When you ask a question please do so using red writing that way, it's easy for people scrolling down to find a question.

When you answer a question, please quote (this will make sure the person gets a notification and they can click on it to open your answer straight away and it also lets people answer questions from a while ago if there have been new questions since then) the question and reply in blue writing so we know it's an answer.

If you feel a question simply cannot be answered in one brief post, or is open for a lot of debate, create a topic to discuss it, and link the topic in your answer so everyone can find it.

best place to buy combat gear?

looking to purchase multi cam black jacket / pants / plate carrier.

Depends on your budget.

http://www.uktactical.com/ and http://www.military1st.co.uk/ are good, but wait for sales on stuff. If you want decent reproductions of carriers and pouches, try Flyye (they're a brand/manufacturer) - best place to buy them is from AliExpress, DHGate or http://store.specwarfare.com

For issued kit eBay is usually your best bet as http://www.flecktarn.co.uk/ for new kit used by various militaries.

Honestly though the best prices are always gained by someone who Googles for 15 minutes and picks the best option.

Edit

Also I didn't read your question properly but luckily Jedi did. Sorry.

OPS brand make a range of multicam black clothing and kit. It is sold by UR Tactical in HongKong http://www.ur-tactical.com and by Hueys in UK http://www.hueys.co.uk/epages/es151784.sf/en_GB/?ObjectPath=/Shops/es151784/Categories/Brands

Lowa are a decent brand, I have had them in the past. They are gore-tex. UK Tactical have 10% off until midnight tonight.

5.11 make some good kit, no idea on their footwear. I noted that the boots had two drain holes (like jungle boots) which will let water in and out again. Less ideal for winter.

Of the two I would get the Lowa ones.

No because a little bit will extend past the start of the barrel into the hop unit.

But it's not the end of the world. an inch here or there would not make a jot of difference. Personally I have a habit of dunking my muzzle in the dirt so keeping the barrel slightly recessed is a good think imo.

Yeah at the moment, I'm bouncing around what to do. My current gun has 27.5cm inner flush with the outer, worried if I started to muck with this I could need deep pockets to match the outer to the inner. I'm surprised there is not a standardised resource for stuff like this. G&P produce so many outer barrels, but I can't find any way to determine which inners go with them at different lengths. Not that I have a G&P receiver.

I've got a Grip Pod that's got Krylon type pain on it, is Fairy Power Spray the best way to remove it or would I be better off lightly sanding it and then respraying it black?

Try nail Polish remover steal some from your Mrs thata what I use when I spray something by mistake comes straight off for me

I don't think so, they don't do one that's thin enough.

The g&p is 15mm x 10mm x 165mm

would this work - http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/store/__67727__Turnigy_nano_tech_1300mAh_2S_25_50C_Lipo_AIRSOFT_Pack_T_connector_.html

just a smidge over but reckon it might be ok to fit in ak dust cover

sure Ian uses these or stuff like it

Make sure it's acetone nail varnish remover, won't effect any plastic part, you can pick up a cheap bottle at boots etc for about £1
