yeah, if you boost it to 450fps, don't shoot .20g BBs at 450fps, you won't get any extra range and accuracy will be all over the place. at 450fps I'd be looking at .36g or .40g for maximum range and accuracy.

So my wife got me an XDM for christmas. Well i got it she just paid for it lol. I decided i wanted it Stippled but thought i'd give it a crack myself. As you do. It may not be to everyone's liking but I think i've done a cracking job and it looks pretty smart.

You will need to do some extensive internal work to get it firing between 425-450 FPS. This will include changing: Motor (for a high torque one to pull a stronger spring) A new spring- as said before, an M120 is your best bet Gears may need looking at or changing. Angle of Engagement correction is a must Piston and piston head in case the new gears strip the piston's teeth. The new piston must be a softer material than the gears. The piston head will improve airflow Air nozzle- again, improving seals and airflow PTFE tape wrap around the hop rubber's end- will improve the air seal A Gate Nano/Pico AB MOSFET or any other decent Fet to improve trigger response Hop unit will have to be exchanged if it's shite or have a new rubber and nub in. R-Hop mods are popular and mine gives me good results in my M27, but they're fiddly to set up perfectly A TBB. None of this MadBull crap for DMRs, you'll need a Prometheus barrel to get the best from it Wiring the rifle to Deans connectors for LiPo batteries is a must. Deans connectors have the largest contacts between battery and gun, meaning there is less resistance compared to Tamiya connectors which have a much smaller contact area. LiPo batteries are a must in my opinion. You can't get the best out of your gun's trigger response without a LiPo, and if you've installed a MOSFET you will get the best out of it. A while back I was looking at converting a CYMA MP5 to DMR standard. All of the parts cost about £100 in total, however that wasn't including a few parts which the stock components had the same performance as (IE the motor- CYMA's motors are pretty decent). My current DMR wasn't done by myself, I bought it for a steal on a 2nd hand FB page, and it's had a lot more done internally than my barebones MP5 DMR project. IDK what the total upgrade cost was, but I bought it for around £320 (the base gun was £450, £500 in places) and a LOT of internal upgrades were done to it (including all of the above and some more). It's performing brilliantly, and the only work needed doing to it is external bits and pieces I haven't got round to buying.

    SCAR Choices

I have the g&g SCAR-L cqc. Most of the reviews that slag the internals are Americans trying to get 400 fps from them. Trigger response is a little slow but nothing you can't fix with a mosfet and a Lipo. Vfc arguably have better externals but are more expensive and (i believe) out of production.

Echigoya is relatively cheap, but after tax it works out at ~£420, with the other fees customs and couriers wack on top I'd not be surprised if it ended up at ~£450. Not to mention if there's something wrong with it I'm not going to be sending it back to Japan. Oh and proprietary mags. But anywho, what's opinions on those 3 versions of the SCAR?

The WE scar H can take stanag mags but it'd look ridiculous. Think about a mouse entering a lion Jcheesewright, one of the guys on here has an H and says it can take stamags, something to do with a different hop up and magwell design or something.

the SCAR-H SSR absolutely will not work with STANAG magazines, completely different. No need to spend £500 to get a TM, order from echigoya in Japan and they're 'reasonably' priced.

  14. Liquid blanco in Natural webbing colour. Yay more blancoing! Having received for Xmas a 2nd set of P37 webbing, I can now start tailoring a set to my Aussie impression. For a British impression the webbing has to be blancoed to make it green in different shades according to the period. It took me a while but I eventually discovered that the correct colour for Aussie webbing is no blanco at all. Apparently the Aussies never saw the point of all that extra work, just as they used tan boots so they didn't have to keep them shiny. So I have washed one set of webbing and scrubbed as much blanco out as possible. Now to hide the residual green and make it look unblancoed, I am going to have to blanco it. Can anyone else see the irony? I have incidentally recently dyed my Aussie uniform to green which would have matched the colour of my webbing and now my webbing will go back to a khaki colour which would have matched the original colour of my uniform. It will however look awesome The next planned webbing alterations are to get 2 more ammo pouches and sew them to the sides of the large pack, a trick common to both the Aussies and Chindits. Then I shall obtain a 5x 30 round Thompson magazine pouch and alter it to fit P37 webbing instead of the left ammo pouch. This will make an Aussie Owen gun mag pouch.

  17. An AS50 would have to be a GBB for me. Can't have a gun like that without a nice bang every time you pull the trigger, wouldn't feel right. Gonna wait on a GBB AK-12 though. Or wait for CYMA to start making those W700s again, they're fun to mess around with if you don't use them as actual snipers. Use it as a mid range hunting rifle on an apocalypse loadout, sorted.

  19. The last email I got from the Dytac rep showed a QD type V2 gearbox. This is in their latest Sportline AEG, I'm guessing they use this in all their AEG's but I could be wrong. They do a great line of quality products, I was very tempted to start selling them here in the UK but they just weren't cheap enough when compared to the competition out there currently. Here's a pics he sent me:

  22. I have one and I was getting around 260 from the stock set up, iirc. Definitely no lower than 250. As 2_0 said, contact the retailer - who knows whether it's the piston head, the O-ring, or the air seal nozzle not making good contact with the hop rubber, but whatever it is the retailer should either ifx it or replace the gun.
