  2. Yesterday I headed to Level 2 Airsoft in Atherton, first time visiting the site, but I had heard good things about it and had watched videos on Youtube so had an idea of what to expect. Chrono was well organised and went smoothly We were teamed up and myself, lads and their mates were all on the same team so that was a bonus. Teams were 18 a side First game was a standard Team Deathmatch, and for me the perfect opportunity to try to familarise myself with the layout of the area, and boy did I need it. After my first death it took me almost 5 mins to find my spawn ? We lost that game by I think 95-88. Second game was Attack and defend the bomb sites, we were tasked with defending, and to be honest I never even saw the objectives once in this game as we were too busy skirmishing in the jungle area, but come the end of the game we had only lost one of the 2 sites so won the game Third game was domination, and probably the one I enjoyed the most as I took to capturing and defending the middle objective in my stride, even managing to clear the obective of 3 enemy players and then holding it for almost the rest of the game. Really enjoyed that one and got the most kills of any of the games we played. We ended up winning quite easily in the end Fourth game was another bomb game, but this time we were tasked with trying to detonate the bomb at a random location, it took us almost 10 mins to find were it was and we did manage to arm it once, but the oppositon managed to defuse it and slowly pushed us back towards our spawn point. We tried in vain to get back to the bomb but to be honest they had it pretty much locked down and we were unsuccessfull, resulting in loosing the game. Final game was an attack and defend where you had to take the objectives (x5) to set locations on the map and defend them when you placed them down. Both teams had to use the same 5 objectives but get them to different locations on the map, so it made for some intersting firefights. To be honest I have no idea who the round as we didnt get to hear the result. Managed to get some nice kills and tested the TM pistol out. Have to say makes a huge difference having a tracer unit They run a loyalty scheme where Game 9 and 10 are half price so well worth getting a card and having it stamped each time you play to say some pennines Its cost me £23 for the afternoon session, actual game time running from 4-7pm with about 5 mins break in between games Overall I had a great time and would highly recommend the site to others, we have booked back in for the 22nd to play again

  3. Today I went to that curate's egg of a site, Splatoon in Essex. My main reason for going was to set up three newly acquired and upgraded guns on their well marked out and very clear 50m range. More about one of these later. With this done and the safety briefing out of the way, followed by the briefing for the first game, we set out to play fallback through the barrel yard, the barricades and the two parts of the container field; after the attackers had cleared each area, there was a reset before they could attack the next. As the defenders, we had one life in each area, while the attackers had infinite regens on a marshal. This was a reasonably hard fought game and we were slowly pushed out of the first two areas; after we had set up in the first half of the container field, the enemy began their assault on that. I was positioned in the pallet pile; four enemy players ran past me and positioned themselves on the back of a structure about 15-20m from me. I had a perfect line of sight to them and put a couple of rounds into each of them; two of them took the hits, while the other two turned around and returned fire! I had already shifted position and flicked to three round burst, which they took. Our defence collapsed pretty quickly in both parts of the container field; the attackers completed their mission in 42 minutes. When the game was turned around, our assault was noticeably slower; a few of us tried to keep the momentum going but most of the team seemed unwilling to press forward. We ran out of time after an hour, while we were still clearing the final area. By then, about half our team had already gone back to the safe zone; a few left at lunchtime. After lunch, we set off for a game called Smokes. Starting at opposite ends of the container field, each team had to collect three smoke grenades of their colour (purple for us and yellow for the other team) from a marshal who was at the far end of the site, bring them back and set them off in three locations in the container field. We split into two groups, one of which would get the smoke grenades, while the rest of us attempted to secure the locations; this resulted in some good fights, during which I got some lovely kills, including one from a couple of nicely aimed shots under a car. However, one enemy player located behind a door was blind firing around it by shoving his gun around the edge of it and firing wildly. A few of us shouted at him, pointing out that he was blind firing, but he persisted, so a few three round bursts aimed at his hand were deemed necessary. The enemy won this game 3-0. When we returned to the safe zone, more players disappeared. The final pair of games involved transporting a VIP in the form of a very large stuffed toy zebra from the lower end of the field to either of the helicopters in the container field. Our much diminished team made a decent attempt at preventing the enemy from doing so, but were overwhelmed while trying to split our limited resources defending two locations. When the game was reversed, we failed to break into the container field, while the chap carrying the VIP ran around in multiple directions. I got a number of nice kills on players in the upper levels of the container village and around some of the structures, but it was all somewhat frustrating. Thus ended a somewhat average day of airsoft. Weapons used: JG FN FAL (SA58) ASG XP18 Commander (CO2) Classic Army ISSC Mk22 (An Austrian designed .22 version of the SCAR, because clearly the world needs such a thing!): it only lasted for a very short time before the extremely torquey brushless motor destroyed the CA spur gear, which appears to have been made from the most brittle material possible. I had suspected that this might happen, but it was interesting to see.

    AFUK patch

Well, I see the lack of patches being sent to members as disappointing, if I thought for a second it was a scam I'd be pissed off. I had to start a new account after I totally messed up trying to join my last account so have no intention in paying for another patch if it's not coming, I like this site and how it's run so would certainly buy another patch if they were available. So, how about this... does anyone have a contact that could make the patches and sell them in the classifieds? If it's done through paypal the buyer would have some recourse should the item not appear. If a Mod or Admin objects to this idea please state your reasons.

    What have you made?

More modded than made, and not me but @Anonymoose (absolutely top bloke). Outer barrel lathed; gas block mounting area cut down from a full M16 front sight length down to the compact block length for the Geissele style gas block. Little mill cut done on the top for the locating pin. Also drilled the bottom to add a slot for the locking spring pin, since neither of the original 6 o'clock slots in the barrel for the mil spec front sight pins lined up with the hole in the new block. Mag release button hole in a totally unknown blank AEG receiver set filed just slightly, now fits the BJ Tac Geissele mag release which EBA listed as AEG, but I reckon is probably GBB. I believe I've fitted a GBB mag release to my Krytac LVOA though so fingers crossed this will actually function correctly once the gearbox goes in.

  7. Bought a few things the past couple of months, but been neglecting to post them here... Back in November, I bought an acetech volcano and a trio of acehive moscarts with spawner speed loader... then didn't get a chance to play until last weekend... got a few good kills and a lot of "what the fuck was that?!" December just had some boring restock orders... bbs and gas Then last month I spent some of my Christmas money on a Begadi M1 mine and motion sensor unit, along with some spares in case it gets damaged in use (but having got my hands in it physically, I'm not so sure that's actually going to happen) Finally this week from land warrior, I bought some triple mp5 mag pouches, intending to use them for my kriss vector mags, but found they are too small... fortunately I'm planning on getting an MP5 down the line, so they won't be wasted. Also bought a laylax recoil adjuster for the GBB vector, but last weekend I found the gun was misfeeding, so I need to sort that first before I begin modding it

    What have you made?

Few little jobs today: The barrel on my SCAR-H SSR has a necked down section just behind the flash hider that looked odd. Had a spare M16 thread protector that i bored out and cut down. Bit of test fitting and light cuts to get the flash hider clocked to have the flats vertical. It doesn't look quite right but it's better. Also made an ally charging handle for it, instead of the plastic one it came with. Just needs painting now: Then converted a spare 18C to a 17 G3 as i'm nicking the full-auto bits for another build. Some little milling cuts inside the slide and made a "spacer bar" that sits under the rear sight:

  12. Nowhere near as fancy as other builds here but meh. I decided to do a "paracord" (a boot lace really) wrap and sling loop on my GE 870 as there's no way to attach a sling. Nowhere near the prettiest job but it does what it's supposed to

  13. Ha! There is no single right one. ? It's how you end up with sidearms, CQB guns, sub-machine guns, assault rifles, sniper rifles, support guns. All with different attachments. Maybe GBB for good weather, AEG for the colder days or higher capacity. Sometimes you like a gun so much you buy another just like it. ?

    AFUK patch

Like you say, it is concerning ?. I think the majority are supportive of a forum/community, just a shame when it's good name gets tarnished through, well, dishonesty. Honesty is one thing I like with the airsoft scene. Would be good ? must be a decent honest tech savy graphic designer on here....to make/sell an even better patch ?

    AFUK patch

Been reading this thread for a while now with increasing intrigue. I’ve always been quite a staunch advocate for the forum and its community. However (and unless there’s something going on that I’m missing) this whole patch business and the apparent radio silence from the relevant admin is quite concerning.

  21. Quite astonishing that he pulled that stunt and then walked away, in London at that. I expect - I hope - some questions are being asked about that. Excellent, and the right charge. It's about time costards got prosecuted for these shenanigans. Pointing it at people crossed the line into criminality. Hmm. I wonder what that was. Hopefully not the RIF. They'll have turned his house upside down, and I expect found plenty of other spicy stuff, some of which may be on the specifically prohibited weapons list.

Just waiting on my Brownells order to arrive for a Hogue AR-15 grip, but I told you it wouldn't be an M4A1 for long... Easy enough to swap it around to being a near-enough A1 or A2, and had the m203 for about 15 years now but it never goes on anything (and probably won't, but I figured I'd include it because it could). Internal upgrades are a Stalker 510mm inner barrel that goes all the way to the flash hider, Flamingo 50d hop rubber, Jaeger Precision titan nub and NPAS. Same setups as my other MWSs so it should perform really nicely (different barrel lengths though, and a 60d in the mk12 because that's a DMR)

  26. went to the Red Alert boot sale today and got a bit of a bargain. Vector AEG, 3 long mags, 1 short mag, 1 drum mag, 3 Lipo batteries, sling, red dot, Odin speedloader with adapter, Lipo bag, Vector bag and few odds and ends for £160.

  29. Last gun for the foreseeable future. It'd take something special like some sort of TM GBBR SR-25 (because I don't trust VFC) to come out, or something to catch my attention in the classifieds. This will not remain an M4A1 for long...

  30. A nice fast delivery from HPA-UK... Cyma MP5KPDW. This genuinely surprised me, it's got some weight to it & firing 321.6fps 1.2j on .25's. BUT, omg where the hell do I put the battery??? oo-er. & a wee addition for my HK416A5, an E&C Warden 3.5" suppressor.

  32. As much as I love my 1911, I really wanted something with a double stack magazine as they seem to run much better in the cold. Add in a polymer frame and you've got something that should run year round. Really pleased with this VFC/Cybergun FNX but my oh my is it a big boy.

  41. The MR-C is structurally complete. Just needs filling, sanding, filling, sanding...etc...then eventually painting.
    1 point
  42. Finally started a Crye MR-C build. I've been wanting to make one of these ever since GRAW came out on the Xbox 360 - 3D printing (and affordable design software) is now making happen after being on the back-burner for over a decade. It's just a wall-hanger/prop. Maybe one day I'll make a functional Airsoft gun but I'm not too bothered on that front. Still have a good dozen hours of printing, then numerous more hours of sanding, filling and painting. Stitch bitches should note this takes design elements from the two mock-ups I have found in my searches, and Crye's own low-res 3d renderings (they all differ slightly), along with some small creative liberties taken on my part (i.e trigger and ambi fire selector).
