I might have finally gone too far...
Careful VSR-X, custom brass parts made myself, Spring Custom Works SV-98 chassis and carry handle, real POSP 3-9x42, Monoloc adapter, white phosphor PVS-14. Uses custom cut 55 round VSR mags, overhops anything lighter than .46gs and can easily toss .69g BBs 120m (videos on YouTube to prove thats real range and not "airsofter range"). Monoloc and PVS-14 come off for day games obviously.

So Im finally remaking my hybrid mk23 after mine was stolen last year. Building pretty much the same gun but doing some modernization to it. One of those things is the replacement of the Novritsch optics rail and replica Trijicon SRO with a custom mount and a replica Aimpoint ACRO P-2. Only took two versions to get the finished project. I printed it vertically so the layer lines wouldn't cause any sheering breaks due to pressure put on the optic. Pics are of v1, while the screenshot is v2 - its currently printing.

Because the zb26 is unavailable and very expensive when it is sold second hand.
Fair enough, though I see new ones pop up somewhat regularly here stateside. In fact a new batch is supposed to be available next month.

Question - why not just use a ZB-26/ZB-30 as the base? Its essentially the same gun, and would enable you to focus your efforts on smaller details like the mag and bipod.

So theres 3 AR-like 308 platforms; the 417 platform, the Scar mk17 platform, and the AR-10 platform. If two of those three are out, then theres your answer. Youll want to look into SR-25Ks. This one from my local store is my favorite version so far - Im tempted to buy it every time I go in. Or buy a standard SR-25 and get a short barrel and handguard for it.
417 is still a more Gucci platform though...

To me it sorta depends if you want to go the LSW or LMG route. RPKs are the quintessential LSW and by far the most common LSW, but for good reason. V3 gearbox, large amount of external customization options, smaller and lighter than pretty much all LMGs and a lot of LSWs, its just easy to work with.
When it comes to LMGs the A&K 249 (old style or middleweight) is the starter of choice by far. Generally v2 gearboxes do not hold up too well to the increased strain of LMG fire (although in the UK lower power limits will help some) so the LMG gearbox found in most A&K replicas is the goto. Now a 249 build can be a simplistic or as complicated as you want - for instance mines now approaching the $1500 mark but a lot of that is unnecessary. A 249 *can* be run stock, but personally I consider the Bullgear hop unit a must have on any LMG they support. Keep in mind the box mag will die eventually - some people get a good few years out of theirs while some people's die almost out of the box. Bullgear does make inserts to fix this problem and I consider them upgrade #2 after barrel and hop work. They increase mag size, are massively more reliable, have tuneable feed speeds, wind with trigger pull and a button, and some of their standalone mags look ace (like the circular mag I got recently.
For performance I guess they'll both preform similarly OOTB, and Id do the same upgrades to both before I would personally field either (Retro Arms AK hop, new barrel and bucking for RPK, Bullgear hop, new barrel and bucking for 249). Another thing to keep in mind, a 249 (besides the featherweight which I do not recommend) will come with a box mag while a RPK will come with a high cap, meaning theres added cost to either grab more mags or a drum for the RPK. At the same time, you can easily run high caps or even mids in a RPK, and while it is possible to do the same in a 249 they dont usually work perfectly in one. I personally own probably around 15 different LSW, LMG, and GMPGs by now and I dont own a RPK as to me theyre just everywhere and I am a bit fancier haha. Personally if I went LSW Id be grabbing my L86, Galil ARM, QJB-97, or AUG HBAR before I went for a RPK, but again thats just personal preference.

It's earmor mount and earmor headset. I got it all from Poland. From Specshop.pl
Sorry I am not very proficient with forums, no idea how to quote what I am responding to 😕
You can do so by hitting the little "quote" button under a post. Or, for a multiquote hit the little "+" sign next to the "quote" button.

Please note, there is a difference between semi-spam and picking your shots on semi. A titan isnt necessary on a NGRS, but an upgrade. A good one, but an upgrade nonetheless.

That's a great looking kit. I was wondering about your headset as i've also been looking for one that attaches to the rear mounts of my helmet and you happen to have exactly what I want. Personally, I don't need it for comms, more for aesthetics and the active hearing protection. Where'd you get it from? What's the sound quality like?
Those are OpsCore AMP Arms, or a clone of them. They're a fantastic bit of kit and IMO both hold earpro a bit more evenly on the head and are easier to swivel off the head than the two-prong wire ones that attach to the top rail. Plus they allow you to use your upper rails for whatever.

Not much I can currently do about the tiger stripe, but a little doctoring of the ol facial hair can get something close to the desired effect. Only works with the face covering as the full beard ruins the look overall.

I put grey but why not have a mix?
The black would look better with some silver pen wear. (Paint silver onto your finger and rub it on the edges)
Likewise the grey one would benefit from some darkening in the grooves.
Ima throw these around on the field a few times first before I start making them fancy. Thats one of the major benefits of having your own printer - you can make a new shell for like 2 quid or something. If they hold up I may look into making them look more visually accurate.

Hey all. V5 of my M16 EPM1-S shell is approaching perfection and only needs some slight internal tweaks (literally tenths of a millimeter in two places will separate V5 from V6), and now Im debating which color I want to make them in. I have a mid-gloss black that I have been using for awhile, and a new metallic silver as my primary options. Both look good IMO and very much like what you'd expect from a VN-style M16 mag to look like. Since I can't decide I figured I'd open a few polls and get outside thoughts. They will mostly be used in my PTS N23, aka the smolest of M16s.

What shells are you running through this dude?
I think you can get a different barrel to allow APS shells to be used
So I currently have 12 APS Smarts, with 25 XPowers on the way. This is actually the already-converted APS version, with steel parts instead of the orange painted ones. -

Been working on more EPM-1S shells, this time to make them look like M16 VN 20 round mags. Can be printed in one piece, with no additional hardware needed. As close to plug and play as I have come with a design as of yet. V1 was an attempt at adapting my 417 EPM-1S to fit, and was dropped early. V2 was a shell to test general fit. V3 fixed the internal dimensions to allow the EPM-1S to slide in fully - the print failed at about the 85% mark but it still allowed me to test dimensions so I still count it as a success. V4 was the initial "production" model, with the appropriate slots in the mag to make it look like a VN mag. A bottom floorplate was added for the EPM-1S bolt and plunger. The mag catch recession was shrunken to fit within the slots. After printing I confirmed V4 is a working model and I could stop there, but there were a few small details to be added. These included moving the bolt hole 1.9mm forward to align better with the hole in the mag itself, and the plunger recession was modified to fit the more ovular nature of the plunger.

"Downed Airman" Vietnam kit is just about done - close enough to share at least. I still need a faithful shotshell pouch and due to the EPM-1S mags being taller than standard 20 rounders I need to either get 30 round mag pouches or general small arms mag pouches - still undecided on those. Also waiting for helmet parts to arrive - some missing bolts, fresh straps and foam, etc but none of that is visible so itll look the same as it does now. Ill actually play with it with the visor up and proper eyepro instead, but for pics visor down is Ace.

John Wick SRS scope

Posted
Bipod is a standard Harris-style picatinny/1913. The scope... Well, unless someone posts a good-quality screenshot showing some sort of logo or trademark I dont think we will ever know. IMO it looks like a Vortex Diamondback 3.5-10x50, with an aftermarket oversized zoom adjustment ring. These are sometimes used instead of throw levers as theyre less likely to get caught on things. Its a $300-$400 scope here in the US. Hes got some very low profile scope rings, but as said above youll probably need to go at least mid-height to have it be useable.
