Half of the stuff on there is only for looks. The trauma shears might be a bit much and the blade of the knife is glued in the sheath so is useless, but both it and the TQ look as cool as the VIP light imho..... And everyone knows that Airsoft is as much about looking cool and dressing up as it is the actual shooting. ? Anyway ..... Dangler pouch inbound ??2 points -
There's two schools of thought; add a specific pouch if you have a need for it and ONLY if you have a need for it, or put any pouches you want on because airsoft is fun and who says what you can or can't have. Many would argue that the average skirmish game needs neither trauma shears or a bundle of rope but it's up to you how you play toy guns in the woods. No-one else. Personally, I like a dangler pouch because it helps protect the middle age spread but also gives me somewhere to stash pyro, or keys or whatever other minor bits I decide I might need.2 points

And it's intended to blind and dazzle. As they said at the Depot brief "We don't want someone finding out they're epileptic while standing at the top of the stairs."2 points

The sight of tourniquets in a players gear always worries me, and if you’re carrying tourniquet & scissors do you also have the rest stashed in your pouches? …. And know how/when/if to use it ? There is the dressing up element of airsoft, but it does imply a readiness which shouldn’t be the need of the average player, and therefore if you’re that prepared you’re carrying a lot of extra stuff If it really came down to it in game that a tourniquet was required from a passing player, a makeshift tourniquet can be made from the more average items carried by players (((Practice is of course required - but not on real bodies))) “Life not limb” was my instructors favourite phrase, and for the timeframes we have in the UK for an emergency evacuation beats the length required for limb loss risk of a tourniquet. For starters on that kit (unless it is a dress up set) I would lose the tourniquet (unless you can bring up real examples of potential needs in game - in which case I’d worry about the site), the scissors aren’t taking up much but be extra wary of the stitch counting airsofter who sues you for chopping up their ultra rare original SAS ninja trousers when they’ve strained their ankle falling over a tree root, and the rope is overkill complete with bush snag detection Personally, I’ve done it all - from all the gear no idea, to t shirt, jeans and a pocket1 point

Update! I have acquired the Cyma CM041 H and it's a beauty. Unfortunately, the Tokyo Marui drum mag does not fit. Now I shall begin my quest for a longer outer barrel and a good adapter for the drum mag. Thanks a whole bunch guys, you helped me lots!1 point

So, after shifting the wall around to make space for the "free" TM toys that i was given, the P90 made its way to its new home. I imagine i'll get tech duties on it for a while as it hasnt gone far. The M4A1 has been coming along slowly as the two part hop that TM graced it with was missing along with a few other bits, so thats been a work in progress and the G36 hasnt actually come out of the box other than to remove the mother of all 8.6v NiCad battery that was still in it after 10 years in storage! But, after a day of gooning around at a skirmish, i got the offer of a WE galaxy pistol with 4 mags, for the lowly sum of £60. So i bought it, cos why not. The thing is like a hand held cannon. Overhopping 0.28's and generally being 1.02J of pocket silly. I'll get a pic up when i get home as its nothing to look at at all but jees, it can lob plastic for a pistol!1 point -

Anything rubber will probably have dried out so yes, as you suspect it's going to be new hop rubber, gas seals etc at a minimum. Depending on what sort of lube and level of maintenance you were at when the guns went into storage then I'd certainly consider a good overall service. Batteries - absolutely. Get some new ones. If you have Nimh type ones then they've been roundly replaced by LiPo (go for 7.4v ones though). If you already had LiPo be grateful they haven't already burnt your house down and get rid! New seals are cheap, just change them over and then you can sell as "refurbished" rather than "serviced but might still leak like a sieve".1 point

Returning After Long Break - Essential Maintenance?
Kha0s reacted to Emergencychimps for a topic
Honestly?! Id just buy a basic specna arms type aeg. There has been a massive improvement in the quality of kit available in 10 years. Now, you could regrease everything, swap hop rubbers over and buy new batteries, and it'd cost less but the aim of the game is to have fun. If you dropped out previously it's because you didn't find it fun enough and I'd advise to do the thing that's most fun. Ruining a couple of games days as you do some maintenance and realize it needs more of this or that isn't worth the savings you'll make or the feeling you're being out performed. This route might cost you the love of the hobby. Personally if I was determined to fix up what I had, new hop rubbers, new 7.4 lipo batteries and a barrel clean. If opening the gearbox and greasing is needed.....well then id just buy a new one.1 point -
Easy decision for me. I'm equal opportunities. I shoot anyone on the opposing side. If you're well enough to play and shoot, you're well enough to be shot.1 point

What Do You Want
BenJackson reacted to ButcherBill for a topic
I kinda agree with the above, but... on a serious-ish note, the only influence I imagine any "large airsoft company in the UK" could offer me as a consumer is a better variety of non AR or AK based rif's. I could easily be wrong here but as a fat balding 57 yr old with some disposable income & an interest in UK/NATO Cold War era kit I'm paying through the nose for surplus gear from abroad as the UK distributers constantly have kit listed but, out of stock when I want to empty my wallet. BB's are expensive but plentiful Gas is expensive but plentiful Rif's are expensive but I understand why stock may take longer to obtain by companies as stocking inventory ain't cheap Some rifs are harder to find in the UK but plentiful in the asian markets(for obvious reasons), & for us in the UK there are many hurdles our imports have to leap before they are finally delivered to our doors & constantly hoping all the t's were crossed & i's dotted between HK/Taiwan and No5 Hopeful Crescent. Our laws are tight in the UK & rightly so, I just wish some unobtainium rif's could be bought from within the UK (or from 'our European warehouse'). On a personal note... more Uzi's, more L1A1's (especially with wooden furniture), more GPMG's, more Sterlings etc. I'll be visiting Raresoft asap due to their selection of items. All you have to do is visit the 'What have you just bought' section to see what members of this forum want from retailers in the UK.1 point
