  1. As I understand it they are expensive for what they are: http://www.airsoft-forums.co.uk/index.php/topic/27587-new-novritsch-aim-cam/?hl=novritsch
  2. Tan guns just make me think of Caramac lol. The Scar H does look beastly but then you have to go down the route of buying new mags and pouches.
  3. I was looking at the M4s for my second recoil shock until I saw how the Recce rifle looks with some nice rail covers and optics on it(it looks awful stock IMO) Personally I don't like the HK417 they have released as it looks better shorter, I already have a HK416 and I don't like the look of the SCARs as much as I used to. Just a shame you can't get the 416 with trades anymore as blank receivers look a bit generic to me.
  4. Depends on the gun really, the AKs and M4s are cheaper than their H&K and FN ranges: http://www.fire-support.co.uk/product/marui-recoil-m4a1-socom-airsoft-gun-ebb-aeg Reece I'd say that it all depends on whether you want a gun that you will basically gut and put your own parts in or one you will leave alone, or maybe upgrade parts that actually make a difference. One option would be buy a new gun and use it as is then strip the old one and have a play around with the internals without having to worry about missing a game due to a broken gun
  5. Dynatex are good for timed grenades, only downside is you need a specific tool to reload it and even then it's not the easiest of things to do in the field. To the point where i'd say it's practical to use once each game. The other option is impact grenades, I use an Oshiboom which is easy to use and reload. Main benefit to timed grenades is you can roll them down a corridor and use them on any surface, whereas timed prefer hard ground and have a very limited range as you can't throw them far(i.e. underarm only). Personally I've found the places I have wanted to use a grenade the most are where you would only be allowed to throw paper pyro. Things like over a hedge line or through a second storey window. It's something to consider as you will also not have to worry about them getting lost or stolen
  6. Yep, the actual issue is overkilling anyway. Who cares if you are shooting nothing or someone not taking their hits for 5 seconds?
  7. BFGs: Seems to be a mix between wanting to throw it in a spot that would be dangerous or where it would get lost. Tempted to sell them and buy a load of MK5s which i'd actually use lol.
  8. I thought it was a good site. It's a woodland site but the vast majority of it is covered in what I think are rhododendron bushes that the marshals have cut paths though with chainsaws as they are impassable. All the bushes make it primarily CQB, although there are some open areas around the edge of the site. The games were typical stuff like capture the flag or move object to given location. There was a game where you had to hold the button on a bomb placed in the middle of an open area to arm it. I found that because the cover was foliage it meant people can hide in it which made for much more tense battles, sometimes you would find it took multiple people getting shot to figure out where someone was. Facilities wise the site is down a savagely potholed road which leads to a small car park. When we went they said they sometimes have 100 people which was surprising given the car park and safe zone were packed with just over 20 of us. Lunch is not provided so you need to bring your own, if it's changed to Sandpit style lunches I would still bring your own Overall I thought it was a good site, only downside was a good half of our team would barely move from our spawn or block lanes. It happens but teams should have really been reshuffled after a game or two. There was also some quite bad hit taking, I raised it with marshals but it didn't change.
  9. Nuprols have a special coating that stops them feeding to reduce wear on your barrel
  10. It was around £8 per patch and £15 or £20 to get the design done.
  11. Yep used these guys, also got this place to do a patch design for us: https://www.facebook.com/AirsoftTacticalDesigns/photos_stream
  12. As others have said marshaling really makes the difference. Biggest gripes for me are if they are blatantly not paying attention to a firefight right in front(once had two marshals chatting whilst two players very close to them wouldn't take their hits for instance) of them or think they can shout at you for minor infringements. I'd heard people going on about how the marshals at Bluestreak get you to do press ups. Turns out they do it only to people who had mags in their gun in the safe zone or went into the game area without eye pro. It's all done in jest but hopefully the safety aspect sticks with people. I still think more sites need to test shoot people though as standing right next to a load of players just tells any would be cheat to pack it in till they move on. The amount of times a player who possibly wasn't taking hits and lo and behold with a marshal within earshot suddenly does is considerable.
  13. Unless i'm mistaken you want a glock 21 holster as the WE G17/19 dimensions don't match the real steel and need so you'd have to mold/file the Fobus G17 holster to fit. I'm basing this off what people have found with the Blackhawk SERPA holster, so it might be different for a Fobus.
  14. I haven't actually ever come across anyone saying anything critical about HPA setups other than they aren't a fan of the line and tank that comes with it. I'm still baffled why Americans seem so insistent on running their guns at as high an FPS as possible. Then they instigate bang rules because it's unpleasant getting shot at close range with them?!
  15. If you are shooting at someone and they aren't taking the "hits"(especially 35/40+ metres) it's likely they are dispersing around them, you are out of range or you are a bad shot. Even if you know someone is not taking their hits because you can see them bouncing off the player resist the urge to shout "take your hits!" - This is something that wasn't covered until I think the 3rd game I played to be fair. Now if it's at close range(i.e. indoor voice range) I'll politely say to the player that I have seen my shots hit them, or I will mention it to a marshal. I learnt fairly quickly that calmly explaining to a marshal that you suspect a player wasn't taking their hits holds more weigh than essentially moaning about someone being a cheat. Likewise I have had people shout at me for not taking hits when the sound is BBs hitting a material neither my gear nor my body is made out of , when I did actually get shot out I will mention to a marshal on the way to back to regen that I've been called for "not taking hits". Bring as many spares as you can. Whether that's clothing, BBs, batteries or guns, if something you need fails you could be going home before lunch.
  16. I had to import a Serpa H&K P30 holster from the US, but that fits perfectly. I used the Midway UK website so didn't have to pay import costs, I think they've changed names or something since. Hopefully the holsters are more prevalent now. The only thing I found with mine was the left handed slide release sort of needed flicking to release when I first got it. This went away after a couple of games though.
  17. Got to say that the HK45 is my favourite gun out of all the ones I own. It's as fun to shoot as it was over a year ago when I bought it.
  18. Yeah get some 7.4V LiPos that are the biggest mAh rating that will physically fit your gun. It really does depend also on how many BBs you get through on a day, a rough guide is 2 BBs fired per 1 mAh rating and you always want to be swapping out LiPos before you run them flat. Really the key rule of LiPos is don't run them flat and preferably don't use a crap charger and you will be fine. Whilst it's probably not something you want to hear that charger is horrible for the money. Get something like this: http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/store/__5548__IMAX_B6_50W_5A_Charger_Discharger_1_6_Cells_GENUINE_.html You can get a cheap little brick charger but i'd pay 10 quid more and get one that will charge anything you throw at it properly. Only daunting thing is setting it up for your batteries but i'd be happy to explain this as mine is a clone of that one(Turnigy Accucel 6) I'd definitely get spare batteries though as SD says. I run 3 on my rifle and 3 on my LMG, the rifle I switch out at lunch normally to be on the safe side(plus a spare in case one plays siller buggers) and the LMG I switch because I'd almost certainly nuke the cells in a LiPo getting through 3000-6000 or so BBs in a morning
  19. One thing I think some people overlook is how use of light effects your team. I've had a couple of occasions at The Outpost where a team mate turns his torch on and off checking different areas, my eyes were adjusted to the dark but now it's basically impossible to see without that damn torch lol. I'm not saying people shouldn't do it but it goes from me thinking that i'll get used to the dark to thinking I wish I had a torch now as my eyes can't adjust.
  20. I think it looks pretty good, never played the previous games so get to judge it on it's own merits. I was pretty pissed off with DICE/EA over how BF4 launched but DICE has continued working on it, both on the technical issues and the balance side. Pretty impressive, especially as BF2 never had pretty gamebreaking issues it had resolved. I'd say I would wait for the reviews but in all honesty I get as excited about games as I did 20 years ago.
  21. They didn't when I went but that was also back when I kept a mag loaded with 0.2g BBs as a chrono mag.
  22. Anyone know if you can wash Oakley Factory Pilot gloves? Had them for a long time and they make my kit bag smell grim lol.
  23. The Mall is the only site i've played at that makes you chrono with 0.20g BBs from their own stock. Everywhere else has just calculated for me saying i'm using 0.25g BBs. Both have downsides really, the former not factoring potential joule creep and the latter taking a player's word for what weight they are actually using. Personally I don't really care which method a site uses as any chronoing is better than not doing it and it's more or less impossible to eliminate the possibility of some bell end deliberately running a hot gun.
  24. One thing i'd recommend if you want to use a pistol to it's full potential is to have a sling that quick detaches from your primary weapon. The reason being that there are situations where you want to rush people and it's much faster to do so with a pistol and even better when your torso is clear from your rifle.
