Taiwangun Shipping Disruption (Brexit Related Content)

It's not hindsight if you knew it was going to happen To be fair, it probably is a bit disingenuous to blame Brexit for the entire shitshow. UPS are doing FAR worse than anyone else it seems. -

Nobody said it was your problem. I was explaining why your post may have been misinterpreted. The platform (specialised or not) is irrelevant, the critical points remain the same. Past 200mm barrel length you will not get massive improvements in range and accuracy by adding 100mm or so length. The most important factors are bore quality and hop effectiveness. Getting a longer barrelled M4 will not make you more accurate or have way better accuracy unless it also has a more effective hop unit and a better barrel than either your TK45c or your Firehawk (which is ENTIRELY possible given that they aren't the best to begin with). None of which should stop you from buying whatever you please (and I'm sure it won't). As for the MK23, no I mean good range and accuracy as an absolute regardless of platform. -

OK, let me put it this way - you have 29 posts up to this point. Those of us with higher counts have seen this conversation time and again so it becomes second nature to assume (rightly or wrongly) that the same reasoning is being applied. As far as the short length of the barrel goes - how would you explain the MK23? That has a 123mm inner barrel and yet is well known for its range and accuracy. The quality of the bore and the effectiveness of the hop unit/nub/rubber combination has far more effect on range and accuracy than an extra 100mm of barrel length. -

The bit I don't get is that we all knew this was coming. I know that some of us made their purchases pre-January in a bid to avoid all this but were unlucky but seriously - who bought after Jan 1st and didn't think there'd be an issue? -

Because there's endless posts from people on here that say they want a longer barrelled gun for woodland purely because they're under the misapprehension that anything much more than about 200mm makes more than three parts of fuck all difference to accuracy and range (on an AEG at least - bolties are a whole different can of badger turds). I refer you to my reply in the "Why did you start airsoft?" thread regarding the physics aspect. -
Try running your sling over your left shoulder and under your right (basically the opposite of what you've got).

This has always been the case. It's always been cheaper but more hassle to order from abroad, we just got used to quite a smooth process built up over a number of years ironing out the kinks. Still...blue passports. Oddly, it might actually be easier to order in from China once the whole pandemic thing is FINALLY under control. Hong Kong already has a reciprocal tax agreement with the UK so in theory at least it should be similar to what we had with the EU. It'll take longer and potentially cost more to ship, but I seem to remember a time when if you didn't buy from the UK you were buying from places like Redwolf, RSOV etc. -

Now that's a plan! I seem to have this weird thing in my brain that attracts me to heavy guns. I really want a HK417 Recon at the moment, because my EBR just isn't awkward and front heavy ENOUGH! -

I think the only gun I have that weighs around what yours does is an MP5K, everything else is heavier (M4's, a SCAR which weighs about the same as Guildford when it has the EGLM mounted, the M249, M14 EBR...) Not gonna deny they can be heavy old beasts so I usually take a lighter one for later in the day! Bit of adrenaline and you don't notice so much! -

Non airsoft but - we just bought some hardware at work that is made by a Swedish company. Our purchase was with the UK office, in GBP and invoiced with UK VAT. The hardware was shipped ex-works from Sweden and now DHL want import duty and VAT. Clusterfuck. -

I've seen quite a few similar ones (again mostly non airsoft). It's just not worth the hassle for most of them! -

We have a few guys use them at my regular site (Red Alert). As long as they're used properly (indirect fire) they're fine BUT they are 'kin loud. Definitely louder than a MK5! As far as getting hit by one, they're not terribly weighty (hence the impact fused ones don't always go off on soft ground) and in terms of the explosive force...unless you're holding onto one when it goes off then it's going to be akin to getting hit by a flashbang as it goes off. If you're OK with those getting chucked about then I don't really see why you'd have an issue with TAGs. If I could justify the cost then I'd use them no argument! They're a proper force multiplier if you have access to a bunch of them and an MGL! -

Just remember that while it may not be their fault, it IS their responsibility. As the purchaser, your contract is with TG, UPS is their chosen carrier and until the package is delivered to the intended recipient it's still TG's problem. -

Let me have a look in my spares box. I may have one i don't need. -
Nice, where's the shotgun sheath from?

I have my mags on my chest for this very reason, if they're across your centre mass then you can reload with either hand. If they're around either side of your waist and you need a mag from your right side when you're shooting right handed then you're going to get stuck. Hardly life and death I know but there you go. Much like yourself I tend to try and mount accessory controls centrally if I can but not always as long as I can reach them. Of course, it's more of an issue for any of us that use a side arm as the holster will be right where his second set of primary mags are.
-
Having half your mags on your non-dominant side is going to be an issue unless you plan on cycling them across when you're quiet.

Is this UKAC or something? Yes, they're legit. As mentioned above, you need a £140 minimum order now and they will tell you that as a UK buyer it is entirely at your own risk. You can put your UKARA number in the order comments and ask them to put it on the address label or just on the outside but this has always been their policy. It's absolutely a UPS problem. My brother in law is waiting on £20K worth of hardware for work sent via UPS from the Netherlands. UPS say they've got around a 2-3 month delay, they also say they've delivered it because one of the three boxes turned up. -
