The 'How Did Your Airsoft Day Go? Thread
Anonymoose and one other reacted to El Zomba for a topic
Spent Sunday morning at RIFTs new Blackstone CQB site in Huntingdon. First impressions are that it's really good. They've obviously put a lot of time, money and effort into it. The set-up area is massive, with plenty of space for everyone. The permanent White Sphere Tactical shop is full of nice shiney things for you to buy. The vending machines were a bit of a ballache, but there's free tea and coffee-making facilies on site should you wish to partake. Organisation is up to the usual standard at RIFT. The long and thorough briefing made sure everyone knows the score. Costas and the rest of the marshall team are always on hand and friendly. Games were short, about 20 minutes a round, two rounds a game, with teams swapping spawn points each round. What you lose in time, you gain in intensity. There's lots of corners to hide around but you're mostly able to flank the campers, so you're rarely safe and have to keep moving, keep pushing. Game modes are the usual mix of CTF, bank raids and bomb defusal, and are fast-paced. Most of the games had limited spawning/lives, which makes play more deliberate and suits the smaller nature of the site. As for how I did... Ups and downs. The first game was a mare, as I was learning the lay of the land, the pace of the games, and struggling with a shotgun run on duster gas because it was too spicy on green at chrono. For the following games I was more confident navigating the maze of killrooms and alleyways, switched to an MP7 and had great fun sneaking up on the unsuspecting. The only game that let the session down was towards the end and was was a CTF variant with VIPs and infinite respawns. The opposing team dominated early on and it turned into a meatgrinder, with a 30 second play loop of spawn, try to push out, get shot and move back to spawn. No whinging about the other team as they absolutely nailed it; more that the rules didn't work that time around. The only other complaint was the use of pyro. It's an indoor site and you need something to clear corners and rooms, but having a flashbang go off at your feet gets your bell rung. My ears are still ringing 24 hours after. Some poor sod had one go off near his face. All an accident, the marshalls were on it, and no one was being a dickhead, but it if you're going to allow flashbangs and grenades at an indoor site, you should really make earpro mandatory, even if it's just foam earplugs. Every little helps. If I'd known, I would have sorted myself out. Anyway, new site. All these gripes will get ironed out and refined as they go. But the foundations are there, and they're solid. It's a really good site, My pals and I had a great morning and I think it's going to be our go-to over the winter.2 points -

Cannonfodder and one other reacted to Tackle for a topic
@Frankierafie you've been here nearly 4 years, & your eventual first post is to try to coax members over to your own "platform", I should be deleting this thread & banning you, but this is THE forum for the airsoft community, where, within reason, free speech is allowed & anything potentially positive for airsoft is encouraged. So, unless the head mods decide otherwise, this was your one chance to advertise your existence, I'm locking the thread but members will still be able to view it, read your posts but also the responses & make up their own minds whether your place is worth a look.2 points -

Up for grabs is this absolute workhorse of a gun. Comes with 6 mag all gas tight Shoots great, served me very well during the summer, was shooting 1.1 joule on abby 144a Hop is really good and I was hopping .36s to great distances. Occasionally when shooting bursts on full auto, it will not shoot when you pull trigger , but then switching to semi it will shoot fine and again and shoot fine when you put back to full auto, not sure why this is, the trigger may need a good clean. I do really want to keep but wanted to raise funds to get an occulus quest 3 , so if anyone has one and interested in a trade will consider otherwise its cash. 330 all is with delivery and paypal fees£315

Budget Nov AFU clone
The_Lord_Poncho reacted to Speedy Sloth for a topic
So I was browsing and I found this https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1005008123115196.html Looks like a clone/maybe the rejects from the production line for the Nov anti fog unit. £13 seems a steal, but I do wonder if it has the same issue of being made from a weak plastic that can't take a bb strike. Not a fan of having a potential re active lithium target strapped to my head.1 point -

No, i think it's a 19 slide on a 17 frame effectively. It's kind of a tan 45 but without front serrations on the slide, without flared magwell and with an exposed lanyard loop.1 point -

Amazing collection. So i looked this up but found no answer online; it says Glock 17s and 19s were sometimes issued. A while ago when entering an Air Force base, the guy at the gatehouse had a tan/FDE Glock, and going by memory it had a lanyard loop on the bottom, which says to me it was a 19X. But nowhere could i find reports of them being issued 19Xs. Have you heard of them being used here? Had what?1 point -

The 'How Did Your Airsoft Day Go? Thread
Cannonfodder reacted to El Zomba for a topic
@Cannonfodder About 10 minutes or so. Enough to do your admin before the next game briefing. Game briefings were fairly quick too, other than a couple of moments where rules had to be re-explained (rules around stairs were a bit complex, and turned into a Q&A), and a warning about Pyro (after the incident mentioned above). Not much sitting around at all.1 point -

Cannonfodder reacted to El Zomba for a topic
@Cannonfodder I was there on the Sunday and just wrote about it in the 'How did your day go?' thread. They run an AM and a PM session. We went for the AM session, got there for 8. Safety brief/site rules started at roughly 9:15. It is RIFT, so the brief is... comprehensive. We had five games. The first three were two rounds each with spawn swaps. The last two were one-rounders. Each round was about 20 mins. Breaks were about 10-15 mins; enough to bomb up and get a drink/have a slash/have a smoke before the next game brief started. All very quick and organised. We weren't sure whether we'd get our money's worth for a half-day, but you do. It's very intense.1 point -

No worries bud. Yeah I'm not sure. What makes me think it's a hk33 is size of ejection port and how thin the barrel possibly is. But it's a poor photo. Thing is with N.I. tours. They used alot of weapons for short periods as trials or specific things. But only a handful ever became "issued" or given an L designation. For example, the British army in N.I used the m79 "Blooper" extensively. But was never used anywhere else that I'm aware, or have seen. But I'm not going to go down that route too much or opens a can of worms.1 point -

Are you sure it's the ris rail and not a wobble between upper and lower receiver? I've had similar wobble that turned out to be receiver wobble. Some ris rails also have a tightening lever thing that allows you to tighten them to the delta ring. If there's a screw on the top of the rails that can tighten this lever. (picture from an lct ris rail with this lever) But all that aside if there's a wobble then there's space somewhere and you need to find it and remove it. Best of luck!1 point

Hi mate, I do have those and tend to keep them open for buyers to refer to if need be - just before the item arrives. But even after using the "hide" option, the message still comes up. Maybe its because the post is only hidden and not removed per se. Not sure. 🤔 I am guessing this does mean that there is basically a 10 advert limit per week which resets at a certain point. Cheers1 point

The about us section would disagree Our platform serves as the ultimate hub for airsoft enthusiasts, offering a unique blend of a marketplace, forum, blog, and events dedicated to all things airsoft. So which is right? If I had a pound for every time someone announced the next big online platform for airsoft, only for it to amount to nothing I'd be very rich1 point

Tough day at Imperium. Nobody’s fault but it’s an open grassland site on the coast during a storm. If I hadn’t booked in advance because it was the last Ground War of the year, I wouldn’t have bothered going. Didn’t successfully hit a single person I aimed at all morning (although I did catch a few of their neighbours). Still enjoyed it at points though, as me and a pal managed to do some sneaky stuff collecting the missile objective without being spotted or indeed firing a shot. Still planning for the Battlelakes day on the 7th then I think I’ll have a couple of months off.1 point -

The MP9 Comes with tactical devices mounted like an airsoft mimic DP-Pro, A DBAL, A Wadsn M300a, all functional. Modified with a Airsoft Artisan retractable stock. It also comes with a mock suppressor, metal one. The MP9 blank firing is fine, and works as intended, but when loaded with BB at not too cold temperature it starts to have feed issue. i.e. the bolt does not goes back enough. I am quite experienced with GBB but the internal seems no issue. I checked the seal and everything is fine. I gave it to a local retailer they say its common issue and ask me to HPA it. There is a spare steel disconnector available. The disconnector seems to be a fragile part in KWA mp9. I swapped back to factory disconnector only because I want to make sure its not causing the feed issue. (Note: the BB feeds fine if the magazine is at high temperature, but as skirmish progress it does get cold and get that feed issue. It may really be a common issue with the KWA mp9 I'm not sure) Together there is 5 magazines. Most have obvious cosmetic marks. Paypal please, buyers pay PayPal fees. Available for collection around South Kensington, London Note: Please provide valid defense for purchasing£350

Presumably seen the posts in here given the edit - No mate, we will mock you mercilessly for that level of pisstake. Edit: worst case (and glossing over the fact that most recent GHK AK's barely work) for prices on everything in that, someone could replicate it brand new for slightly over £1600 - its not special in any way, nor is it rare, so why is his asking 70% of new.1 point -

CYMA MP5 - Semi auto broke
The_Lord_Poncho reacted to Ace Airsoft War Games for a topic
Hi, I had this issue with most of our CYMA MP5 rentals using NIMH or 7.4 Lipo, would fire no problem on full auto but semi would be very hit and miss if at all. After lots of head scratching we noticed that on full auto people tend to usually pull the trigger quite hard and it fires, so we tried the same principle on semi pulling the trigger like really hard and IT WORKED every time!! Turned out to be worn out and dirty internal trigger contacts in the end. Hope that helps.1 point -
