Seriously, the one time I'm not actually being sarcastic (and this time as well). Threads like this normally turn into: "you can't paint your gun until you're 18 and have a UKARA licence" and other nonsense. Then I come on and start preaching and everyone gets pissed off at me. I'm just really impressed at the level of knowledge and common sense that has been offered on this sort of thread for once (though I've still come on and got people pissed of with me...).5 points

You know what counts as proof that you can legally manufacture an RIF? Anything. The Association of Chief Police Officers have called the law unenforcible and nobody but the kind of bellend who can't keep his nose out of everyone else's business cares anyway, so go ahead and either take the bright paint off (with Fairy Powerspray - look it up on yt) or paint it Kryptec for the giggles.4 points

Kryptek counts as two tone???
Longshot and 2 others reacted to jcheeseright for a topic
Yeah, complete and utter tosh, anything less than 51% solid bright colour as laid down in the VCRA is a RIF, patterns are a no-no and subdued colours don't meet the requirements. That said, there's no law against you painting your gun as I assume you can prove you're a legit airsofter. The 18 year old rule applies only to SALE of RIFs, not manufacture.3 points -

Airsoft Awareness!
Airsoft_Mr B reacted to Shayde for a topic
I love Airsoft, and although i've only been to around 10 games, i've loved each and everyone Not only is it a great chance to meet new people, and build on crucial life skills it keeps me fit I REALLY want to raise awareness of this fast-growing sport, in a hope to raise more sites and gain more players. Earlier this evening i created a Facebook page (https://www.facebook.com/AirsoftAwareness) and i'm going to use it as a community page. I want to build a strong relationship between site owners, players and business managers. If you could take a moment to like the page, and possibly share it, you'd be helping to spread Airsoft to a wider audience. On the page, within the next few days, i'd like to start partnering with Airsoft Sites, webpages and Teams. Together we can raise awareness for the sport we all love so much Kind regards - Shayde1 point -

Load-Out / Loadout Picture topic
Mack reacted to ronnyjodes for a topic
This is something lightweight I've thrown together for CQB but primarily for zombie games. It's lacking the eye pro and my half face mesh mask because it looks cooler this way . I think it might be missing something if anybody has any ideas? I put my knee pads on and it didn't look right and a shemagh didn't look apocalyptic enough. I could do with some pouches to mount on my belt for my mags and cowboy boots and a machete would make it but would reduce skirmishability somewhat. Also, if I didn't like the shirt so much I'd cover the thing in blood and mud. Token shot for photoshop hilairity1 point -
Airsoft Awareness!

Thanks for the warm welcome I've been told on another forum, that this idea of raising awareness has been tried many times before, and failed. But trust me, this page is going to be worth it1 point -
Kryptek counts as two tone???
DX115FALCON reacted to TacMaster for a topic
You could get some Nitro Mors and use it on the painted receiver of your MP5, it gives it a badass bare metal look as it strips right down through the original black... I had my MP5 that way for a while before repainting and it turned so many heads, you just have to make sure every fleck of paint is gone1 point -

Kryptek counts as two tone???
Stormhall reacted to DX115FALCON for a topic
Would you be able to film the process and share it on YouTube? I'd be quite interested in seeing how this is done.1 point -
The law states that 2 tone is bright orange, bright green or various specific other colours. However the law doesn't state that under 18's cannot manufacture a RIF if they have a defence. As long as you have been skirmishing for a reasonable period of time and can prove it if need be, I would suggest that you may want to paint your gun.1 point

Welcome to the forums Personally I hate fb and there are more than enough airsoft pages that i wish i had never bothered to like, except that once in a blue moon somebody says something interesting and i kid myself that the last few months of what is essentially spam through my inbox was actually worth it. But I am probably known as the resident curmudgeon, so what do I know?1 point

G&G Combat Machine M4 Shorty
Lozart reacted to Airsoft_Mr B for a topic
No issues as far as I know. The G&G Combat Machine M4s are great quality - both internally and externally. I'm also 99% sure that the barrel is threaded (unlike TM-spec rifles like my CYMA ) The flash hider will be able to be removed. Buy a good battery and charger. Preferably a LiPo, and re-wire to Deans.1 point -
TBF on her they seem to fit closer to the face than some, but I'm not convinced in the down direction. You know, the part between eyebrow and frame which will be facing forward, exposing your gaigin round-eyes to whatever can fit through, every time you look down at your chest or what's immediately in front of your feet (which you will more often than in ordinary life). The main question remains however, how much like hers is your face shaped? Here's the biscuit taker however: By all means put a lanyard thingumabob on there to stop them falling off your face when you run, but even if it's tight, unless you have a pronounced dent in the back of your skull into which the string can slot so that it cannot move, then running is going to make it slip introducing slack and those arms, no doubt designed for the convenience of workers who regularly take them off and on again, offer very little resistance to slipping forward when your head is bowed... What you need is goggles which have frames with rubber/foam edges that seal against your face. If you get polycarbonate lensed ones like this, they may well fog easily - that's a different discussion. The important thing to grasp is that just because you see pictures of plenty of people wearing what I have here defined as inappropriate eyepro while airsofting and don't hear of hundreds of accidents, that doesn't mean that the eyepro is in fact safe. It's not that common to be hit in the eyepro at all, although it seems to go in rashes, and those hits will primarily result from leading with your face, which is an unfortunate but necessary aspect of skirmishing since blind firing is universally banned, so the BB's will be coming straight at you, fired from the direction you are attempting to get a look at from behind cover. Of those not all would have hit you in the eye anyway, they hit some wider bit of the eyepro... but the thing with hits which come from the edges, and would have hit you in the nose maybe or the temple, is that the eyepro may actually funnel the BB towards your eye if it's that 1 in a million shot that just happens to get you in exactly the wrong place as happened to this bloke. Don't be the next unluckiest bastard in UK airsoft.1 point
