  1. I've had no issues lying down and crawling around on my stomach wearing a plate carrier with 5 mags on the front.
  2. Yeah was going to say I thought it should drop to sub 400 on .43s. My AEGs lose more than 24 FPS switching from .20s to .25s
  3. That sounds like an enormous amount of Joule creep lol. Nice gun though
  4. Yep or M14 or G36, all the guns people buy to avoid getting an M4 or whatever can make up over 50% of the guns on a game day. Nice to have some variety but there's guns people seem to think are a lot rarer than they actually are.
  5. It's funny how a lot of people who make a thing about M4s being too common have the next most common guns in Airsoft.
  6. They do look like cracking guns, if I was to get a Real Sword that would be my choice as their AK lines aren't quite what I am looking for in an AK. I think one of the regulars had one for sale a while back and I was very tempted by it.
  7. I'm a big fan of the MP5 SD models and AKs with metal receivers and nicely varnished wooden furniture always look decent. My Stoner M63/MK23 mod 0 seems to catch a lot of people's eye too as I'm always getting asked about it. I also feel a bit like i'm cheating using it but that's a whole other story lol. The Real Sword type 97s really stand out, think i've seen one ever on the field. Still not sure if I like the look of them or not though.
  8. Here's a couple of discount codes for this weekend: http://www.tactree.co.uk/ 10% off all orders, using code: BH10 I've used them for some 5.11 kit in the past, very good service and http://www.uktactical.com/ 25% off Warrior Assault Systems kit, using code QUARTER
  9. I think this forum needs a choose your own adventure series where we get a poll and whichever option gets the most votes wins. If I was to hold a strangers gun I would make sure to wash my hands afterwards.
  10. It's really that I don't play a lot of CQB, or more accurately I play mixed sites that have CQB but where trying to run a shotgun as a primary means you'd have to try and make it work in longer range engagements. Think woodland sites with buildings and that's where I find it impractical. I tried using a large hydration pouch as a scabbard but it weighs a fair amount and unholstering even a short shotgun off your back is no mean feat. I was left wondering if I would have been better off buying a cheap tri shot as the performance is much the same and you don't have to consider gas refills, not to mention the price. In proper CQB where you aren't faced with things like shooting down long corridors it's an absolute beast. The length of it is absolutely spot on as you can intuitively hide 90%+ of your body and coupled with the tri shot means it's effortless to point and shoot. The gun itself is really nice other than the play on the foregrip(it wobbles side to side a bit, but you won't notice it when playing) you also have to be fairly assertive cocking it otherwise it sort of gets stuck and you have to pump it again. As a gun that you know you would use a lot it's a pretty good bet though, you just need to factor in buying a load of TM shells plus a spare gas mag. The latter actually being surprisingly cheap, around £30 last time I checked.
  11. If it's pushing the mag slightly forward that fixes it you can get little sticky backed velcro strips that can be stuck inside the magwell to push the magazine forward.
  12. The shop will have to update it as my email address was wrong when I first registered and I emailed the UKARA address on their website and was told the shop needs to sort it out. Best thing to do is going to be to hassle the shop till they get bored of speaking to you and just do it like you asked. I know when I got registered they had a database form with all the fields for you that they fill in, which is why i'm dubious about why it takes some shops weeks to process them. Unless some retailers have direct access to the DB and others don't? If you register at another site they will want you to do your 3 games in no less than 2 months again.
  13. You could get Care Bear patches, in MMOs it used to be used as a derogatory term for players that helped others out(the monsters!)
  14. The breacher is a nice gun but it's the least practical/used gun I own. I've contemplated selling it and getting an MP7 but the breacher has dropped in price a load since I bought it. Guess it depends if you play a lot of CQB.
  15. I've got no problem giving people ammo, although I generally don't take loose BBs out of the safe zone. When I started it felt like BBs were a valuable commodity, but now it seems pretty trivial. Quite a while back I played at a site where they didn't have any BBs for sale, I think they forgot them or something. Now I pack enough ammo for two people just in case something like that happens again - I don't generally buy ammo onsite anymore as it tends to be comparatively expensive and means you have to make do with whatever they are selling(yay Nuprols!)
  16. My mates got a G&G SR-25 and it's a really nice gun. His has been upgraded to shoot just under 450 FPS and the range is excellent. The biggest thing to consider when getting a DMR is what FPS to have it setup at as site limits for DMRs vary from none(i.e. 350 FPS standard AEG rules) through to 450 - 500 FPS with sniper rifle MED rules. If you are going to play a lot at sites with more restrictive rules then the less value you will see. For instance if you play at sites with a 400 FPS limit but still have the 30 metre medium engagement distance you may be better served getting a ~350 FPS AEG with a well setup hop up.
  17. The material they are made out of make a distinct noise regardless of plates as chest rigs sound much the same. If you change to foam pads or whatever you are still unlikely to feel the hits and if you run no plates you'll likely run into the issue of the plate carrier not holding it's shape properly. I wouldn't worry too much about it as in my experience the arms/hands and head are the areas you tend to get shot in anyway. Sods law when you do get shot in the torso it's on the thin UBACS type material around your stomach lol.
  18. Looks like they are made out of different material. WAS bag is 500D Cordura, Viper is 600D Polyester
  19. I use one of these: http://uktactical.com/p-690-warrior-twin-rifle-bag.aspx It's not cheap but the build quality is excellent. In mine I can store: LMG or HK416 in the main compartment HK416 or submachinegun/M870 in the smaller compartment, both compartments have 2 velcro straps to stop the guns from move about and are padded 7 PMAGs in a pocket Wallet, keys, phone, a couple of smoke grenades and 2 pistol mags in a pocket Last pocket has straps for a pistol, plus two mounts for mags so I have a pistol mag and my M870 gas magazine in them. Plus 6 LiPos Aside from a couple of indents from my LMGs receiver digging into the padding there's pretty much no signs of wear after 18+ months of owning it. There certainly are cheaper bags available but personally i'd rather pay a bit more for one that's really sturdy. I own a Plano hard case too, but the biggest issue there is any gun aside from my LMG slides around. Negates having the eggshell padding when the guns hit the hard plastic case as soon as you try and walk along holding the carry handle. It's relegated to being storage for guns i'm not taking out to a game, it also doesn't fit in my boot lol.
  20. To confirm are you using the same BBs as before? The only time my HK416 has ever double fed is using Nuprols.
  21. The dead players is a good one. When you have flanked players and drop them then they shout "AH MAN WE DIDN'T SEE YOU" - Yes I know you didn't please pipe down. It's nice having a bit of banter but not when you are in the process of flanking more people that have no idea you are there. Also try to avoid using being dead and walking back to safe zone as an opportunity to scout half the enemy team. Everyone does it now and again without thinking but some players are terrible for it. I don't think I have ever heard it mentioned in a briefing but it is a cheap tactic.
  22. If you think you have hit someone but aren't 100% assume you haven't. I'm sure people thinking "well they aren't taking their hits so I won't take mine" is the main reason cheating escalates in a day, and in actual fact you never hit them. Don't fire in the safe zone, ever. A lot of sites cover this in the brief but either way it still happens so much it isn't funny. Sometimes I wish I could hold my gun up to someone who is doing its face and say "this gun has no magazine in it, are you happy for me to pull the trigger to confirm there's not a BB loaded?" - I would never do this but I am illustrating a point in case anyone isn't sure When crossing in front of another player shout something like "crossing" let's them know what you are doing and avoids some point blank friendly fire incidents. Fortunately a lot of sites mention this, but if you aren't sure if you are hit just take it. I've been walking back to the safe zone and realised that what hit me was a rain drop.. It's better safe than sorry. Edit: Most of what I am saying tends be covered in safety briefs, but anyone that plays at a site regularly will notice that occasionally the person doing the briefing is essentially relying on regulars to highlight anything they missed. This is something I have seen happen at multiple sites.
  23. Yeah that is pretty decent. Next test would be if you can hit a man sized target at 50 metres.
  24. A lot of mid caps need the springs bedding in before they will hold as many as they should. I've had my mags for so long I can't remember how much they held when I got them. Although 50 does sound low.
