  1. I think some people are unaware that you can use google to find things out. I actually fixed my boiler about a year ago by googling the model number and error code it was flashing up. Although it does get a bit tedious answering questions that have answers lurking round every corner, there's a couple of things to keep in mind. Searching forums definitely requires the correct keywords to be used and Airsoft is still so niche you may not find any answers, again depending on keywords. I always think the worst case scenario if we don't help people is a load of frustrated players that are too worried about winding people up to ask questions, or players that are horribly misinformed because they didn't want to fact check something they had seen stated as fact. Google is a good start though and to be honest it's only so obvious to me through years playing around with computers and subsequently working in IT. I think there is an assumption that people know the same things you do, for instance I have had multiple people basically say that I should rewrite Microsoft Office so it works in a way they want it to.
  2. Around £100 and you would be better off splitting accessories not mounted to the gun and selling separately.
  3. Thing is even if they are removable it doesn't get around the issue of you having them on you in some description. I'm not trying to be a killjoy but it's something i'd even go as far as to get in writing from say the maidenhead/slough/windsor/reading police that it's ok to do. It's extremely unlikely but it would be less than ideal for you to have a boot full of RIFs alongside police insignia and other bits and pieces that could make it look like you are trying to impersonate a firearms officer.
  4. It should be ok provided you only wear anything that could be construed as police gear onsite. The only other issue would be on the off chance you get pulled over and they think you are impersonating a police officer, even with skirmish receipts etc they may not be too happy about it. As far as loadouts go I think it could be pretty tidy but I wouldn't want the hassle potentially associated with it myself.
  5. I have both and the ICE glasses are much less prone to fogging up but also don't offer full seal protection so there's a small chance a BB could get in under the gap. They are both good, so up to you which disadvantage bothers you more.
  6. Best bet for a metal slide pistol is going to be one the WE gas blowback variants, they have a fair few to choose from.
  7. Yeah this is massively dodgy, they tried to push through a similar proposal in the 90s and got stopped. I absolutely do not trust any of the governments that have served in my lifetime to put our interests first. I'm sure they would sort the NHS out if thinning out the useless management involved a lot of backhanders.
  8. Welcome to the forum, i'll be on the Vendetta team at Longmoor next weekend.
  9. You could try Blue Streak which is a little way outside Aylesbury. Not been myself but my mate won't stop going on about it after he went the other week. We are planning on going there on 19th July if you can't get a game/fancy tagging along. http://www.bluestreak-airsoft.co.uk/index.php
  10. The old Red Cross hospital in Taplow would have been amazing. However I think part of the reason they kept people out was asbestos, not that it stopped us https://www.flickr.com/photos/emmamykytyn/sets/72157594147416515/ It was a pretty spooky place to go at night.
  11. Yeah I don't think it really matters what time people use and it is funny considering we are for the most part simulating what soldiers do, regardless of how accurate or realistic it is. Maybe we should say "hit player and said player acknowledged the fact that they were hit" as hitting someone doesn't necessarily mean they won't cheat or not notice they were hit and continue playing.
  12. Not really, but i'd rather not spend the whole day getting shot without hitting anyone myself. I think if you focus on it too much it will ruin your day when you do badly, I find this to be true in computer games too.
  13. That battery should be fine, although i'd look for one with a higher mAh rating if you can fit it in your gun. You'd also be better off getting an imax b6 or turnigy accucel 6 charger - They are a bit more expensive but have a load more features and support lots of battery types. The main thing really with LiPos is to carry a spare or two as it doesn't hurt to switch batteries at lunch rather than knacker the cells using the same battery all day till you run it flat.
  14. I use alcohol wipes as above, but barrels shouldn't really need cleaning often. The first time I cleaned the barrel in my HK416 it was filthy, then when I have cleaned it 10 or so games later it was more or less clean. This would suggest to me that the original dirt was probably in the barrel when it shipped from the factory. Also if you are cleaning the barrel without removing it from the gun you should be aware that you can interfere with the hop rubber, although it shouldn't be a problem as long as you don't ram the cleaning rod in like you are packing a musket. It is going to be preferable to remove the barrel and clean it separately though, I have wondered if it's possible to push dirt into the end of the barrel the hop run sits.
  15. All joking aside I see using a lot of ammo as almost being a playstyle. It was pretty funny yesterday though when we played a game that was semi auto only and suddenly lots of the players had trouble hitting people. One thing I like doing is filling all my mags up the day before so it feels like you've used even less. The fresh bottle of blasters I opened yesterday is now just under the level of where the label starts
  16. I guess it depends if it's a saving over buying individually and if you mind having to put the money up front. For me it was getting a bit nasty spending £30 on ammo on days when I wanted to run the LMG.
  17. I get through 2-3 bottles a day running my LMG, mixture of it firing fast and people needing a bit of encouragement to take hits. Once full autoed someone for 5-10 seconds as he somehow thought he could get away with not taking it.
  18. I buy 12 x 3k bottles of 0.25g Blasters from Socom Tactical which is £80 posted. Personally I'm surprised everyone doesn't bulk buy if they know a good source as they don't exactly go off and will get used, it saves money in the long run and i've been to sites that don't sell BBs(not to mention they can be £10 a bottle if they do) They also do these: http://www.socomtactical.net/airsoft-accessories/ammo-and-gas/0-25-airsoft-bbs/25-bags-of-3000-0-25g-bbs-bulk-deal-save-40.html Which is even cheaper, no idea what that ammo is like though.
  19. I use them with my team mates and they are pretty decent radios. Well made, easy to program and we've had them working happily when we are about 1/2 mile apart. You can get something like Baofengs a bit cheaper but they are also considerably more complicated to setup a channel for your team to use. You should be able to use headsets that take motorola 1 pin connectors - Quite a lot of them are split so you are plugging a push to talk(PTT) unit into the radio and from the PTT you have a generic connector the actual headset plugs into. That's at least how all the Z Tactical headsets i've used work.
  20. I've been really happy with my german para boots which i've had for about 2 years now. Main factor is going to be the shape of your feet though, i've had to use two completely different thickness innersoles due to the instep on one foot being bigger than on the other as an example.
  21. I couldn't see it making a difference. Saw some guy saying his pistol could happily headshot at 50 metres the other day on Facebook and had to resist the urge to call bullshit. I very much doubt anyone could upgrade a pistol in a way that wouldn't easily outperform the accuracy of the shooter, if that makes sense.
  22. WE Glock 17 plus a spare mag and some gas. Nearly bought an WE MP5 SD but just about resisted, I think.
  23. You could get: http://www.uktactical.com/p-8716-warrior-dcs-plate-carrier-base-olive-drab.aspx or http://www.uktactical.com/p-10290-warrior-ricas-compact-base-olive-drab.aspx Then look at getting cheap mag pouches, there's a bundle on there which is around £150 which is 5 mag pouches and 2 utility pouches(for the DCS) http://www.uktactical.com/p-8717-warrior-dcs-da556-olive-drab.aspx or http://www.uktactical.com/p-10561-warrior-dcs-m4-olive-drab.aspx That works out cheaper than buying them individually. Up to you really, the warrior pouches are nice quality but you could get cheaper ones which may or may not start coming apart after a few months use.
  24. I know so many people that have had feed issues with Nuprol BBs I'd not use them if I was given them for free. My mate uses the Airsoft Surgeon 0.3g BBs: http://uk.redwolfairsoft.com/redwolf/airsoft/BBs_Tools_BBs_Airsoft_Surgeon_RWA_ABS_Precision_Grade_0_30g_BBs_4000rds_bag.htm
  25. I don't think i've been to a game where there haven't been at least a couple of people cheating. The problem always is that cheaters will always start taking their hits the minute a marshal stands near them, the best solution is to get marshals to test shoot people. They just need to not be dopey and test shoot the same person 5 times in a day, otherwise people will understandably get pissed off. As far as gear goes, i dunno about anyone else but I most commonly get shot in the arms and face as you have to expose them to shoot. I have seen much more of a link between non hit taking and the person being a cheat than anything gear related. It's already been mentioned that a lot of the hit taking accusations end up just being people not in range. I used to do this but now only chalk it up to cheating if I am well in range and can generally see the shots bouncing. When I run my LMG I generally keeping shooting people until they put their hand up. I've had multiple instances of marshals actually telling the other players to take their hits or to make it clear they are hit if they don't want to keep being shot. Generally speaking though it's not too much of a problem, just calmly report people including what they are wearing to marshals. If nothing really gets done it might be worth considering another site.
