ghostwalker
A fully adjustable 2 point sling. Works in a similar way to the british army sa80 one without the need for the clips.
mightyjebus
still in the design phase but this is the latest project. It's the Stribog SP9. I'm aiming to make the lower work with EVO Scorpion mags. Pappa Large

I have a two-point sling for most of my guns but don't like how I can't cinch it tightly to my body if I need to like you can with the L85 sling. Mind posting what you made? mightyjebus
work continues on the Stribog. Inserted a 3D gearbox and hop unit into the upper receiver to work out what I need to do for the lower for it to all fit together. So far it looks like I will need to move the front retaining pin forward to accommodate the magazine. 2 main parts left to do, the barrel and barrel block and the lower receiver. I'll probably just use an existing M4 grip instead of making something from scratch. Pappa Large

mightyjebus
work continues. working on the lower receiver now. because it is going to use scorpion mags I'm going to make it have a paddle style mag release. for anyone interested the smaller parts will be SLS aluminium printed, the lower receiver with be cast epoxy polymer, the outer barrel will be a metal 6 inch barrel extension which will be fitted to a 3D printed barrel block. The only question I'm mulling over right now is how to make the upper receiver. TheFull9
mightyjebus
took a break from working on the lower to print out the upper on my fast 3D printer which sadly doesn't have the build volume to do it as one piece. Once printed I've glued it toether and I'm printing off some of the smaller parts to see what needs adjusting.
mightyjebus
folding flip sites fitted and working under spring tension. Fake bolt works however I need to add a rod and spring so that it moves forward under it's own power. The idea is for the bolt release to be manually engaged, like the real thing, to hold the bolt to the rear and then when released the bolt shoots forward. Turns out I'm 4mm too wide on the receiver so I've spent some time thinning the parts down to the correct size. I'm working from pictures from the internet and a pair of calipers so it's never going to be the exact dimensions of the real thing (unless someone has a real one and wants to share the measurements ) I tried converting the upper receiver STL file to STP so that I could get a rough price for CNC'ing but for some reason my Freecad conversion doesn't want to work on the companies program for STP files. I thought I'd see how much it would be to have it SLS printed in aluminium but that was around 500 quid to best I figure out the STL to STP thing. Here's a few photos of the current progress on the too wide body. I'm printing the new parts now so I can continue to tweek the design. mightyjebus
I should probably start my own thread instead of clogging up this one. Spent a bit of time thinning the upper receiver etc to be more correct in scale to the RS version. Printed out all the bits and put it together to see what needs adjusting and surprising very little it seems. Work continues on the lower and it's about 70-80% complete. In the first photo you can see the difference 4mm makes. (new on the left and old on the right). here's a mock up with stock and red dot.
Popular Post mightyjebus
finished the main shape of the lower. working on the mag release (push button instead of paddle now) and just need to finsih off the bolt release lever and exactly where to make a hole for the fire selector. On the plus side the Scorpion mag fitted in the magwell first time which is a bonus. SBoardley, Pappa Large, THE FNG and 2 others

mightyjebus
Lower is coming along nicely. right hand side is pretty much complete however I'm going to make the fire selectors longer, tinker with the mag release internals a bit more and I'm toying with making the bolt hold open spring loaded so that when you pull back on the charging handle the bolt locks to the rear automatically. ignore the horrible printing on the lower, I have some surplus Matt PLA which is terrible and I'm waiting on some more PLA+ to turn up. mightyjebus
So I'm about 90% done on the design. still got to do some cosmetic stuff on the right side of the lower receiver and mess around with the mag catch some more but nearly done. (just a thought..if I make this, will this be the first ever UK build AEG?) PopRocket123, Skullchewer and Pappa Large 2
mightyjebus
Going for the Tokyo Marui prototype look here. Mock up in 3D resin proved fruitful as I need to adjust the butt cap as it's a bit tight and the designer is an idiot and managed to design the mag release spring tension the wrong way so that it always dumps the mag instead of retaining it. These should be easy fixes. Anyone want to buy one when I'm finished? TheFull9, gavinkempsell, Speedbird_666 and 1 other 2 1
mightyjebus
took a break from the SP9 build and designed and printed a front end for the Saiga 12K as I'm running it CQB so need somewhere for a torch and front grip. SSPKali
Double gap pistol kywi became two pistol mag holders. One had the kydex insert trimmed to allow a speedloader to sit fully in the pouch. Added the modded one to the side of the Spiritus MkV to allow me to reload 3 MWS mags on the go. Saves lugging another 1.5kg of mags around 😁 Shamal, TheFull9 and Wavey_Gravey 2
Speedbird_666
I have been slightly obsessed with the Crye MR-C after the Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter game 'back in the day'. The gun itself was never more than a mockup - but I've always wanted to build one, even sketching out the idea in photoshop ~15 Years ago: I have been learning to use Plasticity 3D recently and I love it - so as a learning exercise I decided to try and build a 3D model of the MR-C based off the very few reference images of the real thing (there are loads of references of the in-game model but they are not particularly accurate) Mockup Pics: WIP Plasticity 3D: Quick and dirty Fusion360 Renders: Still got a fair bit to do - I'm not 100% happy with the grip shape and the mockups didn't have triggers, so I'll have to guess on that. I will also model the Grenade Launcher at some point too. Not sure if I can build it into any kind of functional airsoft gun - it would make a pretty cool wall-hanger. Speedbird_666
Pretty much finished the MR-C Model - I luckily came across a couple of official Crye renders of the gun (via the Internet Archive from Crye's own website ) which made me realise that the proportions were wrong. So I basically rebuilt the whole thing again, but I had a lot fun doing so. Seems like the real thing was a very small gun - just over 700mm, which is fixed-stock MP5 territory. @mightyjebus Don't suppose you have a V2 or V3 GB model that I can use to check if it's viable to build the gun? I did model one myself last year - but lost the file. Tackle and TheFull9 1
mightyjebus
This is the one I use: https://grabcad.com/library/airsoft-gearbox-v2-g-g-1#! looking at your model it looks like the V2 will be too tall so you have to get creative Speedbird_666
Speedbird_666
55 minutes ago, mightyjebus said: it looks like the V2 will be too tall so you have to get creative You are right. The GB will fit - but a motor will not. Oh well. If I had money I would consider an HPA-specific build negating the need for the GB shell/motor, but that's out of my price range. Finding a long enough length of Picatinny extrusion for the upper rail in the UK is a ballache as well (the front end would be a 38mm Aluminium box extrusion with metal rail segments bolted on) so I will shelve the idea. Had fun putting the model together though.
