Impulse
Just finished my new sub-£100 ghillie setup and I'm quite pleased with the results. Wanted a boonie + cloak setup to be lightweight, breathable, easy to move in, easy to crawl without picking up the entire forest floor and not getting caught on everything. I'll be using it with m81 woodland BDUs underneath, a pair of OD fingerless gloves and camo paint for my face to keep good airflow around my head to prevent eyepro fogging and keep general sweating to a minimum. The webtex vest I just cable tied directly onto, but the boonie hat I poked a bunch of holes in with an awl and then used the holes to cable tie material onto it. I hate the rather prevalent over-engineered all-over bush suits, so a boonie + cloak setup is far better for me! Also, the webtex vest has elastic veggie loops, so if I'm at a larger or more serious event I can put natural foliage all over it as well. It's totaled up as such: - Webtex Concealment Vest ~ £40 (but I already had this buried in my airsoft stuff) - Novritsch screen camo set ~ £28 - Novritsch raffia ~ £13 - Teesar boonie w/ neck flap - £16 Total ~ £97 Edited May 14 by Impulse Skullchewer and gavinkempsell

Sd96
A while ago at a airsoft site near me,I found 2 used 6 bang training device grenades probably from some police or military training, my original plan was to keep them as paper weights as they are inert, my thoughts then went to, how easy it would be to make them useful again and looking at the mechanism I fiddled on with re drilling the old primer and fuse out and tried a new primer and what was basically useless. I then looked at my bfg (dynatex dominator) to understand how it worked and then the plan changed. To make them into a blank firing grenade, I drew a mock up for a bolt/ firing pin with basically a ball on the end for the impact part. I went to my local hardware store for some bits and cost £4.50, got to work assembling and drilling a whole for the safety pin to go all the way through so the firing pin can not touch the 209 primer even when dropped, firing only occurs when safety is pulled out and grenade is thrown to the ground where it’s hits the rubbed door stop connected to the firing pin and thus detonating. And if the latter, what unit did you buy?

GenuineGerman
On a positive note the positive stop fits, could be 0.5mm small but they do the job. Although I have made more than I will need now.
Rory
Found an old ASG tri shot in a bag under some stuff in the garage. Was never a fan of the pistol grip, so took it off and decided to make a stock that suits my “larger than usual “ chip shovels (hands, for those struggling). MDF core, then built around it with foam pipe cladding and paper maiche to make the skeleton. Got some wooden packers on the pistol grip, and waiting on some tape and resin to finish it off. Will post a finished pic soon gavinkempsell, Rogerborg and Enid_Puceflange

Purely functional, or aesthetic?
Rory
Functionality, also a degree of boredom. I previously had the Franchi SAS and didn’t like the fit of the pistol grip and stock. I replaced that with an m870 which was comfier for me. The principle for this bodge is that I’ll have the longer curved handle (similar to older shotguns) and the stock length tucks into the crook of my elbow for swift cocking. Which so far when I’ve been manhandling it, is comfortable. Still a bit to do, I’ll let you know if it’s a tremendous success or a complete disaster Rogerborg
