If you have a genuine negative review of a site and something couldn't be resolved on the day by staff or you was simply laughed at I feel it must be voiced and the community needs to know about it What I can see from this is that one (3) out of towners came to a new site and didn't like it for the reasons you have pointed out and the guys that are local and have played since day 1 are defending it Both parties are within their right to do so, but if the complaint is a safety regard and that's being overlooked then there is a problem4 points -

IF this did happen then why didn't the marshals step in? Stopping incidents like this is part of their job and if they witnessed it but did nothing then it's on them. As for the mortar, that's just a lawsuit waiting to happen. I just hope the owners see sense before it comes to that.3 points -
It would definitely put airsoft into scrutiny again, as a whole. It’s already a niche hobby that many people are put off by simply because of the replicas being… well, replicas of real pews. If that was me, I would test the “mortar” when the field is empty and with nobody around at all. The argument of “but nobody got hurt” is simply ridiculous, because nobody got hurt… this time. Mistakes happen, very easily. Then all of a sudden your little bit of “fun” becomes a big headache for the site owners and insurance.3 points

I read your review and saw your side of things we're yet to hear back from Connor (501), with the cost of travel and how far you went you seemed to have left an honest review of your day, how you could have benefited from the review I can't see, it's not like you're a local competeting site And like all negative reviews regarding airsoft sites, the locals always gang up and try to tell you that you are wrong It's not the first time this has happened and it won't be the last All the community wants is the truth from what happened that day so I'll sit back and watch you all duke it out until the truth rears it's head3 points -

This. To me a good measure of how well a site is run is how they act when things go wrong. The fact that the staff did fuck all to address any of the problems they were told about, and a lack of any real response to the review by the owners make me think once they've gotten your money they stop giving a shit3 points -

⁸Umm. Freshly signed up and their only post is to claim a negative review posted by a known and respected forum member is bullshit. I think I'll take what they post with a massive pinch of salt. I think this should be enough While vandalism of a site is never good it's no excuse for a poorly run site, hell my go to site has suffered from vandalism repeatedly (even worse is that it appears to be done by another nearby site) and they're still able to run a decent gameday.3 points -

The question I usually ask myself when there are two conflicting reports is about who benefits from being economical with the truth. The person who wrote the review and whose identical email to the site was met with a thumbs up rather than an explanation or a rebuttal had nothing to gain from his original complaint to the site owner. On the other hand, a fan of the site might feel inclined to give a version of events that favours the site. Also note that this was not just one person; two of the group left after the pyro incident and the other six left early.3 points -

G&P Stoner 63 HPA converted with dual Solenoid Polarstar F2 Semi/ Auto - an LMG you can take into buildings and short/light enough to CQB with. Basically all of the internals are brand new, got fedup of the unreliability of high ROF AEG builds, also bought a bunch of parts to cure what are (imo) the design faults with the original G&P Kit which I'll outline below. Brand new Polarstar F2 with FCU HPA engine mounted in Retro arms v2 Cnc Shell. Bullgear box mag - 1800-2000bb capacity, will feed up to 50bb/sec + parts for another mag, would be simple to buy another bullgear mag and use the remaining parts to build this 6.05 inner stainless steel inner barrel (I want to say madbul) it is flathopped and lifts 0.3's with ease Bullcraft industries short outer barrel, barrel block, selector plate (specific to this rif, not standard V2) and Stock tube conversion - the bullcraft parts were primarily purchased to cure barrel wobble which is common with the original parts, along with the breach block which I always found was somewhat fragile (original design) all of the BCI parts are laser sinter 3d printed and exceptionally strong full length original barrel, solid stock, oem breach block all included railed front end and railed top cover vietnam style handguard included The bonus to all of the 3d printed parts is now this thing weighs about half as much as it did new and is absolutely solid, will sit and pour bb's downrange at whatever poor bugger happens to be in your way all day long provided you've got the air to slake her thirst. It is a decidedly unpleasant gun, I really feel a bit like a scumbag having built it 👀 £1000 for the Rif as is £1200 for the rif and 1.5k AirTac Carbon 300 bar tank +100 for the vortex +50 for the hard case +£1k with HIKmicro Thermal gunsight that'll pickup a human target at like 1.7km I have a couple of other bottles (0.8l 232 bar) that are out of test, if the price is right I'm happy to have them re-tested and include them. I'll upload some more pics later on collection preferred from Bromsgrove as I'd like ideally to spend a brief moment going through it with the prospective buyer. shipping by arrangement only.£1,000

A2 stock arrived today - which means I can finally run the torch frontend & actually plug a battery in at the same time, which is nice. Have a clone C-More railway coming in soon which'll probably go on this if it suits it enough, alongside one of those abhorrent modern cocking handles because the proper ones won't be in stock until next year [according to an email I sent airsoftpro.cz, we'll see] and adjusting the hop without being able to lock the bolt to the rear is a massive pain in the ass lol Also got a forward assist & replacement bipod for the SR-25 too.2 points -

Welcome Joe, everyone's entitled to an opinion, that's what makes this place great, Colin shared somebody elses review, someone he knows personally so he has no reason to disbelieve what he was told. He & I had discussed this a little a week ago & he was reluctant to disclose too much info until the site had been given the opportunity to respond. I'm guessing they chose not to, or their response was inadequate, hence why this is now in the public domain. I'm gonna make an assumption that the reviewer, & his family, aren't first time players, & that the issues they've highlighted, particularly safety, aren't what they've seen elsewhere, which would explain why they felt the need to share their gameday experience. Thing is, I've played some atrocious sites, issues at every level from safety, to marshaling, to the game scenarios that are set in place, I've come away horrified, I've spoken to marshals & owners, & on a rare occasion shared my thoughts online, but the latter is usually after I've gone back & given them a second, or even third chance. And throughout this, I'll hear players extolling the virtues of the site, either on the gamedays I attended, or just in general, & the only conclusion I can come to in order to explain the disparity between my opinion & theirs, is that they don't know any better, they haven't experienced a top quality well run site, so to them, it's literally the adrenaline fueled dogs bollocks. BUT Any failings are on the site & it's staff, that includes how players behave, anybody can cheat or act like a cnut, but if that behaviour is not nipped in the bud, it speaks volumes about those supposedly in charge. & if word gets around it gets worse, decent players stay away, but the cheats & arsehole arrive in droves, before you know it, it's akin to twa Croydon, & nobody wants that lol🤣 PS. I will be attending the site personally at some point, it's not far from me, & if I experience anything similar, I will be very vocal about it😏2 points -

TAC-41 gen 2 owner here. Dunno. The stock is working fine for me with 0.43g (at ~2.2J), although it's near the top of the dial. If I needed more hop, I'd pop something on top of the stock nub to shim it. Dunno, because of the diferrent barrel length. I went with a Silverback 100N + "Rapax SRS, SSG, VSR Steel Spring Tensioners", i.e. three little rings that you can pop in to fine-tune it. Given how quick and easy the spring change is, you can do it at the chrono, or at lunch. With one of the rings in (can't remember which) I'm at ~2.2J with a properly hopped 0.43g, but that's from the full length barrel. Good enough for me. I got the YouTube sniper video experience right out of the box, with no mods except a spring. Once. The ramp stays full, so you fill the mag, insert it, fill the ramp, remove the mag and refill it and you're done. I've never emptied the feed ramp, and have essentially forgotten that it's even got one. There were some issues with the gen 1s, but long since fixed. Sadly, yes, that's the one downside - I have spilled my ball-seed on the ground a couple of times, and they're very slightly fussy about insertion. You soon get used to handing them gingerly though, and you don't need to change often. The 48 round mags (and they really do hold and feed 48 rounds) fit in a standard pistol pouch. Dunno about the 110s, they weren't available when I bought.1 point

@Joe Caliandro you mention "silly mistakes" by youngsters, care to elaborate on what they were ? Also, the term "horrific" is surely overly dramatic on your part, it's the kinda word one uses if someone loses an eye, or suffers a life changing complicated fracture on site ? End of the day, safety issues MUST be addressed when identified, failure to do so will damage more than just their reputation, a thumbs up just doesn't cut it. 👍😏1 point -
Hi guys. Well as I have been mentioned in this topic, I have felt compelled to reply. As I have replied to Ollies post, not sure where he got his facts from about me being a famous site reviewer,as this is the first review of a site I have played at that i have left. That in its self should show you his angle. As it was mentioned, I don't know where they got shouting a little kids from. The only little kids there were 3 younguns with their dad. I'm sure if I had shouted at them, their dad would have had words with me, but of course people are free to believe who they want. My main concern is the safety aspect, and I can assure you there were mags in guns in the safe zone. My wife would not remove her eye pro, but even after this she still wanted to give it another go. As it has been mentioned there is no point in making stuff up, especially when I have no affiliation to this or any other site. I want there to be more sites not less, so we get more choice. I agree with a post above about maybe giving it another go, but to be honest with the cost and how long it takes to get there and back, I'd rather try a different site, than go back and give them more of our money, especially after all they could be bothered to do was give me a thumbs up. Make of the review what you will and yes, maybe take it with a pinch of salt if you wish and give it a try. I just hope if you do, you have a better SAFER experience than we did.1 point

What do you look for in a good CQB site?
Pseudotectonic reacted to Tommikka for a topic
Spot on with rules as a framework but not impinging on the ability to have specifics for the site/type of event There isn’t a single paintball rule set. There are some basics, and also of course national legislation. In competitive paintball there isn’t a single rule set - there was an attempt at a “world paintball tournament” ruleset - even that had two different sets of “world” and “USA” rules, let alone US paintball politics meaning that every league had its own rules. The Millenium is the major European tournament and other leagues just happily adopt those rules giving consistency for players When UK scenario paintball scene was in its heyday, and pretty much everyone was on the same UKscenario forum a collective of event organisers / sites formed the UKSPC - UK scenario paintball community or collective ? - (this was a decade ago) The standards set things such as bottle checking, providing free UKPSF air safety sessions and only allowing self filling by UKPSF air safety card holders and the rule element of maximum velocity 280fps, 260fps for CO2 or close up/night games - this aided players by not having a range of velocities between sites and events with players previously adjusting every couple of weeks for the next event (Our first event opened the 2010 scenario season and therefore was the first UKSPC compliant event) The UKSPC didn’t need to cost anything for sites to join up etc, it did align with the UKPSF with their recommended standards and air safety training. But the collective was voluntary - it just needed organisers to see a need and take action (back then the scenario scene was pretty much by players for players, so the host of X was also playing Y and Z) The UKSPC is probably forgotten, but the general standards remain whether intentionally or because an organiser today just uses what is common All our paintball rulesets are based on the UKSPC set, and then I refine to the game format. Our Airsoft rulesets have been similar but then handed to the Airsofters for translation1 point -
It should be a fairly straightforward swap. The barrel nut for the first one probably won't work for the second one though so that'll need to be swapped too. That said, if you're trying to replicate the gun in the second picture you will need a shorter barrel (probably inner and outer).1 point

The chap has now posted a review: “Now after Messaging 501st this very review and got nothing back except a thumbs up I have decided to offer this up as an experience of our day there. We went to your site on 29/09/2024 Firstly trying to find the place was a nightmare we drove past what was a carpark twice and just happened to take the chance and stop in there, then found a wet piece of paper that said 501st this way. After walking aimlessly through some undergrowth I stumbled across someone who said where the 'safe zone' was. On getting there I met a friend who was just walking away as someone threw a Mk5 in said safe zone. When he said something he was told to shut up then chants of fight, fight, with a marshal giggling about it. Anyway we set up in the safe zone, if that’s what you could call it as people were walking around with loaded mags in their guns, to this end my wife refused to remove her eye pro at all, my 15 year old son was very dubious to do it so removed his dye but replaced them with some eye pro whilst in the safe zone. Now I had to ask twice to be chronoed, which was lack luster at best. My GBB coming in a bit hot on 0.32s, showing 286FPS said I'd adjust it but was told it was OK! Now the brief was quite good so kudos there. Now the first game, we were blues attacking. The reds just would not take their hits. I told one marshal (wearing a full-face mask), who seemed to care more about being on his phone that actually even responding to me. So, I spoke to another marshal (guy who gave the brief) that at least acknowledged what I had said. But it didn’t change anything. I repeatedly saw players taking easily 20 to 30 shots before they even bothered to call hits. Plus, the field layout was ridiculous. No cover whatsoever at our end trying to assault a cover laden side, no one could advance. We did speak to another marshal about lack of marshals (young guy with a lightsaber) he said it would be better with less players, really there were only about 20 there! I have been a marshal and run game days with 130 players with 5 marshal no problems. Anyway, it got so bad that I just gave up and went back to the safe zone during the first game. My wife went out at least and tried the 2nd game with was basically the first just with a different name, but she came back soon enough, we packed up and decided to go. I have to say it is without a doubt the worst day or game of airsoft I have played. Even at £45 for the 3 of us it wasn’t worth it, 3 hour round trip and tunnel fees without the cost of diesel thrown it, what a waste. Including my wife, son and myself I had arranged for 8 of us to come for the day, and quite frankly I was left embarrassed that I had got some of our airsoft group to try the site out due to what I have mentioned. 2 never even stayed after the grenade incident the others left the same time we did; it was that bad. There needs to be some drastic improvements to both organisation and more importantly safety as there will soon be a bad injury. I as a player and more importantly as a parent will not be coming back and cannot recommend this site at all in its current state. I only gave one star as I couldn't give any lower.”1 point -

I do agree that it would be better if airsoft was recognised as a sport, as paintball is. Contrast the UK Paintball Sports Federation with the UK Airsoft Players Union (and other assorted bodies). However, good luck persuading sites that it's in their interest to follow someone else's rules, and likely pay fees to a governing body. And I do mean good luck - if this is something that you want to see happening, don't wait around for someone else to do it.1 point -
