Kids- how old?

That’s his equipment sorted and ordered, think that's a very good start. Area 66 doesn’t do anything for his age but will allow us to use the range on game days, that’s great as it will let him see what goes on day to day, plus will let me spark a relationship with the staff. The point he's making is it's secondhand, if someone buys it & should it go wrong 5 minutes in to a game, it can't be returned to the shop for repair or replacement. Same goes for usage, anyone can say "never skirmished" etc, at the end of the day a secondhand buyer is taking all the risks, so expects to pay a price that reflects that. For years the generally "agreed" framework for s/h pricing has been 65-75% of the current cheapest rrp. So a ballpark figure for yours would be £287, clearly something you probably disagree with. End of the day your free to ask what you like, but don't be surprised that people comment or you get a mention on Macks.3 points

The 'How Did Your Airsoft Day Go? Thread
Galvatron and one other reacted to Colin Allen for a topic
Today, I took another trip to the relatively new Dragon's Lair site near the Lakeside shopping centre in Essex. The lad and I were regular but not frequent visitors to the original site, which was very different from the new one. Numbers were surprisingly low compared to previous visits. There were only about 40 players, with around nine being rentals; I am used to there being around twice as many. The first game involved us starting on the hill with a mission to clear all the structures in the valley and declare it clear when we thought that we had eliminated all of the enemy. We would incur a five minute penalty for every surviving enemy player. We had infinite regens on a buddy while the defenders had three lives. We took it slow and steady, focussing on clearing each structure in turn; the enemy fiercely defended the first compound, which we eventually cleared through direct assault and a nifty posting of poison gas through the back door, although I was twice shot by my own team. As they had defended it so strongly, a number of them had used up their three lives, which made the following stages somewhat easier for us. After the capture of the first compound, I moved onto the rear wooded ridge, which gave me a great field of fire across the valley. When we called it clear, three ghillie suited enemies revealed themselves, so we incurred a 15 minute time penalty. The game was then turned around; I again took up a position on the rear wooded ridge, from where I was able to prevent some of the enemy turning that flank and to pot a few more while they were attempting to break into the first compound. As they moved along the valley, I followed them on the ridge, taking out a few. They completed the mission more rapidly than we did. However, four of us were still alive when they declared the valley clear; the result of this was that the adjusted times were identical. The next game involved the enemy defending the hilltop while we attacked it; the regen rules were the same as the previous game. A group of us worked our way around the far right, engaging the enemy and pushing into their left flank, while the rest of the team took the direct route up the hill. There were some great firefights and a wonderfully amusing and very loud argument between two enemy players, who were very annoyed with each other over something. Eventually, the enemy force was whittled down and we took the hill. After lunch, during which the two argumentative players left along with another player who was caught with a magazine in his rifle in the safe zone, we went out for the reverse of the previous game. I took up a position on the left flank in a very nice bush to try to prevent the enemy mimicking our flanking attack; they did try to and we had a nice little exchange of fire, which ended with them having to go back to their start point to regen as they had nobody left to medic them. Shortly after this, I was again shot in the back by one of my own team! My new position in a slightly less nice bush did not last long as we were starting to be swamped. A small group of us rallied behind the final hut and prepared to sell our lives dearly; we were able to hold off the enemy for longer than I had expected until we were eventually overrun. After this, we deployed to the valley. Six enemy players were in one of the compounds; their colleagues had to rescue them one at a time and escort them back to the hilltop, while we had to prevent them by killing the six or preventing the rescuers reaching them. A group of us pushed up the hillside, attempting to interdict the most direct route by which the enemy could reach their compatriots. This resulted in some fun firefights, which denied them the use of the direct route. The game eventually ended and I never did find out what the outcome was, only that we had definitely killed at least one of the six. As there was not much time left, the marshals decided to finish with a game of infection; I took the opportunity to leave, which others had been doing since lunchtime. Ray and his team have done a wonderful job in creating the new site after the closure of the previous one. The amount of work that has gone into it is staggering; the safe zone is even better than the old one and the scale of construction in the playing area is impressive. However, due to the limited size and the layout of the site, the gameplay can be somewhat repetitive, which is also a criticism that I made of the old site. As part of my regular peregrination around a few sites it serves its purpose well, but it is not a site that I could play at all the time, which is probably true for the other sites that I play at. Ordered online so hasn’t tried them on, these are just for starting out as no one will be shooting at him until he’s old enough to attend a proper match. The boys head is masssssive so there won’t be a problem fitting, I think 👍🏼.It’s me with the peanut skull 😃. Cheers2 points

Airsoft Operators Box gone away ?
Cannonfodder reacted to MrTea for a topic
Exactly my thinking - it'd be something an established retailer could do as a one off for birthdays/christmas etc. Then again, I guess most people would rather put together their own care package or mystery box for someone who plays airsoft. At least then you know they aren't getting a load of overstock and/or tat.1 point -

I've been into airsoft for around 30 years, but have only got serious into collecting about 10 years. My job and family commitments haven't allowed me to play really much in the past so collecting was my only option which soon turned into my hobby! When I meet my now wife I explained to her about the sport and that they weren't really gun and she was OK with it as she calls them"toy guns" and let's me get on with it that's was until last month when she had to help me move them to our new home!!!! My new house had a garage which I'm converting into my gun room to home my ever growing collection which my wife now says after seeing it is" getting out of hand" which brings me onto the reason for the post.. how many guns people have in there collection and show us your collection.. Ps I have 150 and can't see me stopping!!1 point

https://find-and-update.company-information.service.gov.uk/company/10956672 According to Companies House, they've had numerous orders to be struck off but they've kept getting them put off. I'd guess they're trying to prolong the inevitable forfeiture of their assets with going bust.1 point

I reassembled it a few times but still no luck. It has a ball bearing, not sure if correct but I like the idea of the TnT kit so definitely on the cards. Had the hammer out earlier and can’t see any issues. I made an effort of taking every piece out, cleaned, regreased and reassembled. Gave it a test and it got through about 25 bb’s, but didn’t get the chance to further check yet1 point

Absolute magic feedback guys, thanks. I'm completely sold, going ahead with the Christmas present with the plan of going to Edinburgh Action Air Club and Area 66 as the guys have advised above, then progressing into full matches when he's old enough. His gran has also given him the green light to put as many targets in her garden as he wants. We just visited Land Warrior Sports for a wee look and just wanted to ransack the place 😀 Yeah and there's no way in hell I'll be gifting him a two-tone 🤢 Obviously, I have to get one as well 😄1 point

Definitely. Reason I asked if you played was: 1. If you get three games under your belt at your nearest site, you'll have your ukara, so you won't have to buy, & then gift, your son an abomination two-tone, he'll love his dad even more if he's got an all black rifle, cos don't forget....... 2. Get to know your local site, including the staff & owner, once they see you are a sensible, responsible player, it'll make broaching the subject of your son coming along to play much easier. i pretty much started out playing at a number of sites all run by one guy, who I got to know quite well, as long with his staff, so when I approached him to ask whether my son could try a gameday, as well as a friends kid (the friend was also a regular player), he had no problem allowing it, on the understanding that the boys had to stick with us all day, & we were expected to ensure the safety aspects were drilled in to them. My son was 9 (I think ?), the other lad was probably 8, & both had a great day with no issues. My son just turned 27, is a dad himself, & still plays when he gets a chance, along with his gf. I thought the actual webbing of the sling was supposed to loop through the sling point on the stock. But the keyring idea sounds good. If you fancy something a bit more gucci here's a video with a few suggestions1 point -
My Gun Collection "how many you need"
ButcherBill reacted to Impulse for a topic
I can't get a photo of mine because I live in a small room in a shared house, so a lot of my collection is actually put away in their boxes and I flat out wouldn't have the space to lay them all out in the small amount of space I have, even laying out the ones I use regularly isn't possible with the tiny space I have. I've got 40 in total including pistols (I have quite a few pistols because I tend to play roles with an MED). I'm glad you posted this because it makes me feel better and that I'm not excessive, as a lot of my friends have less than 10 in total and I often feel like I've got way too many. I'll probably have a wall for them when I have my own house, but in today's economy I feel that gets less likely by the day0 points
