    Hi, new to airsoft!

I'll throw a few more pence in the bucket... If you just want to plink at home then a pistol is a good choice as its more fun to use than an Electric weapon (AEG) As Tommikka said, you could just buy a two tone coloured pistol without any legal requirements (as long as you're over 18) But I would also recommend to try renting at a game site to see the true potential of the sport. If you don't like it then its not a big cost and you will get to see lots of weapon options. (I preferred woodland games with sneaking around and a range of weapons but indoor CQB is faster and can be played just with a pistol) If you do like it then you'll only need to attend two more games at the same place to register with UKARA and then you can buy any realistic coloured toy (RIF) Check HERE for sites near you. Either way, have fun 😁👍

    Hi, new to airsoft!

For target shooting at home you don’t need any of the VCRA defences - a brightly coloured IF will shoot as well as if it were a RIF. Bright IFs can be anything from a cheap BB shooter to a bells & whistles airsoft gun with a paint job

  3. This times million. IMO far too many sites are happy to cram in as many players as possible which turns games into a boring stalemate where nobody is able to move. I know it's a bit late but last Tuesday I took a trip back to Bunker 51 for the first time this year. Numbers were low at 12 total dropping to 4 for the last game and on the whole I had a great evening. Hit taking was good with no problems. Although there was one amusing moment where myself and an opposing player were both thinking the other wasn't taking their hits, only to find out both of us were having feeding problems. We both had a good laugh about it afterwards when we realised what happened. All in all I think I definitely would recommend their mid week games. The Sunday games I think I'll avoid though, from talking to other players it sounds like they have too many players for both the game zone and safe zone

    Hi, new to airsoft!

Thanks for the feedback. I do like shiny things plus the main point was to shoot some targets at home, I do understand a pistol is only necessary in some CQB games so for anything bigger I will get a feel for it once i try some. Just had a chat with Bunker 51 (i'm in London), the only bookings open to individuals are for 3 hour games but they can add me to another booking for shorter games too! So will do that soon.

I sold a couple of guns to a buddy (including an old TM SPAS 12). I'll be reacquiring them along with the rest of his collection as he's moved to Australia and the guy that was looking after them wants the space in his shed back!

    Hi, new to airsoft!

If you are willing to try the sport it would make more sense to do the UKARA route? To me at least it seems more y'know, legitimate. Three games in no less than two months is quite a good way to get to know airsoft a bit, you may play your third game and be so sick of it you don't want to play again, but if its been in your mind since the late 80's I doubt you would.. On the other hand you may play your third game and want much more than just a pistol 😜 I think my advice is sound on the "routes" but I'm no veteran so be prepared for some of the others to correct me Aside that, Welcome to the forum and hopefully to the sport too! What sorts of pistols were you thinking about?

  12. just be careful with the t238 I had lots of "fun" making mine work as it should. The error I was getting was with the selector gear, but it was actually the selector plate needed trimming, took me ages to figure it out.

  15. We spent £800 on 120 pallets Only downside with random pallets is the random sizes they come in
    1 point
  16. Best thing to do is find a local business who gets lots of 'white' pallets and doesn't re-use them, that'll mean they have to pay to get rid of them and will probably let you have as many as you like for free. Win / win!

    Buying a GBBR from japan.

I couldn't find the Umarex / KWA USP Tactical locally so I really had no choice but to import. I am collecting the series from Umarex / KWA (USP Tactical, USP Tactical Compact, USP .45, USP Compact, USP Match and HK .45) Hoever the ones I did manage to get locally, USP .45 and the USP Compact were both around 160 so importing is quite a bit more expensive.

    Buying a GBBR from japan.

It'll be lack of staff to clear items. How does it stack up cost wise with all the added fees and tax?

  20. They don't. I think that either A. The seller bought it from somewhere like justbbguns who jack the price up to something stupid before they offered it at a "discount" price matching other shops B. The seller is a cunt who wants to rip people off C. A bit from A and a bit from B

  21. Had a fun weekend at Stirling this weekend. First Stirling in a few years and good fun. I was running solo but was lucky to be attached to 1 troop although the takings really were the same as any other callsign. Lots of patroling and recce to build up a target package before conducting strikes into the village. It was really hard work as the tempo was high for a 36hr event and opfor fought incredibly hard with everywhere outside of the fob feeling like a hostile environment. If you have your admin on point and are comfortable being aggressive in a firefight then it really is worth giving it a try as they're really special events. Run TF if you're into sprinting into battle and opfor if you're looking for a more relaxed attitude to the game. Either way you'll be looked after.

No, as my old pews were destroyed by the police in 96 but FaceAche keeps suggesting my ex as someone I might know... does that count?

  24. What's the issue? If he wants £350 for the lot, that doesn't look like a bad deal even if some of the guns are two-tone. It's not for me personally but I don't think that price for what appears to be 6 reasonable guns in working order is that of a dreamer.

  25. <castle-confused.gif> When I'm not playing dress up, I often just throw on an assault vest. Very adjustable to accommodate for bulges, you can fill the pockets to cover love-handles or love-pillows, not exactly tacticool-hi-speed but it gets the job done. Also, what's the internet cooming to these days?

  26. 501st is a 10 acre site with mixed terrain for a more interesting and unique experience. You can find us on our social media pages (Facebook, Instagram and TikTok where we post daily content ). We’ve only been open for 5 months now and have built up from raw, untouched woodland. We have hosted larger games with the Medway Mercenaries and VJ’s Daredevils. If you have any queries in regards to the site, feel free to get in touch via social media or the 501st WhatsApp Community! 🫡

  28. On Sunday I deployed children. Had a brew, loaded mags, had a kip through the briefing, heated chicken tikka, had a brew, slept through game one, bombed up the kids mags, had a brew and a nap in game two. Packed up and recovered children. It didn’t rain. Best game ever.

  29. I think online retailing and small site shops are the way it’s going. Lots of upgrades are specifically spec’d for TM. So selling Vorsk (for example) makes for a headache in terms of after sales. Theres a few shops around to who sell Vorsk and then TM spec upgrades… but don’t want anything to do with the problems that arise when they’ve sold both to one of their customers 😔 You’ve also got retailers such as Empire who get stuff in far cheaper than Zero one or FS can get. That might be because they have lower running costs due to having no physical shop. My local shop in Cardiff closed down and merged with their CQB site. It makes a lot of sense as most of their sales are on game days.

  30. Made my way over to UCAP Green Ops yesterday. It's a bit out of my way and further than I would normally travel, but I had to drop my girlfriend at Gatwick for 7:30, so thought I'd treat myself... Anyway, what a really great site. There wasn't a huge amount of people, only 40 or so at the start of the day but the games were fun. Started with your typical fall back defence game, followed by a timer game then drugs/bombs in the helicopter. Nothing revolutionary but what makes the site so great is what they've done with the playing area. They've built/dug loads of bunkers, buildings, trenches etc, so there's loads of variety in quite a small site. It's not all long distance stuff either, so they've created a sort of woodland CQB in some ways. The other thing, which is a pet peeve at some sites, is that they've kept on top of maintenance. Lots of the rhodendrons/bushes/weeds are kept in check with paths kept clear. That means you can move around the site easily and everyone isn't funneled into one small area because the rest is impassible. Bit too far for me to be a regular site but if I find myself that way again I'll head over.

  32. Great day at Red Alert yesterday. The threat of bad weather seems to have put a lot of people off but numbers were good enough for balanced teams and good gameplay! The rain didn't actually appear until around lunchtime then promptly buggered off just as we were going out for the first game of the afternoon. So that was nice.

  33. Played at Survival yesterday. Combination of weather and recent road closures which had only just been re opened kept numbers down . About 28 of us, but what a great day ! . Now i Iove low number days 'cos it's way more tactical , add in a decent number of first timers and no snipers and it was bloody great. The rental guys all got stuck in and played well. Proper hit calling all round and fair play from everyone. We wone the first 3 games, and although we did probably work better as a team, the other team never gave up , none of that 'we're going to lose so meh' attitde, they kept coming right till game over. Pacey games using only part of the field each time , teritory game, raise / lower the flag in the village and get the barrel from the centre start point as close to the other teams HQ as poss. That one involved running into a hail of BBs ! Game 4 was interesting . I was made team leader (probably based on age 😂) and got to pick 4 other guys. We then had to rescue a casualty ( manakin on a stretcher) from the medic station and get him back to our start point. Other team of everyone else were already spread out covering th earea when we started. We seriously didn't think we'd do it, the casualty was so well covered, but a concerted push just before the end got him out with 2 of our guys running him back up the hill to base . At that stage i was completely soaked as it had rained pretty steadily most of the day and various body parts were complaining, so I called it a day. Ran my L119 A2 and G3 GBBR's , they both got stashed in the airing cupboard over night to dry them off before a strip and clean today.
