Worked in a shop quite a few years ago, the mark up on the guns wasn’t very much. However the longer they’re sat on the wall, the more overtime they cost the business. I used to jump on multiple gun deals for that reason, you’re in a strong position as a buyer on that front. Airsoft shops aren’t like Primark with a huge flow of customers through the door, big deals really helped offset the slower days and the ever increasing overheads. I imagine that’s why a lot of shops are now just online only unfortunately. Make the most of being able to go to an airsoft shop and support them, they’ll be happy to see you and make a deal I’m sure.4 points -
I know some stores price match others as long as it isn't on sale and it's in the UK. Asking doesn't hurt, worst they can say is no.4 points

Or for the more discerning lover who wants a bit of maturity without too much grey wool, you'll want a Hogget. Lamb 0-12 months (hard to catch) Hogget 12-24 months (spritely with attitude) Mutton 24+ months (doesn't care what colour your wellies are) 😉3 points -

Recommended quiet NBB pistols?
ibo7 and one other reacted to 1st commando for a topic
the Maruzen NBB P99 is as quiet as the Mk23 and actually a nicer pistol to use too. However they are only made in small ish batches so you might have a little while before one comes up2 points -
Is there any scheme in place to allow members to make small donation, or big if they're flush, towards the running costs of this forum? With Arnies now gone I would hate to see this great resources to go the same way. I know these things take time and effort but what about a run of patches and stickers too? Second thing Is these blooming non airsoft adverts at top of pages, I assume this is a cost thing to cover costs, but any chance they could at least be more relevant to airsoft than Funeral Adverts!? Anyway keep up the good work.1 point

I always found the staff there really helpful. My mate and I drove over a second time and ended up melting cards with random springers, stuff they'd just got in that wasn't on the website and stuff we definitely didn't go over for. Enjoy.1 point -

I remember driving from Prestwick over to Fife to get a good bundle deal with the guys from Airsoft World, but that would have been 15 years ago. I was buying for the site and for myself so it was a fair whack. Not sure what the margins are these days, and I wouldn't want to horse anyone over it, but I'd always ask. "Shy weans* get nowt", as my grannie used to say (*for those confused , wean is a term sometimes used in Scotland and Ireland and other places for children. )1 point -

It's always worth asking them if they will do a deal for 3 , and that's best done face to face . I manage a Jewllwers and will always listen if someone asks about some discount , but if they start taking the piss and being pushy I start increasing the price . Ask them , be polite about it and see what they say.1 point -

Yeah was shooting at 400fps when I first tested it. The mag was just a spare high cap I had laying around so I pulled the internals out and superglued the pin back in to give some rigidity to the top of the mag. Wiring is still into the mag as it's just the better place for it tbh. If I wanted to make the profile smaller, I could get a short mag and put a peq box size battery in there.1 point -

It is. I had to drop the spring down to a M110 to get it inside the limits. No idea what it came stock with. The hop unit is a bit strange, it's like a M4 and P90 hop put together and the inner barrel has a fair bit of movement even when assembled so I pushed an O-ring into the space between the hop unit and the inner barrel to hold it a bit more secure. I had to glue the nub to the hop arm as it kept getting stuck in place when winding the hop off. Gearbox looks to be a standard V2 but without a quick change spring and all the internals appear pretty much standard except the nozzle which is a long brass thing. Really should have measured it. Not sure what's going on with the rails on this - I had to really force the angled grip on and my KAC style rail covers just will not fit at all - it's like the rails are ever so slightly wider than all my other RIFs. The mock charging handle is a bit loose because the spring is about 3-5mm too short so it has some play. I have no idea how to take that apart so it's staying as is for now.1 point -

Are you a cloner that has too much money? Do you have to have real steel everything? Do you enjoy bragging rights and spend your days airsoft talking kit rather than pew pewing? Well have I got the item for you! I’ve had this mounted to a PTW upper but never used it, it’s never seen sunshine, it’s just sat on an upper looking all Gucci and unloved. I purchased it new because shiny and after a sesh thought it be cool to make a mk18 upper without really thinking about it and now I have a wedding to pay for, she must have the correct flowers apparently. Rail comes with all fixtures and fittings, original packaging and minimal marks from mounting and removing from upper and some luxurious ergo rail covers to protect your delicate hands, because you’re worth it! Thrown in for a bonus is another barrel nut that was a manufacturer defect for added “oooos” in the safe zone. Price is inclusive of PP&P and will post recorded & insured. I’m aware it’s not cheap, joys of cloning and to purchase new in the UK with postage you’re looking at nearly £700. Thanks to ITAR you can’t order direct from the USA so a very select few places sell these rails. I do have the original invoice so you can laugh at me. Please please please to save disappointment ensure your upper has RS barrel nut threads, PTWs and a fair few GBBRs have RS threads.£500

A stock MK23 and socom supressor yes. If you start adding 3d printed stuff and fart flaps the MK23 is probably a touch quieter. But as I say I use the longer supressor on mine. It's quite nifty with proper baffles and cones inside. But we tested it at the receiving end and you couldn't tell someone was shooting at you.1 point

The "Share A Bargain" Thread
timski reacted to Cooperman26 for a topic
I again have to share an AlieExpress bargain! https://a.aliexpress.com/_EIrQyAQ took a punt; and it’s a gem. And cost me £28.79 as I had some coupons that saved me a couple of quid more, but still cheap without them! And it works. And same product here at PatrolBase; https://www.patrolbase.co.uk/wadsn-x400-vampire-tactical-pistol-light-w-red-laser-strobe-version and PB have it on sale at £63.99! again, a bargain!1 point -

fun project. Picked up a worn PTS Masada AKM from Strykerles with a few known issues. Originally it looked like this: I stripped it completely down, removed all the old paint and replaced the micro switch in the gearbox which was goosed. Cerakoted the upper receiver with Magpul flat dark earth, put in a new front sight and replaced a few other bits. Turned out pretty good.1 point -

WARNING - Scammers pretending to be AFUK Moderators
Hyena reacted to Jedi_Master for a topic
Scammers are messaging members direct with guns for sale and pretending to be Moderators at AFUK using our usernames. Do not purchase anything from them or give them your details. Report to the Mod team. We do not have friends, family, or team mates with items for sale. We would only sell guns via the Classifieds, in a proper advert, not by random direct messages. If in doubt, send us a PM.1 point -
TM are only really expensive because they are all grey imports. They are cheapish in Japan. Also other stuff is creeping up you are paying £300 and up for high end Chinese and Taiwanese gun. even guns that were a £100ish pre COVID are now pushing £200.1 point

Tokyo Marui Price increases
Hyena reacted to ruskitseller for a topic
Ah interesting thanks. It is a shame, but nothing we can do about it I suppose. I still think nearly £400 for a last gen AKS74U is ridiculous. Don't get me wrong, I am a big TM fan. TM can afford to do that though, people will still buy it, but it may just siphon people into other brands a bit more.1 point -

Hi guys, just to let you know there's a new moody scam attempt going on, appearing to target sellers & purporting to be from the forum itself, telling sellers their item has sold & to click on a link within the message to complete the sale. Seems to be originating from Russia, not sure what happens if the link is clicked, probably a trojan horse type virus to mine your info. Don't fall for it, obviously if you get one let us know so we can ban them immediately, here's a screenshot of the kind of text you'll receive:1 point
