  1. Good point, well made.
  2. Krytac had issues with the receiver cracking around the rear body pin plus they have a number of proprietary parts. Microswitch triggers per se aren't a problem these days as long as they use a decent quality switch. As the gun you mention has a fancy programmable mosfet in it the microswitch won't be passing big current so it should be fine. Of course, being a proprietary mosfet (ie not an off the shelf unit from someone like Gate or Perun) then replacement options are limited if it goes pop.
  3. If you're new - watch this.

If you're not, watch it anyway and then go check out his other videos!

as with all things it's a balance.

good hardware allows you to leverage skill, it means all that effort getting into the right position, having a good aim etc isn't wasted because the gun doesn't shoot where you point it.

i do agree with his point that you don't need to be spending megabucks on hardware to get a passable level of performance, a cyma with a few key tweaks will do 80% of the job.

I absolutely agree but his main point is that a lot of noobs think the reason they're not hitting things is the gun when 90% of the time it's their lack of skill/awareness.

true, but it works both ways, you give a skilled player a nerf gun they might still be able to get kills, but nowhere near as many as they could if they had decent hardware. going exclusively down either route can only ever take you so far.

this is ofc if we're taking "skill" as excluding teching skill, as the basic knowledge of say not buying off-brand .12's for playing outdoors could also be regarded as part of skill and experience same as psychology, sneakiness etc.

  4. That's the same price that Gate are charging on their own webstore so they're not overcharging per se, I really don't see the point of the product though. You'd also need a BluLink compatible Mosfet for this to work (Aster or Titan).
  5. The Gemtech is available for about 60EUR (plus shipping of course), the mags are £10 each from Patrolbase.
  6. That's what most people do. Stand by it, looking wistfully at the pile of frayed nylon and split seams wishing they'd bought something better.
  7. *ahem* no, I don't like football.
  8. If it's anything like our place it always goes like this: Bossman "You watch the match last night then?" Me "No, I don't like football" Bossman "But it was an England match!" Me "But I don't like football" Bossman "Yeah, but you have to watch England matches! EVERYONE watches England matches" Me "But I don't like football, you know this. I tell you this EVERY time you ask if I watched the match last night" Bossman "...so did you see that save in the second half?" Me *frenzied rage killing playing out in my head* "No. I don't like football"
  9. Never having actually seen it I just googled it to see where abouts it's supposed to be. Apparently while Midsomer is in a fictional county visual clues from the show suggest it's around Berkshire/North Hampshire kind of area so yeah...my neck of the woods. Not that I remember hearing of anyone being murdered with a wheel of cheese! ?
  10. Are you talking about the hammer spring base in a real P226 or the airsoft one? Do you have pictures? Also, minor thing but there is no "E1" grip. E2 is actually E2 i.e. "Ergonomics Squared" so it would be E2 or R (for the railed frame model) or just "standard".
  11. Beggarwood is just up the road from me. It's not exactly a hotbed of crime!
  12. This seems particularly relevant at the minute:
  13. I believe it was a dog walker or some such that wasn't entirely aware of what was going on. Entirely valid response from the Police though (more than 6 and travelling from Southampton).
  14. It was private land, the fine was issued for breaching the Rule of Six, no other action was taken.
  15. and our resident Red Shirt at the front! ?
  16. That's me in the middle at the back, rocking my new FFI Tiger Stripe G3's
  17. Nice. How are you finding the Cyma MP5 mags?
  18. Anyone else at Red Alert this weekend?

  19. Severely torn between making a Strike Back G3 and a G3SBS. Yours looks nice!
  20. @Bert918 just to clarify, he means the angle at which the motor pinion engages with the bevel gear. AOE is more often used to refer to the angle at which the sector gear meshes with the piston rack.
  21. As a fellow haver of bear paws for hands I feel your pain! AEG grips in general are wide (side to side) but if you want more depth (front to back) you could do a lot worse than a Magpul MIAD style. Visually similar to the other Magpul grips but with alternative backstraps you can use to adjust the grip size. For the GBBR, I'd suggest a proper Ergo Grip https://www.brownells.co.uk/epages/UK.sf/en_GB/?ViewAction=ViewFaceted&ObjectID=1987195&FacetValue_CategoryID=12613&CurrencyID=GBP

  23. Wow. £45 cheaper to just buy a new one from the very place he bought that one from. Bargain.
