  1. Mag pouches and Fobus holster still for sale, check Gear for Sale section

  2. Platatac order is here :)

  3. Umm have you tried taking off the existing flash suppressor? Because I'd imagine if you did you'd be able to see if it has a threaded barrel or not. The same one came on my Classic Army MP5K and then there should simply be a thread protector piece that just screws off. Standard size is 14mm and usually counter clockwise threads. Some guns like Classic Army (at least on my MP5K) and G&P have CW threads instead. You can buy suppressors like this one http://shop.ehobbyasia.com/spartan-doctrine-110x30mm-us-force-recon-silencer-14mm-cw-ccw.html#.VOJi4PmsWPs which are CW on one end and CCW on the other.
  4. Have a look at First and Only and Cerberus Airsoft for sites around Manchester. Bolton Woodland will probably be my local outdoor site if you exclude Alpha One. Agreed with JCheese on the sniping thing. Go for it if you want but an AEG is generally better for beginners as sniping isn't what you might expect. A sniper rifle without upgrades (probably another £100 at a minimum) is going to get roughly the same range / accuracy as an AEG anyway, except you're limited to bolt action and can't use it inside 20m. Also means you'll want to buy a pistol straight away too.
  5. You're right, I do know it's nothing to do with impact ratings but thought it might suggest they are slightly higher quality in some way. I stand corrected.
  6. £4! 1st rule of airsoft is to never cheap out on your eye pro. You've only got one pair of eyes and you don't want to lose them playing a game. Admittedly yes all mesh is supposed to be the same stuff, but I'd at least get the WE NUPROL range. They've got a CE certificate which might mean they're a bit better. I'd recommend Heroshark stuff though, it's the best in terms of mesh protection.
  7. Why's my Platatac order still marked as processing?

    1. AK47frizzle

      AK47frizzle

lazy bums I guess, my specwarfare order took 2 weeks to process and they didn't include the silencer in the bloody package

if you're ordering direct from platatac then there's lead times on a lot of items, some stuff you'll have to wait for them to make.

Few guys I know did a group order from Tyr Tactical and it took 6 months to ship!

Hmm I had guessed it's because they're actually still making them. But they were a limited run so had thought they'd produced them all by now...idk will wait a bit longer obvs then contact them. No rush.

    UKARA Mystery

There's no point for the majority going to the trouble of obtaining other forms of proof such as a photo of them airsofting (which is not widely accepted or solid proof) when you can simply go to a few skirmishes and be done with it. Reading what you've just said I completely agree, I think it would be good to see some retailers / fields be more clear about it but I think it could just end up being a lot more confusing. Still it seems people are reluctant or don't think to join forums, with the amount of money you can put it into it, it's stupid not to really.
  9. I've heard more bad reviews about FMA than Emerson, but on here everyone recommends FMA?
  10. Hmm well I think APS are pretty...meh. To me they don't seem too great but I can't really comment as I've never had one. ASG don't make guns themselves (except the CZ3A1 and CZ805 which isn't released yet) their AUGs are re-branded JG! I'd usually say TM will be the best in terms of scope quality and gearbox, but I'm not too sure because I think they're quite old? Nevertheless I imagine things haven't changed too much since then (isn't like it's one of their guns from the 90s) I'd say JG is definitely gonna be the most well known 'go-to' option for an AUG, I'm buying one myself later this year. You can buy an A1 off TaiwanGun in Poland for about 120 euros I think. Personally after the A3 for 220 euros (165 quid) Don't know if there are any other differences aside from the front end externally to justify the extra 100 euros but would rather have the rails myself. I recently made a topic on upgrading it and got a few replies from other guys all with TM AUGs, would suggest they're good guns.
  11. Cheers for all the input guys, really helpful! The airbrake and AOE shims seem to be exactly what I need.
  12. Awesome Can't wait to see it since I'm going for a Kryptek Highlander loadout myself!
  13. Awesome, never thought of doing Russian Battlefield kits. Obviously US impressions are more popular but the rifleman loadout is expensive to do (accurately) As already said Condor and Helikon are good for the money. There's Flyye as well but it can get ridiculously expensive (some of their PCs are like £300, could buy FirstSpear, Tactical Tailor etc for that kind of crazy money) Warrior Assault Systems, of course, is another. Look on UK Tactical for their stuff. Some of the best value mil-spec stuff especially when it's on offer. Looks surprisingly (or maybe deceptively) simple to replicate tbh - apart from sourcing the camo. PC even looks like an MBSS to me. You will notice Russian SF are very western in terms of gear these days.
  14. What the fck is a D4817..? Serious answer: I'd just keep saving up, as aforementioned they're generally not gonna be upgradable anyway. What's more, magazines might not be interchangeable? Extra batteries would probably be compatible (if they're the same mini Tamiya connectors) but they'd cost at least a third of the price of the gun itself, each. Could hire three times then buy from a European retailer like TaiwanGun or Gunfire (once you have UKARA) because guns from there should be cheaper For your UKARA defence, should be three times within a year, BUT not all in under 2 months. Preferably the same site (otherwise you'd need proof from each one? I don't think anybody does go to more than one their first 3 times, not worth the extra hassle) Then you'll fill in a form or summut I can't remember exactly and wait for confirmation you're ont database. Bear in mind the self check thingy website is shite from my expedience and what I've heard from others, and probably won't work (as in won't display your record if you search for it) Speaking of which I'm pretty sure I have a UKARA defence despite being 17 and I'm down as being 43 or something (due to some cock up with the guy who used to work at halo mill I guess)
  15. Saw int Guardian recently they were kicking off about fucking police carrying guns and how they were "American style patrols" Fucks sake 90% of the world's police are probably ALL armed - nevermind only 6000 or something with access to firearms. The majority are going to be nothing like some police in the US. And this is coming from someone who is left wing and disagrees with police militarisation / authoritarian government etc. As was mentioned earlier it seems there truly are no moderate political parties. They're all hoplophobic (although admittedly giving us back the right would probably open it up more to those in society we don't want to be armed, and all the good people would be the unarmed one, just saying they shouldn't have banned them in the first place) Found out it was Labour who banned pistols in '97 so don't really like them anymore. Not to mention how increasingly right wing they've became since Blair. Ffs we need a constitution IMO, stop govs just banning things all the time. I mean what was that shit recently about Cameron banning types of porn? I know it's nearly the end of his term but come on fucking seriously is that what they are spending their time on debating in the House of Commons. Didn't realise how bad the greens were either, again over the top unnecessary proposals to ban airsoft for no legitimate reason. Saw a FB comment about how they wanted to get rid of the military and thing is I don't even know if it was serious or not but I can imagine they'd try and do it.
  16. Hey guys I'm pretty set on a JG AUG A2 or A3 as my next gun now (around November though) Are there any common issues with them, and if so what would be required to fix these? If I remember correctly the trigger can be temperamental and I know supposedly the feed nipple (never heard a gearbox part referred to as a feed nipple before) will wear away quickly. I'm not necessarily planning a DMR build but the idea is to improve accuracy. range and reliability (use longer inner barrel length to an advantage) Also considering a silent parts setup and wondering how effective / useful / practical (as in how silent will it really be, will the gun sound much better) this would be if anybody has done this themselves? So the following upgrades at the moment are as follows: 'Replacement AUG feed nipple' off AirsoftWorld - £11.18 SHS AUG CNC Air Seal Nozzle - $4.50 SHS AUG CNC Cylinder Head - $8.50 Madbull 'Shark' or 'Blue 60' Hopup Buckings - up to £16 Madbull 6.03 509mm TBB - £33 SHS or Super Shooter 13:1 Gear Sets ~ $26 SHS or Super Shooter V3 Spring Guides - $9 M90 Spring (Probably SHS?) AIRLAB Sorbo Pad to correct AOE - £5 New piston if needed? SHS Full Steel teeth or Madbull XF MOSFET (to correct trigger problems?) Gate PICO? (any cheap, quality, easy to install ones - will probably get Patrol Base tech to do it with good solder / soldering iron etc) or (instead of other cylinder / cylinder head or piston head) http://uk.redwolfairsoft.com/redwolf/airsoft/Accessories_AEG_Cylinders_Pistons_Systema_Silent_Head_Set_AUG_SG550.htm http://uk.redwolfairsoft.com/redwolf/airsoft/Accessories_AEG_Cylinders_Pistons_HurricanE_New_BORE_UP_Cylinder_Set_for_AUG.htm I know Systema are obviously a good brand but unsure about HurricanE, and at the prices they are on offer at, might it even be worth buying those parts right now before I miss out? Any recommendations on which would be the best parts to choose? Appreciate it guys cos although I'm a regular on here I'm really inexperienced with internals. Will be upgrading my MP5 soon as practice actually (gears, spring) I know most upgrades will be an easy drop in but find shimming etc quite confusing and will take practice.
  17. Hmm interesting...Warrior has released some Fast Mag style things (I know ITW aren't the only manufacturer)

      @GiantKiwi - think of the money you'll save! ;)

  18. Just the AUG magazines unfortunately. I wish some manufacturer would make an A3 NATO! Saw a video where a guy modded some PMAGs to fit but it means taking a big chunk out of the back and a portion of the front to replicate the AUG mags shape. There are AUG mags by MAG on eHobby Asia still available at the moment. ~$40 IIRC. Worth bearing in mind they appear to be out of stock everywhere else (in the UK) EDIT - sorry I just saw brotherwood linked the same ones -sorry didn't fully read whole post- thought they'd be available there as well, but yeah they're probably the best for the money. I think I'll buy an AUG sometime as well. Even though I was just gonna go bog standard AR and pimp it up, but if I really want an awesome looking M4 I'll get a GBBR so it's especially satisfying and more unique + no battery limitations (both in terms of where it can go and size you can use) Speaking of customising etc AUGs are great to spray paint (cos of the huge stock / body that is one piece rather than separate receivers / handguard / stock if you catch my drift)
  19. Looks like the pair you'd get in a sportline starter kit like with my MP5. I use them all the time for plinking but that's all they're advertised as and are supposed to be used for - protection against a richochet. Either he's used those or maybe bought them off some 'bb guns' retailer who sell them as super high impact rated military ballistic goggles.
  20. I don't see the SA80 in there but that is one ugly gun.
  21. Kind of bizarrely, if you already own one you don't need a defence. They're not illegal to own, but it would be illegal for the retailer or private seller if they sold a gun to you without an appropriate defence.
  22. Hop up bucking and barrel would help for range and accuracy.
  23. The manual has a parts explosion at the back if that helps
