Wow. That would set me back a new set of eye pro for pretty much every time I play - I'm not sure my finances can extend to that! I would like to think that any eye pro that is materially weakened by a hit or two shouldn't be on my face in the first place.3 points -
Was pretty hesitant on using AliEx for a while, but the one thing I've been needing to add to my whole gun collection is more/better optics as I'd had the same couple of red dots/scopes for years and would swap them between guns, but that was getting tiresome and they were all pretty long in the tooth anyway. After spending a while learning to navigate the weird way that shops on said site are laid out and (mostly) getting to grips with what product is actually what (because there's loads of store fronts all advertising the same physical products but at slightly different prices), I placed a few orders while on a nice little 4-month excursion work sent me on. Picked up clones of the Leupold HAMR and LCO (D-EVO still incoming), latest Spuhr mount, Elcan Spectre 1x/4x, Vortex Razor 1-6 w/Geissele mount, ACOG TA-02 and an Aimpoint 3x magnifier. Plus the below EoTech and other Vortex bits. Also swung by Negative Airsoft today, he'd done some work on my Scorpion Evo, my old CA M15 and I'd commissioned a borderline scratch-build M4A1 AEG. Technically it started as a CYMA Daniel Defense Mk18, but I think the GB casing, buffer tube and a few other small gearbox internals and tiny screws are all that's left of the original gun. Long story as to why, but there were many reasons rest assured. I still 'need' to change the OB, handguard, pistol grip and stock (and maybe other little things down the line) to my own parts to make this my ideal early-2000s America's Army M4A1 but that stuff I can easily do myself. Whereas I don't have the skill, desire or parts inventory to work on AEG guts and the gun is already sounding/shooting absolutely tip-top.3 points

Half term regret sale https://www.airsoft-hub.com/item/34815-bulldog-m4 "around 4000 BBβs Iβm trying to get rid off" Then use them as a deal sweeneter along with the battery, charger, extra mag and broken speedloader, which probably won't fetch a great deal more than a tenner at a used airsoft fair. Yes, you'll have to drop the price way, way below Β£150. Half that isn't unrealistic.2 points

The MWS needs nothing doing to it OOB. You were probably getting jams through crap BBs. Try Geoffs - widely acknowledged as the best. GBBR needs better BBs than AEG peasants.1 point -
The 'How Did Your Airsoft Day Go? Thread
Galvatron reacted to Wayfaring Stranger for a topic
My first ever airsoft game was a half-day CQB at Battle Stations, Snetterton last Saturday. For about three weeks before that Iβve become obsessed over airsoft guns, and made an impulse purchase of a two-tone WE G17 gen4 (which has a pretty nice blue slide, the quality of these GBB pistols seemed to have improved since earlier reviews in 2018/19). About a week later after visiting a few airsoft shops, I purchased the Tokyo Marui M4A1 CQBR BLOCK1 rifle from firesupport (they still have those 3 extra mag offers). Also got the Dynamic Precision nozzle set, and NPAS, so that I could swap them for use with green gas, and make sure to be within power limit (the rifle worked fine with stock springs on the day with 0.28 gram BBs and within joule limit). Got to plinker them at home for a little before visiting family, and while I was away, made a spreadsheet documenting all the parts inside of my M4A1 CQB, which was valuable in understanding some of itβs functionality. One of the main reasons for getting the Marui MWS was the parts availability (and documentation, being an engineer, this is not to be underestimated). Did the same with the WE G17 (although gen4 different from Marui gen4, the parts are mostly interchangeable). Also before getting to this CQB match, I found a good deal on used airsoft gear, so had a vest, sling, and a bunch of other stuff (although I only used what I needed). Absolutely make sure to bring water! Even 15min games (this site has two 15min games, and you donβt get to go back to safe zone) youβll probably start getting tired. Now Iβm crazy for getting a GBBR as my first gun, which means mags weigh more as well, but even if you just have a rental AEG, expect to be more active, and bring a small bottle of water, either in a backpack, or a MOLLE pouch for a vest or belt etc. My MWS M4A1 jammed a few times during the game, but I think that mightβve been user error. Often I misjudged when filling gas, and didnβt put enough. I suggest for those starting not to make the mistake of rushing in and purchasing airsoft guns, but to start with rentals and see how it goes. AEGs tend to be much more forgiving and not caring too much about lack of maintenance. Yesterday I replaced the nozzle springs, and noticed there was already a little bit of gunk on the bolt and lower receiver. For me however, the point of getting a gas blowback was to learn about gun maintenance and get used to the routine of cleaning. As for upgrading MWS, I donβt care too much about fancy furniture, the base gun is perfectly fine (even the normal nozzle springs, but bear in mind in Japan they use a lower powered gas, so the main nozzle spring will eventually fail with green gas). Some of the highlights of the game, got hit in the forehead (was wearing goggles and lower mask, next time will try balaklava). On one of the rounds I took my hoodie off and only had t-shirt and vest (which protected my vitals), and got hit on my left elbow). BBs can still hurt pretty badly, especially at short CQB distances, but itβs not too bad (other than eye pro, itβs best to also protect the teeth). This site also has mandatory surrender (so you donβt get a bunch of bruising from BBs), and I was able to get an opposing member to surrender near the end of the last match. Because of dehydration I was slow in the last round, but thoroughly enjoyed the experience. Checking my guns, thinking about the ammo count, practicing tactics, learning from team mates. On the day I also so pretty good sportsmanship all round.1 point -

Doesn't matter what shape the mag is there's always a 6mm coming out, so if it works then crack on. As a speccy-four-eyes I say stick a massive 20x scope on an MP5k if you like.1 point -

Tank testing legality
The_Lord_Poncho reacted to Tommikka for a topic
Relevant legislation and regulations cover transportation and operating fill stations etc, then add the legal issues of HSE compliance even if not a direct legislative requirement These do apply commercially and generally donβt apply to individuals. Be aware if you have a works provided vehicle, even a salary offset car etc - as then commercial transportation does apply. You ought to inform the insurer and display relevant triable/diamond warning stickers (Private vehicles are not required to display the HPA cylinder symbol to carry a playing cylinder - but as discussed with a firefighter friend they would be happier to see the sticker and be prepared than to be cutting into a crushed car and discover an unknown cylinder or cut through one) Sites are obliged to check self fill and staff fill cylinders, plus have a responsibility to keep staff and other customers safe Back in the day there were paintballers using scuba cylinders to self fill on site when either the site only ran CO2 or they were using DOT/TC cylinders with a blind eye turned. This slackness bred and bad practices spread, using unrestricted fast fill stations and youngsters self filling Everyone suddenly paid attention when a series of failures occured in the UK and Europe in rapid succession. One case was a full flash fill explosion of the regulator and cylinder with hospitalisation (luckily βonlyβ chemical burns and βminorβ melting of his jersey) the rest tended to be burst disk failures Mostly attributed to slack procedures (including 3000psi cylinders on 4500psi fill stations),dirt contamination, heat (fast fills) and the burst disks failing due to those combinations, some cases of self fitted/changed regulators not correctly fitted and/or thread damage - causing bottle rockets etc The explosion was fully investigated by HSE, it involved a specific ultralight cylinder type (of the brand βsaferβ) which affected their reputation but was not the cylinder design at fault - the problem was oil contamination attributed to a previous users bad maintenance contaminating the fill station and the fast fill generating heat at pressure plus oil contamination causing an explosion The relevant legislation may not apply to individuals directly but it does affect us all - not necessarily impacting on the individual with bad habits but the others around1 point -

Just received 5x SSX23 magazines for my mk23. But why did I buy them if I already have 5 STTI magazines that work just fine? Because I hate pins, and I am moving to propane so I don't want to deal with mk23 magazine maintenance on the regular with those goddamn pins! The new Novritsch mags have screws in the baseplate instead, much like a hi-capa, 1911 or p226 mag (guess which other pistols I tend to use...)1 point -

An old Finnish joke about the Winter War: A large group of Russian soldiers in the border area in 1939 are moving down a road, when they hear a voice call from behind a small hill: "One Finnish soldier is better than ten Russians". The Russian commander quickly orders 10 of his best men over the hill where a gun-battle breaks out and continues for a few minutes, then silence. The voice once again calls out: "One Finn is better than one hundred Russians." Furious, the Russian commander sends his next best 100 troops over the hill and instantly a huge gun fight commences. After 10 minutes of battle, again silence. The calm Finnish voice calls out again: "One Finn is better than one thousand Russians!" The enraged Russian commander musters 1000 fighters and sends them to the other side of the hill. Rifle fire, machine guns, grenades, rockets and cannon fire ring out as a terrible battle is fought... Then silence. Eventually one badly wounded Russian fighter crawls back over the hill and with his dying words tells his commander, "Don't send any more men... it's a trap. There are two of them!"1 point -
