  1. I believe the JG is all plastic and the CYMA has metal upper and outer barrel but of course is quite a bit more expensive. Apart from that JG have decent internals so they probably perform about the same.
  2. Only thing I can think of is faulty/dirty output valve. (the one at the top which is hit by the pistol striker) Take it out and clean, inspect and oil it. (You'll need a valve tool but they're cheap) Other than that I can't think of anything. Maybe send to a tech?
  3. Its an AEG with their BAW recoil system (Orange plug). (Not to be confused with the black plug version which has weaker recoil) Needs 11.1v to run and it has decent kick https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LXCy8qvgxNs I might do a video of it
  4. That's true, the AA is a WE clone and all parts including upgrades are compatible. I don't know if the WE is really better though. I did get mine for a lot less so at £200 its getting very close to WE price.
  5. Hi and welcome First thing to do is read up on purchasing rules. You'll have to ask one of your parents to buy it and it will have to be painted a bright colour ('TwoTone', usual choice is Red, Blue, Green) Also look at Jing Gong (JG), CYMA and Specna Arms for good & well priced gunz. If you intend to use it for actual skirmish games then you should also look into getting a couple of LiPo batteries and a decent charger. Search the forum for 'lipo battery' and 'intelligent charger'.
  6. I have to disagree with that statement 🤔 I got a Lonex BAW recently and I can compare with my three GBBRs Its a bit different feeling of course but the kick is pretty close to that of a GBBR.
  7. I've got one and although I haven't used it in a game it does work quite well and its cool that it comes with two magazines. Can't comment on longevity with lots of game use though. (I did replace the cocking handle for metal one) If you want cheaper with a bit of work to paint: https://bbguns4less.co.uk/products/army-armament-r36-g36-replica-gas-blowback-rifle-in-blue.html Or the K model: https://bbguns4less.co.uk/products/army-armament-r36k-g36k-gas-blowback-rifle-with-scope-in-black.html
  8. I don't know about either one but when I searched for EBB on YT lots of videos come up about the Bolt so thought it would be worth you looking at. From what I've seen the Bolt has more recoil effect but you can only get the AKSU74 I think.
  9. Lonex M4A1 BAW (Added XM177 flash hider) I LOVE this thing! The kick along with the sound is actually quite scary. (I just hope it lasts a while)
  10. Welcome 👍 All the info you need is in the forum. You just need to do lots of reading and then ask specific questions that we can give our varied opinions on 😆
  11. Welcome John Its a great hobby for bonding with the kids. All your questions can certainly be answered by searching the forum and doing plenty of reading 👍
  12. Yep, in that case get the ones from PatrolBase 👍
  13. Welcome! Don't worry about going on your own. It just means less distractions so you can focus on whats going on and being said. You'll soon be talking to people around you anyway. All the info you need is in the forum. Just do some searching and a lot of reading 😉
  14. If you're sure you can use 11.1v in your AEG then you can get this one for about the same price: https://www.vapextech.co.uk/airsoft-11-1v-1450mah-25c-lipo-battery-with-case-lp211-vapextech Most AEGs are more suited to 7.4v like this one: https://www.vapextech.co.uk/airsoft-7-4v-2600mah-25c-lipo-cranstock-battery-with-case-lp305-vapextech
  15. I don't have any experience with that particular model but I have several other JG toys and they all perform very well considering their price. Of course they can be improved but generally out of the box they are skirmishable with reasonable expectations. Barring the bad luck of getting a lemon (just send back) it should be a safe purchase 👍 Search YT for all the videos about it...
  16. 8th May at Skirmish Wycombe 👍 https://www.ticketsource.co.uk/skirmishwycombe/
  17. Yep, as above... Whatever feels comfy and seems to protect better. Don't forget to squeeze the mesh to fit snugly around your nose.
  18. That's a tough one. It obviously looks like its running out of gas but I presume you used a full Co2 cartridge. Does the slide feel smooth when pulled back slowly? (anything catching?) Look for areas of metal wear to see if things are causing friction. If you have some silicone grease, put some on the gas vent of the magazine to help with the seal.

  20. I had a generally good experience with them too. Bought a Lonex M4A1 BAW which was delivered quickly. On testing something went wrong and motor span freely (I thought gears or piston had stripped) I called to explain the problem and James said they would arrange pickup. Took a few days to sort out and then three days with no comms before I called to find out what the situation was. I was told someone would call back with info but that didn't happen. Couple of days later I called again and James answered. He explained he'd been out of the office due to car trouble and he would call me back after checking status. (So things don't run so well if James isn't there) He did call back same day but apparently the tech didn't find any problem with it. So he said he'd test it again and let me know. Two days later a package is delivered and there it is... Seems to work fine so I don't know what went wrong. (They did improve the bolt release button) Even though their comms were non existent and it took a bit over a week, (with no apparent work done to it), I'm generally happy with their after sales service. 👍
  21. Yeah, it did fail during first testing. The retailer arranged collection and is currently fixing it under warranty. I'll write up a full review once I get it back...
  22. Yeah, Just have a gun at retailer for warranty repair (fault from new) and wondering generally how long the warranty would be afterwards. Of course my main concern is future failure in case the fix is not up to spec. If you're interested I'll make a post about the fault when I get it back.
  23. Bloodyhell, that could have been nasty if it was more powerful.
  24. Hiall, Just wondering on your experience with repairs... If you've had a gun repaired by a tech or shop, I presume you had a warranty to cover any further problems? How long did it cover? Cheers
