipping Communication is really important for me. I like to know when my order is received & when my order has been sent out for delivery, at the bare minimum. I got my confirmation email for the wrong product but, even after calling them up, didn’t get any confirmation that the right product had been sent out until I opened up the package. As a matter of fact, I received NO communication from Wolf other than that one email I’ve shown (and a seriously barebones one at that!) and the phone call that I made. I got a text from their courier on the morning of my delivery letting me know the driver’s ETA (3:30-4:30pm). That was all the communication that I got, and half of it was from UKMail! As previously mentioned, UK Mainland only has the one £9.50 shipping option. I’ve already mentioned that, so I’ll save you the drone, but I’m a bit unimpressed with only one shipping method. Packaging was OK but, again, bare minimum. Box wrapped around 3 times in bubble wrap placed in UK Mail shipping bag. I always prefer having a gun sent out in a cardboard box with padding as it leaves less chance of damage to the inner box, however Wolf’s packaging sufficed. Luckily Marui’s boxes have really good padding in them. Here are some photos of their packaging: 1- This is what the gun box (shown in picture 2) was wrapped in. Literally 2 folds of bubble wrap held together by a standard piece of sellotape. 2- The gun box itself. Very well padded. I'd expect nothing less from Tokyo Marui though. Then both were placed in the postage bag shown in picture 3. 3- The bag that all of this was sent in (back side to protect my address). It's thinner than a piece of paper Part V: Summary & Final Thoughts Front End Website/Products: Good: -Product selection (lots of rare goodies) -Products break down by category very well -Prices seemed fair for MOST of their product selection -Search bar is useful for searching for what you want... Bad: -...However it can be a pain to just browse products. The site has NO sorting capabilities such as sorting guns from Low price to high price. This can be REALLY annoying if you have a budget, or are looking for a specific brand or style of gun (EG: Glock as a subcategory under Pistol). - Very little information on product pages - The Front End looks seriously outdated. The site's layout has not actually changed in the 4 years I've been viewing their site. Same featured brands and products... - Still quite a lot of out of stock products (but it is unreasonable to expect every product to be stocked all of the time) Ordering Process: Good: - It lets you order using credit cards. Which is nice. - It is how you buy your products. That’s it. Bad: -Pretty much everything else. If you skipped this bit, please read it. It’s the most important. Customer Service: Good: - Listened to feedback/ reporting errors (something that a lot of companies really don’t do) - Staff member was kind and understanding over the phone and seemed willing to help. Bad: - 11AM to 5PM opening hours makes it difficult to contact them - The fact that there was an error in the first place is pretty bad Communication & Shipping: Good: -Got a confirmation email -Delivery time was sent to me -Package was not damaged upon arrival, and the product works Bad: -Bare minimum communication from Wolf themselves -Packaging could have been far better (ESPECIALLY if I pay £9.50 for it!) -No shipping options. Just one. Which is overpriced. Would I order from Wolf Armouries again? Probably. Their customer service was pretty good, and their product selection is really nice. A few major letdowns prevent this from being a site that I’ll go to before anywhere else, but I’ll order from them if I need to. Heck, I have an account so that’ll make the order easier… Overall, I’d rate Wolf Armouries a 7.5/10. Yes, I did just write a 1400+ word post. If you made it this far, thank you for reading! Oh yeah, here's a photo of my new pistol. Well worth the cost 16/09/2015 edit: HOLY PLOT TWIST BATMAN! Earlier on today, I received a phone call on my mobile phone from an unknown number. Curious, I answered it. It was a representative from Wolf Armouries. They said that they had read my review on here (this post). I expected that they were calling to ask me to take this review down- something that has happened with another airsoft company (JustBBGuns- yeah, I'll name and shame them) over on TrustPilot about a year ago. How wrong I was! Their opening line was "Hi Daniel, we've seen your review on Airsoft Forums, and would like to THANK YOU for your feedback." That took me aback slightly. The customer service representative then gave me a brief overview of what is going to be changed with the site. My mobile connection wasn't great, but what I got from the rep was that Wolf's website is going to be updated over the next year or so. Hopefully this goes ahead because, as I said in the review above, the site seems relatively outdated. They thanked me for taking the time to write the review, because "they don't learn what people thought of their experience if nobody tells them about it". I THINK THAT THIS IS BRILLIANT CUSTOMER SERVICE! As a result, I've added an extra point to my final review score.
