  1. In that price range you will only get very poor quality guns. Wait and sort UKARA (if you are over 18) and rent in the meantime. Save up a bit of money and see if you enjoy airsoft. With UKARA registration it is possible to buy from abroad where you will get better deals. Taiwangun.com is in Poland and is the only place I could find a decent gun in your price range http://www.taiwangun.com/en/jg069-m5-j-jg?from=listing&campaign-id=19 http://www.taiwangun.com/en/cm-028s?from=listing&campaign-id=19 http://www.taiwangun.com/en/608-jg?from=listing&campaign-id=19 You will need UKARA in order to buy from here but this is your best bet for anything skirmishable for less than £130.
  2. I can't actually think of any regular posters who are female. Maybe we scare them off? Internet forums tend to be very male dominated, so an internet forum about airsoft will have an even lower female population than the sport as a whole. If you look at the facebook pages of your local sites you will probably see a much higher ratio of female airsofters. Women tend to like facebook a lot more than forums.
  3. If you need boots and clothing, a good place to start is http://www.britishmilitarysurplus.co.uk They do some very good deals on footwear (a good pair of boots is a very good idea) and some of the bundle deals are a good way to get all the basics cheaply.
  4. Welcome to the sport I would suggest that you read the UK law section of the forums before you sell these on. Basically you will need to be able to prove that you are selling to re-enactors and airsofters. Is that 10 L85's? Do you know what make?

I appear briefly at the 8 min mark. This was filmed by the Brits and I was mainly with the Yanks.

  6. Soo happy with my Owen gun. According to the Germans it has some insane range. Jingles couldn't be arsed getting out of bed 'cos it was raining in the morning though. Shame, it was an epic battle and would have made an awesome video. I got 3 knife kills with the P08 bayonet :)

I kinda got that at The Mall last week. Brought three guns; my Raider GBB as my primary, my ACM P90 and my backup, and my new ACM MP40 to chrono. Turns out, it was too cold for my Raider, and my P90 had a grease buildup that caused it to have an 80fps jump. So I ended up using an MP40 at a modern game. Got a few people asking me about it. Shame about jingles, but at least you had fun

  7. How long a battery lasts depends how you play, type of battery etc. Generally though a battery will last a day but it's always wise to have a spare.
  8. Says £120 if in a costume. At £59 it may be worth it, but not £120
  9. This time tomorrow I will be camping out at Combat South ready for my 1st WW2 game this year. Also should get hold of my Owen gun. Weather forecast is rainy and cold but I have plenty of beer ready.

Yeah, I plan to try and be in the background of as many of his shots as possible doing something heroic looking :D I won't be hard to spot in my Aussie gear.

By heroic looking, I may mean Hungover looking :D I think it's likely that Jingles will notice me with the Owen gun and slouch hat.

  10. Any problems, just call the courier.
  11. Best place for cheap clothing is http://www.britishmilitarysurplus.co.uk/shop/shirts.html Chargers and batteries try componentshop http://www.componentshop.co.uk/batteries/airsoft
  12. Check if it's the fuse. If absolutely nothing happens then that's the easiest thing to check. Then check all the wiring, have the connectors on the motor come loose or maybe you have damaged the battery connectors? If it was a gearbox problem then it would make some noise so it must be the electrics.
  13. The HFC Mk23 socom is quite good. It's a clone of the TM version but not as good. http://www.onlybbguns.co.uk/airsoft/airsoft-pistols/hfc-hg-302-mk23-airsoft-gas-pistol.html#.VOovknysU3k
  14. Well I have my case just about finished for my Owen gun. It is a wooden box bought off amazon, lined internally with craft foam and externally with lots of different pictures relating to WW2 Australia (recruitment posters, newspaper clippings, photos, paintings) glued on with PVA. I then varnished it and replaced the flimsy hinges with T hinges and a hasp and staple. I am still debating handles or lee enfield sling loops (I will have to carry a sling anyway so why not use it to carry the box). I will try to have photo's next week, when I have the Owen gun.
  15. 1 week until I finally get hands on my Owen gun. Sooo excited :)

I have no idea. All I know is that it is being entered into a competition in AI magazine. I don't know the rules of the competition or when I will know how it did.

I cant wait even if it aint mine lol !

  16. I know a local film maker who has borrowed my guns before. Look for local airsoft sites on facebook and ask on there, no-one is going to want to send their gun via courier so best to find them locally. Alternatively ask a local retailer such as Landwarrior airsoft if they could help you out. Some sort of idea about the type of guns would be helpful in making better suggestions. You may as well try and use the airsofters as extras, they will feel better knowing that their prized possessions are not leaving their sight and they may already have the uniforms etc.
  17. you do know that 11mm-20mm adapters exist?
  18. With MP5's it's also possible to get the 3 lugged flash hider and special suppressors that fit onto it. Haven't seen one for a while but I haven't been looking at MP5 parts for a while. For a sight rail you will want something like this: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Tactical-Metal-Low-Profile-Rail-Scope-Mount-Base-for-G3-MP5-Series-Airsoft-AEG-/231470282312?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_3&hash=item35e4b43648 heres one, I'm not mad, they exist! http://uk.redwolfairsoft.com/redwolf/airsoft/Accessories_Silencers_MADBULL_Gemtech_Raptor_II_Silencer_for_MP5_3_lug_Adapter_only.htm Fits on this type of flash hider:
  19. If you want to declutter, a replacement rail for just the sight should cost about £5 and a torch foregrip will cost from £20 upwards (the cheap ones will have glass lenses which you will want to replace). http://www.taiwangun.com/en/mp5-flashlight-fore-grip-acm?from=listing&campaign-id=14 http://www.taiwangun.com/en/rail-mount-for-mp5-g3-low-acm?from=listing&campaign-id=14 In fact if you don't like the meat tenderiser rail, you can probably sell it for enough to pay for the cost of making the gun look all nice
  20. MP5's are great for CQB and tbh theres not any major differences between the different manufacturers in terms of design. Some manufacturers are better than others in terms of reliability and Cyma are a reasonable manufacturer. If you like the look of it, then go for it. Personally I think it has too much clutter and I prefer a collapsible stock for CQB. There is just no need for any rails on an MP5 other than a small top rail for a sight. If you want a torch then you can get a foregrip with a built in torch.
  21. As I do a WW2 Australian impression, I leave the Zeroing to the enemy ....I'll just get my coat I just check that bb's are flying straightish as far as I can see them. Most of my sights aren't adjustable anyway.
  22. Should I branch out into Vietnam airsoft to get more use out of the Owen gun? I would just need a mix of P58 and US Alice webbing, a boonie and some puttees

I'd say go for it mate. Always another type of game to go to. You can get some of the stuff pretty cheap too. Would also be an excuse for more guns later on!

  23. Bio ammunition is just as good and having seen the difference in appearance of a local bio only site (spartan airsoft) I have to say I think it is the way forward. As for banning replica weapons, this will hit re-enactors even more than airsofters, they won't even be able to have 2 tone weapons in public. The whole thing is so badly thought out that it has no hope of becoming a reality.
  24. There is bound to be someone able to pick you up. It never hurts to ask, thats why most WW2 games will have a thread for asking about car shares etc. Being a rather niche activity, you will find that WW2 airsofters are even more friendly and helpful than normal airsofters.
  25. As a WW2 nerd, it would be a good idea to check out ww2airsoft.org.uk Next ww2 game is at the end of Feb at Combat south (near Portsmouth), there are German spaces left and I am sure someone will lend you a uniform if you ask nicely.
