There are certain pistols that work quite well in winter. As mentioned the MK23 is highly regarded. Keeping mags warm is the key. Red/Black gas can provide enough power for most cold days.
There are a few downsides to Co2 power.
1. More expensive than green gas.
2. Much higher pressures so failures can be more catastrophic.
3. Magazine leaks can be very expensive to fix because when testing if a valve is fixed you will waste an entire gas bulb if it still leaks.
4. Harder to manage usage. You can't top-up when you want. You have to empty the gas bulb before replacing so you might run out in the middle of a game.
Something like a Scorpion Vz61 or Mac10 AEP might be a better compromise though more expensive and still not as good as an AEG.
I agree with the consensus that gas pistols are more effective and certainly more fun to use.
If you want something for CQB you can't go wrong with the good'ol MP5 AEG 😎
Following the thread title:
The WE Browning Hi-Power MK3
Its BAD but I love it anyway because...... its a Hi-Power MK3 😄
(To avoid breaking the striker as so many have, the slide has to be racked before inserting the mag)
I use silicone grease on the slide and spring guide. A small amount of silicone oil on all moving parts.
Mags do need green gas but not pure propane. (Check them every month or so as they may lose gas slowly)
Interesting for a movie type gun but looks quite impractical for actual use. Why is the lower so big? Does it have an integrated 'grenade' launcher?
Couple of aesthetic notes:
- Unclear how the slide works.
- The selector behind the trigger will make it very uncomfortable to hold.
- Its hard to see but the grip design should be inverted so its a bit thicker at the back and thinner at the front. (I would also add slight finger indents to the front)
Good review 👍
Obviously things will change from day to day so It'll be interesting to read your overall review after the three game days.
Once you have UKARA, I can also recommend Skirmish Wycombe which would be a bit closer to you.
A full cylinder will help up the power. New motor and Maple Leaf will not do much in that regard.
A stronger spring is the main component affecting power once you've checked the air seal is good.
Someone will help with the best spring... (My guess is M110 or M120)
Going from 7.4v to 11.1v will cycle faster but put much more strain on components.
That does sound like a badly designed/managed game.
There's no point playing if there's no way to win.
It may be the last of the day but jeez, simple zombies would be better than that.
