Hi All, Im a newbie to here and also to Airsoft in general, My eldest lad got me intrested in it and looks like I am getting hooked I purchased a starter bundle to get me going - A Nuprol Delta Pioneer Defender, seems to be a reasonable beginner weapon, and yes I know its nowhere near as good as some of the others out there, but for now it will do me fine Ive added a Red Dot sight, laser and foldable foregrip, plan on maybe putting a tracer unit on it Ive also bought some midcap mags for it Got a Dye facemask, a vest and gloves Plan on getting a pistol at some point, but that will be after I get a UKARA Go nice on me and any advice is greatly appreciated for a newbie getting into the Hobby / sport3 points -

The Sheriff Spas 12. Around 100 or so were made in total (never seen any documentation of actual numbers), with half being a full-auto type, and the other half being the more desirable semi-auto version. Both utilise a "Push Valve" system. BBs are fed through a tube magazine system where the gas tube is. The heat shield, stock and hook are made of steel, as you can tell by the "patina". The trigger guard is cracked, but doesn't affect use. A working version, of the most desirable model of the rarest production airsoft shotgun in existence. £700 to your door, or collection from Manchester. I will not risk this in the post and will deliver myself.£700

Oof, I'm very sorry to hear that. What @Tackle said, contact whoever you used to make the payment and ask them to do a chargeback. Don't go into details, just "I paid £400, the event was cancelled, the vendor isn't responding". You've nothing to lose by trying. Best of luck.3 points

Welcome in both respects! It very much sounds like the airsoft bug has bitten, believe me you’re in good company here. You’re spot on about your first purchase and moreover you’ve actually done it the smart way by not blowing a metric shit ton o’money on your first gun, that’s a mistake many make who later realise they ain’t that into it after all and are then seen on Mack’s (you’ll see what I mean) trying to get back the grand they spent on it in the first place. Advice wise is just enjoy it, it’s a great way to spend a day with your lad, I dare say he probably loves the fact that you play alongside him. Its also worth remembering that most days you’ll get hit more that you’ll hit others, you’ll feel like you’ve gone a round with Bruce Lee the day after and you’ll also end up spending a few bob in addition to what you already have! But it’s great fun and this place is absolutely golden for questions and advice, there’s some really knowledgeable players on here (not me) that are only too happy to help. Enjoy!2 points -
Double Eagle dex 556 bucking compatibility
ak2m4 and one other reacted to The_Lord_Poncho for a topic
I can't recall whether DE (or at least your model) uses a hop arm with a captive nub. If you are getting no hop really at all, there may be a possibility that, in the process of changing the bucking, a non captive nub had dropped out of the hop chamber entirely, and become lost. Possibly able to be checked by removing the hop chamber, holding it upside down, and applying hop to see if the nub moves into view. If it is missing, and the hop arm really can't be removed, then you might be lucky enough to be able to place the nub back into position with the hop unit upside down, and hop fully off - and slide the nub into position via the main body. Or you could install the original bucking back in assuming you haven’t damaged it when you removed it, check the range, to verify that loss of the nub isn't the issue Of course, the other possibility is that the process of changing the bucking, and maybe the bucking itself, has messed with your air seal - i.e. the nozzle from your gearbox isn't playing nicely with the lips of your bucking, and you are losing a lot of air (and therefore power) this way. When you are sure the gun is unloaded, turn it upside down and without a magazine in place, place a small bit of tissue over the bb feed tube part of your hop unit. If the tissue is dramatically blown about (and not just from vibration) when you fire the rifle, that would start to indicate that this is the case. You can either try other buckings (not all buckings are compatible with all hop units/nozzle lengths), or try a cheap ZCI hop unit in the gun which appear reasonably universally adequate. The 4uantum buckings seem reasonably well regarded, so they should be doing the business if there isn't a compatibility issue (or you haven’t lost the nub!)2 points -

You should not be allowed anywhere near an airsoft field; you encapsulate everything that is bad about this hobby. I am not fighting fire with fire; I am calling this person what they are. Anyone who sets out to run a gun 50fps over site limits and is happy to cheat the chrono is an utter cunt who has no place in this hobby, regardless of of their gender or where they live.2 points -
Welcome to the hobby and the disappearance of your bank balance! When starting out, I wouldn't make a fuss about what you've bought, just that you spend wisely, which it looks like you've done. I got a used Nuprol DPD for almost pocket change as a loaner for one of my friends getting in until he had his UKARA sorted out and I'll keep it for others.1 point

@TheRizzCommando to quote a British saying "two wrongs don't make a right", meaning just because other people are cheating or ignoring safety rules, doesn't justify you doing the same, & telling us so just lowers our estimation of you. Regarding our gun laws, I'll assume you're referring to airsoft, so ask yourself, how many people here have had masks destroyed by hot guns, like your gf. The answer is likely to be none, & that's how we like it. Why is it you joined a primarily UK forum to ask advice, especially as our rules are apparently dumb according to you, are there not stateside forums that might be more pertinent to you, populated by like-minded players who like to openly discuss bending the rules.1 point -

My son was 4 years old when he first shot me, sounds very irresponsible I know, but there is a backstory. Was about to attend my first game, having never been shot with an airsoft gun before I had the bright idea to let my wife shoot me, just so I didn't squeal like a piggy when it happened on site. Hand her a glock19, walk about 50 feet down the garden & turn to face her, "do it" I yelled & braced for impact😬 8 shots later she still hasn't hit me, so my little boy says he'll do it, so she carefully gives him the gun & helps him hold it at arms length.........bang, first literally zips past my ear, so close it almost had a crack like a real round, I leg it towards cover, too slow, the next shot hits me in the nipple, i squeal & he thinks its the funniest thing in the world. Fast forward 23 years, hes got a 4 year old of his own, but still loves to shoot his dad, only now dad shoots back😈1 point -

The WEagle is a perfectly capable, durable and functional sidearm (well, just 'arm' - it's huge) stock (pretty sure it's one of the few pistols where 'just get the tm' doesn't apply, many place the WE higher than the hard-kick TM version), it's just very receptive to upgrades and a little tinkering as you can get some admittedly crazy performance due to the nature of having a fixed barrel mated to pretty much a rifle sized nozzle. I just followed the Explosive Enterprises video to a T and I'm very happy with the results. It looks the part, feels the part, is very robust and has by far the most blowback recoil out of any other pistol in my collection. Would recommend for sure if you're interested in a Desert Eagle as I doubt you'd be disappointed. I like throwing parts at things because it's fun (when it goes right) and lets me moonlight-larp as a pretend gunsmith, even if in reality I'm spending a shit-tonne of money on pistols I use about 10% of the time during play lol1 point -
I think he likes the fact he can shoot me and get away with it, then again the same goes for me when I shoot him and my other lad1 point

Hello and welcome. As others have posted the Nuprol is a good choice for a starter gun, don't think that more expensive always means better performance. Also don't start thinking about "upgrades" till you've used it a few times. This way you'll have a better idea what you want from it Well done on avoiding the usual newbie mistake of buying a whole load of kit that you like the look of that gets used once before being consigned to the back of a cupboard.1 point -
Ahoy and welcome. I hope your lad has realised that his inheritance is now coming in the form of toy guns. The Nuprol is... well, affordable. If it feeds off of generic M4 midcaps that's probably a decent sign that it's not full of weird components. Long term, you'll rarely regret having a basic AR as a backup / loan gun. The Dye is a good shout, you'll never regret money spent on eye / face protection. Out of interest, what site(s) are you playing at? I ask because lasers are prohibited everywhere I play.1 point

Gav, she deserves the stick, if she'd been a bloke playing a UK site we'd be severely pissed at what she admitted, I don't think being female & in the US changes anything, anybody with a blasé attitude to site rules & safety should be banned from said site. I considered banning her from here given that @The_Lord_Poncho gave her very good advice, which she immediately chose to ignore, virtually trolling us with her response. But for the time being I'm happy to let it run, see what other gems she discloses lol. You know how it is here, banter, piss taking, even a slightly heated argument is acceptable if the subject being discussed is pertinent, but her admission is up there with some KM level shit, guaranteed to trigger most players.1 point -

I agree, raise the complaint & don't close it until you've got your mags (& are happy with them), or the full refund has cleared, as each transaction can only have one dispute raised. You'll be surprised how quickly companies sort things out once a dispute is raised, as technically if they get too many paypal can (but rarely does), withdraw its services.1 point
