My WE M9 v2 has the smoothest slide action of all my pistols. It does perform well too 👍 While I certainly understand how a plastic slide is lighter and just as strong as the pot metal ones, I still like the heft of full metal 😉

From my experience I would caution on Co2 pistols (magazines) While they do have good punch, even in winter, for me the downsides out weigh the benefits. - More expensive to run. - Can't top-up gas so you may run out at an inconvenient time. - Faults get expensive as you will waste a bulb every time if there is a leak. Out of curiosity looking at reviews of the TM FNX it does look good. Anyone had experience of the VFC or Umarex versions?

You need to use wet sandpaper around 1200grit with a block. (I find small figure 8s better than circles when sanding)

You're better off looking for something you like the look of and then finding the best one to buy. JG might also be worth looking at. The ones I have perform above the expected price/performance ratio.

I'm in a sub category because I like to collect as well as play. I'll take a couple of different RIFs to a game day as backup but also to vary the playstyle. For example and M4 for one game and MP5 or AUG for the next... I do open them up and tinker when they need it but I don't 'upgrade' for FPS or ROF. About half of my collection are second hand that I have repaired or improved. I haven't spent more than £250 on a RIF that I use in game. (I have spent a bit more on collector ones like the M41A)

Yeah, I've done a search for PMR446 WTs and found the Retevis RT24 and Baofeng BF888s look interesting. I'll see at my next game if they would come in handy.

Sorry to hear GoopGoop. Yeah Brexshit really messed things up because before that they were really good when I had a faulty rif and sent it back no problem. Since it doesn't work you may as well open it up and it may be a simple fix. If you can't fix it you should be able to find a tech who will. Some of the £100 saving could go to repair and it may still end up a bit cheaper than buying from UK anyway.
