Sorry not seen any of those about outside of rifs that have them integrated. I didn't want a bipod dangled off the bottom o my dmr so went with some like these.... https://www.ant-supplies.uk/rifle-bipods/m-lok-handguard-bipods.html theres keymod too, leapers make some too, in this style. Good luck in your hunt.

Glad to see people being sensible, there was a pack of youths trying to survive on cans of a monster type drink last time out in the heat and they all dropped with headaches. I'm always surprised at peoples lack awareness of kit and prep for conditions. So many have nice kit but don't have hydration on/in it. Drink lots over the days before and keep sipping slowly throughout the day. I have bladders in all my kit and usually leave additional water in a spawn bag, with gas and bbs, with more in the van too.

Looks good fella. The nose is 'period correct' as a lot of the tourer/adventure bikes had the pod style front end. Part of me quite likes the back rest.... don't worry, I'll see myself out

That's about right, I was looking at some others last night and even some phone sleeve things that are coloured and they all seem to go up to size 22cm circumference, not a chance that'll fit.

Those look great! I tried some of the stretchy bands for football teams etc and they weren't up to the job. Even with max stretch they wouldn't go round my arm. The patrol base ones don't mention as size so waiting on a reply for those. I like the idea of the ones I found on airsoft world but the stocks gone.

Most of site I play at use coloured tape to mark teams, it's gaffer tape or something similar, and I will often drop layers off during play and I was am looking for an armband to use rather than tape which has to be re applied. I know enola gay have done some neoprene ones but the stock is limited both in amount and colour. Does anyone know a good place to get that type of armband? Something similar to the enola ones, which isnt out of stock.

the title mentioned first mag, does it happen regardless of which mags are used?

Love that film, great sound track too.

That's the style of setup that was at anzio last time I was there, with a pair of skan chrono and two staff.
-
I'd leave it as it is, it's your choice though.

Super-general-purpose do-everything mag pouches...?
concretesnail replied to RostokMcSpoons's topic in Guns, Gear & Loadouts
If you want polymer 'pouches' the fastmag heavy pouch is awesome. I have one which I have on a horizontal dangler connected to the rear of my rpc. Really easy to draw and reinsert my 308 mags and its never once slipped a mag. -
Smokes are great for night games, especially the ones you can active quietly and without a light signature.
-
Night games are some of my favourite games. I don't run nvg, d never manage to get the funds together to purchase some. I do run weapon lights on all my rifs and they are all currently setup to run red light as it effects your eyes less when compared to white light. As a basic light find something with a momentary tail switch and gaffer tape it to the rif in a position where you can active the switch with your chosen digit. As to what to expect, that depends on the players and the site but I'd suggest that you be prepared to listen more and rely on your ears much more than a standard game day. Concerning getting rinsed, that will depend on how you play. Like I mentioned I don't have nods, but I have played a lot of night games successfully. Set you kit up to make as little noise as possible, work on your movements and poise, and you can be extremely effective. As good as nvg are they often have a narrow field if view and if they don't hear you they aren't like to look your way until you open fire. Have fun.

Yes, i did mean they have had a range of bb weights at the chrono station. Sorry, i should of been more clear.
-
I've just started on this wipe last night, so a few days behind.
-
The range of weights at anzio is fairly normal and has been for while but the website rules list could be written to cover all the site they run, as a starting point. As they have quite a few sites I'd expect there to be site specific adjustments, though I couldn't say for sure as the only site run by F&O I've played, within the last few years, is anzio.

Its unfortunate that was the case but the joule creep effect can be abused. If it was me I'd try to tune the system to reduce the effect to mitigate the chances of it happening. Playing devil's advocate the site owner is trying to find a workable solution that follows the rules set out by the insurers policy, there maybe additional conditions following previous incidents, and something that is reasonably practicable for a site so large.

Just as to add some balance to hat has been said. I appreciate that what has happened with the OP and his friend is never going to feel good but it is a policy that is try to prevent what has happened in the past reoccurring. Which is challenging with such a big site and potential high player count. What I have found at anzio is that chrono stations are available as are a range of weights to test and check that rifs are within limits. The briefing, although some have moaned that it's too long, does cover the fact that they run spot check and random chrono throughout the day and what failing that results in. Its harsh but like I mentioned before, it's in response to previous incidents. While joule creep is something that is possible with all the systems we use to play it is much more open to abuse within hpa setups. It. would be nice to see a clarification on the sites rules as to how they intend to test in the play area for spot checks, that way responsible players can check their setups and tune accordingly, especially if they are genuinely honest and decent hpa users. On a personal note i know I've been there with a freshly built rif post modding and it's been on the bleeding edge of limits and despite passing chrono, I've put it away, knowing that a fail of a spot check means. I also tested a brand new bolt action build which was over limits and staff were fine with me putting it away and using something else, although this is all done before the start of the day at the chrono station rather than post briefing in the game area. In the end I feel that the OPs friend has unfortunately fallen foul of a system put in place as a blanket cover to a broad issue that not all players understand the physics of, and the potential insurance issue which could ensue. Sorry for the long post folks.

Super-general-purpose do-everything mag pouches...?
concretesnail replied to RostokMcSpoons's topic in Guns, Gear & Loadouts
I have one of the double warrior quick mag pouches. They do work or m14/scar h/ 308 magazines but I don't like it as much as using an AK pouch, specifically the open bungee style with the bungee removed and a kydex insert. The reason I prefer the ak pouch for the 308 mags is that the double taco type looses some grip once one of the magazines is out of the pouch. -
Dmr to whether you'll get the most from the dmr role will depend on what the sites you play are like in terms of dmr rule sets (most of my locals dmr has to be dmr calibre, not long m4 etc) and the terrain. The way that some sites grow up in the summer; the loss of longer sight lines and the MED meant it is so much harder to be effective. In regards to the heavier bbs, it's a must; limited shots and controlled MED means rounds need to have a better chance of getting to and of being felt by the target, so a bb that will hold on to its energy better and be less effected by wind etc makes sense. Cost wise I dont find it too bad. Yes they dearer, but I'm using low and mid caps only, even running all my midcaps I'd still be carrying less rounds than a single high cap mag so 3000 geoffs last a couple of days at least. Before sinking a pile of funds into a dmr use an aeg as a dmr for a few days. By that i mean play in that dmr manner; only use single shot, give yourself a MED, force yourself to either not take the shot or transition to a sidearm. If you are comfortable after that then the extra range you can get with the dmr will just be a bonus. If you find it too frustrating then as your still effectivly an aeg, you flick the fun switch and charge back in. Personally I play dmr-esque anyway, having only recently returned to aegs from exclusive gbbr use. Low cap mags and semi only was easy but I've recently dropped a softer sping into the 308 to get back under the aeg limits and given myself a 3rnd burst. The reason being that with the sites I'm playing currently the range i have is more than enough with the rif well built and good ammo. I can help team mates more by being effective in the ranges the site has and I can still play my low cap, flanking style I like. Long post I know but hopefully it's relevant.

The 'How Did Your Airsoft Day Go? Thread
concretesnail replied to Skara's topic in General Discussion
I've played somewhere where they wanted no more than one round per second for a dmr. I know the perun mosfets have dmr mode where you trigger won't function beyond the set rate. -
I know your pain, been thrrough it many times with the council. I'd bet they'd have a better chance of licking their own elbow than producing a system that works.

Any battery which can supply the demands the gearbox should work in theory, there are some buts though. Some oem cheap out on parts and though they should run fine on 11.1v they don't and they go fizz pop and let out the magic smoke. The other thing is discharge, if a gun doesn't have low voltage cut off then it will continue to draw and lipos don't take kindly to being drawn excessively low, best case is that it'll just wreck the cell, worst is it goes full fire pop. I prefer lipos. With care and understanding they have great output for the physical size and a good battery and a good charger goes a long way.

Marmite. Glorious marmite. Drizzle it on top of crunchy peanut butter, so good.
