Advice for first gun
Lord_Metile and 2 others reacted to Russe11 for a topic
Best bet is go to a few games and hire guns. This will give you a chance to see what sort of gun would suit you. It takes 2 months and 3 games to get UKARA sorted so by then you will be 18.3 points -
I would definitely like to try this with my team, but I think at £35 for a walk on its far too steep, especially for a new site that needs work, and £50 with hire. I think personally you are pricing it out of where many can afford to regularly attend. Just meant it as constructive feedback3 points

Custom Guns

You know what section of the forum should be used more? The Custom Guns Section. Nuff said Make some custom stuff1 point -
Looks a nice weapon. I don't know much about ASG guns so I'll let someone advise on that but like Mr B said, the G&G Combat Machines are excellent. I was going to go for a CM16 but picked up a GR16 instead. Great weapons. If you live anywhere near Birmingham, I'd advise going in to JD and having a look and speaking to them. They're good people and have a firing range for you to try the guns first.1 point

Depends on the sites you go to as it has a two stage trigger. Some sites won't allow it if they're semi only (CQB) since you can accidentally pull too far. I don't think there's a way of getting a trigger block installed either that regulates semi only or two stage fire modes like the higher end TM AUGs do. Other than that they're okay but you can get a decent AK or m4 since the asg aug is just a rebrand of the jg I think. If you can give us an idea on the style of gun you like I think we could recommend some good starters, but you'll generally get recommended src for g36c rifles, cyma for aks and ICS or G&G for m41 point

Morning all

I am completely new to the world of airsoft and fell into it by accident. I have been an avid airgunner for longer than I care to remember and while away many a pleasant hour hunting vermin for some of the local farmers. Having grown up in South Africa and having a background in the military and policing, I have developed a passion for anything firearm related. I have always owned air rifles and the closest I got to a pistol after leaving SA was a plastic single shot sig p220. I thought it was the greatest thing since sliced bread and had loads of fun plinking away at paper targets. I got so good with it that I could hit a billboard sized target from a foot away almost 50% of the time. This thing could punch a hole through a piece of wet single ply toilet paper from well over a hundred millimetres away with ease. It was possibly the most dangerous pistol I had ever owned and lived with the constant fear of being seriously injured by a BB bouncing of the ground and hitting me in the ankle. I later discovered that there were other pistols out there that were a little more challenging. I acquired a rather pleasant umarex cp88 in .177 and the sig was retired to the cupboard. My father (78 years old and still shoots) introduced me to the world of steel bb's. He had an obscenely large Dan Wesson that looks like .38 special on steroids. He took me to his local gunshop where he gets his ammo from and I found and fell in love with the TFW 1911. My fathers preferred side arm back home was the 1911, I don't ever remember him not having it with him. Anyway I finally purchased a TFW and was not only impressed with the shooting realism of it but was overjoyed at the fact that it could be stripped like the real thing. Sadly my father was diagnosed with cancer and as a result of the chemo was unable to shoot. He still went on about the TFW and after a lot of searching I found a reasonably priced second hand one for him. Having spent more time than I care to remember in armouries gun smithing (hence the name), I did a complete rebuild on this second hand pistol. It was polished, hand engraved and chased and I made him a bespoke set of grips. He was so pleased that he took the pistol into the gunshop to show the owner. It turns out that he is into skirmishing and owns a mini arsenal. He asked me if I could make him a set of grips for his S.T.A.R.S m92. What a silly question. I of course agreed but when the pistol arrived it was the most battered, hammered and well used pistol I had seen. After hours of work I transformed this pistol into a thing of beauty. I stupidly asked if there was anything else he needed doing and now have a Mac10 and Dragunov to rebuild. My main aim for joining the airsoft forums is to learn a little more about the sport, perhaps get involved as well but also to keep my eye open for spare parts. That's me in a nutshell. Annnnnndddddd moving on swiftly. Nothing special, but I won't be airsofting for a month of two *cri ,_,* so i thought id take some proper photos of my scar before she's put away. I usually use a pressure switch for the T6 light and use a green laser PEQ box, but I was too lazy to mount them on and wire them up. (Excuse the dodgy photo quality and the floppy magpul) Here are some close ups of the EoTech 552 I laser engraved but never got round to posting.1 point -

http://www.proairsoftsupplies.co.uk/acatalog/cm16_transparent_starter_pack.html You'll get absolutely excellent service from the guys at Pro Airsoft Supplies. Doesn't need two-toning, and IMO looks a lot better than orange / blue! Plus you'll get the charger and battery you need too. Also, if you're interested in an AK, CYMA do good ones. My dad bought a blowback AK47 for £120 (on sale from £190) Hope this helps!1 point -
Need help on buying an electric gun
Lambster reacted to Airsoft_Mr B for a topic
Don't buy from JBBG, or any site with 'bb guns' in the name! By the way it's a defence, not a licence. Justbbguns is a rip-off and their guns are terrible quality for the price you pay. Not to mention that a lot of the information about them is wrong / dodgy. If you comment on anything they remove anything bad and it's the same with their website reviews. They can choose the ones they display but I've seen somewhere they have 2/5 stars or so. They solely exist to try and get money from beginner airsofters like yourself! SRC aren't the best manufacturer but as far as I know their G36s are alright. Like Lambster said, you could get a lot more for your money and G&G guns are good. In fact, pretty much everyone here on the forums recommends their Combat Machine range.1 point -

Firstly, DO NOT BUY THAT GUN! It's plastic and shit. It will just implode as soon as you touch it. Secondly, NEVER buy from justbbguns. They're selling off crap quality stuff and their after sales care is pretty non existent. For £200 you can get a pretty decent gun. G&G are good quality guns for the price. I'd advise on looking somewhere a little more reputable such as www.zerooneairsoft.com or https://jdairsoft1-px.rtrk.co.uk Both offer free 2 tone of your weapon of choice. Just, for the love of god, do not line the pockets of the con artists at justbbguns.1 point -

Spot on brother! I'm new to the scene and I have been looking at this for over a week. I have been looking at flecktarn.co.uk, I'm after the tan version was going to add the admin pouch,2x frag, utility, 2x 4 mag's and hydration on the back. It's versatile like you said and can switch out for what ever you want will be looking at MP5 and M4 when I get my UKARA. So will be easy enough to swap about, will give the site you mentioned a look at. Delivery looks to be there downfall though.1 point -

so what you're saying is that if someone draws an anime poster of a character holding a particular type of gun... you'll be more inclined to want to buy it? DO NOT EVER GO TO JAPAN, YOU WILL SPEND ALL THE MONEY YOU HAVE EVER HAD AND EVER WILL HAVE ON RUBBISH.1 point -

G&G GR16 Blowback Upgrades

I had a nice lengthy response wrote out explaining my reasoning and trying to help you (I am being 100% honest here. I was about 15 mins into it), but I accidentally clicked the back button on my mouse and lost the response. I am in a bad mood now so here is my short answer. Don't bother with your more powerful spring and motor. You don't need it. Your FPS would have increased with the TBB and teflon tape. And as some newbies incorrectly think (thanks to a certain few retailers) a higher FPS does not mean a longer range. I have seen 330 FPS AEG's outrange alot of unupgraded 450 FPS snipers. Most CQB places won't allow much above 330fps anyway. Use the money shimming the gearbox and maybe some stronger or better ratioed gears and improving accuracy. (I'm not sure whether I should say higher or lower ratios anyway. Ones for a higher rate of fire anyway ) A higher gearbox version number doesn't mean it is better than a lower numbered gearbox version. The type of gun is gearbox specific. For example a V3 is an AK gearbox. Have as google for the V7 gearbox and you'll see what I mean. It is for an M14. A MOSFET is probably a better idea than a more powerful spring. However it seems like too much faffing for me but you may have a different point of view. Hence I'm not too clued up on MOSFETs. Well I hope this shortened answer answers a question or two. Any more questions feel free to ask.1 point -
How can you even start to talk like that to him? Seeing as you own black viper and an ls pistol, you can't downplay his choice of guns, especially calling the 'cheap crap'. If bulldogs are the best bb's you have used, then you're obviously not in any position to put down what other people use.1 point

Justbbguns are the most ridiculous website in the known universe. The only people that should be buying from there are 14 year olds using their paper round wages. Look at the videos on YouTube! Every review is a lie the man calls EVERYthing a carbine and says that a 39.99 double eagle m4 AEG is a fantastic weapon. I'm sorry mate but there is no way that is punching 328fps. Also anyone that calls an airsoft weapon a "bb gun" is a plank in my mind especially on your OWN website. You lot are robbing the general public blind sell you products for what they are OVERPRICED POTATO GUNS. I'm sure an administrator will have a go at me for this post but I'm looking out for the people in this community and I'm sorry. Rant over Peace to all airsofters (except justbbguns)1 point
