  1. Having seen and handled the TMC one it's really not bad at all. As for FRV...nah. They might be good at what they do but they're shocking at handling orders. TacBelts are great and I'd recommend them over FRV any day of the week. I can also recommend Deadly Customs https://deadlycustoms.co.uk/product/deadly-customs-shooters-belt/ I'd also recommend the OPS/UR-Tactical ones (available in the UK here: https://www.hueys.co.uk/epages/es151784.sf/en_GB/?ObjectPath=/Shops/es151784/Products/"OPS Dring Cobra Warrior MC" or direct from HK via their own website https://www.ur-tactical.com/product-category/belt-suspender/).
  2. You'll be fine. I have about a dozen batteries stored together in one LiPo Safe bag.
  3. The Dye is good for not fogging, as long as you keep the airflow clear which is true for pretty much any half decent goggles/glasses. The thing with Dye style masks though is that if you wear a helmet with them they come right up under the front edge of the helmet and that chokes off the airflow. There's a few videos out there about how you can mod a FAST style helmet to work with a Dye mask (this is literally the first one I found on Google ) ) Or you could go for a Warq helmet as it's designed as a whole unit from the outset https://warq.eu/en/
  4. Hi and welcome aboard! Plenty to unwrap there but let's try and make a start. Have you looked into the UKARA/VCRA aspect of airsoft? If not then you'll need to be looking at two tone guns until you can get your registration/site membership that will allow you to buy black guns (plenty of threads on here about the exact details so I won't regurgitate it all here). The EVO is by most accounts a decent gun but not without its flaws. The Valken...is OK. Personally I'd suggest a G&G combat machine or possibly one of the Specna Arms Core range. As for camera mounts, there's plenty of mounts for most cameras that will fit onto a 20mm picatinny rail (have a look for Brain Exploder 3D printed stuff, he covers most of them). As for helmets - yes it's the easiest option but it's not the only one. Not all helmets work well with the Dye i4 style mask so if you're dead set on that then I'd look at other head mounting options like maybe a GoPro on a head strap. Other people will no doubt be able to advise on which cameras to go for for what specific purpose so I'll leave them to fill you in on that but just be aware that cheaper cameras don't come with image stabilisation that actually works and to ALWAYS get lens protectors!
  5. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Mil-Tec-Tactical-Airsoft-Combat-Military-Assault-Vest-w-Pouches-Black-/162694546826?_trksid=p2349526.m4383.l4275.c1 just under £40 new, £18 all in seems pretty reasonable to me.
  6. As with all things Cyma, some are better than others. The older ones (CM004 etc) are shocking.
  7. Given that 420 FPS on 0.2g = 1.63j then 0.36g at 1.63j gives you a max FPS on 0.36g of 313.02FPS
  8. There's a good FPS calculator here: http://www.asiaairsoft.com/index_topic.php?did=23&didpath=/23 Airsoft is rife with opinions both informed and otherwise. Mine are mostly based on trial and error and input from people whose opinions I trust. I am however always willing to be taught otherwise!
  9. I think the sales guy is on a better margin with KWA to be honest: Which basically translates to proprietary parts. Regardless, it has a quick change spring which is going to be a help once you start getting close to your target FPS! (which is what by the way?)
  10. You'd normally start a DMR build with something a bit longer so you don't have to rip it apart and buy more bits to get to where you want to be. Given that the QRF is a very CQB focussed platform it seems an odd choice. If you were dead set on KWA then this might have been a better option https://www.patrolbase.co.uk/kwa-ronin-tactical-t10-sbr-aeg-3-0?pv=16162 Or of course you've got any number of SR-25/MK12/M14 RIFs out there that all lend themselves nicely to being a DMR.
  11. Well, it's an odd place to start for a DMR, I'll give you that! I take it you mean outer barrel in which case, given that you're starting from SUCH a short barrel to begin with, go for a complete one.
  12. Krytac had issues with the receiver cracking around the rear body pin plus they have a number of proprietary parts. Microswitch triggers per se aren't a problem these days as long as they use a decent quality switch. As the gun you mention has a fancy programmable mosfet in it the microswitch won't be passing big current so it should be fine. Of course, being a proprietary mosfet (ie not an off the shelf unit from someone like Gate or Perun) then replacement options are limited if it goes pop.
  13. According to GHK it's a new design... Also, while I would assume that someone who worked on the film would know better, the detail focussed massive nerds over at IMFDB haven't mentioned G5s at all http://www.imfdb.org/wiki/Black_Widow_(2021) They do mention that some of the bad guys have Scorpion EVOs though...
  14. Different, yes. Better...eh...I'll get back to you on that!
  15. If you're new - watch this.

If you're not, watch it anyway and then go check out his other videos!

as with all things it's a balance.

good hardware allows you to leverage skill, it means all that effort getting into the right position, having a good aim etc isn't wasted because the gun doesn't shoot where you point it.

i do agree with his point that you don't need to be spending megabucks on hardware to get a passable level of performance, a cyma with a few key tweaks will do 80% of the job.

I absolutely agree but his main point is that a lot of noobs think the reason they're not hitting things is the gun when 90% of the time it's their lack of skill/awareness.

true, but it works both ways, you give a skilled player a nerf gun they might still be able to get kills, but nowhere near as many as they could if they had decent hardware. going exclusively down either route can only ever take you so far.

this is ofc if we're taking "skill" as excluding teching skill, as the basic knowledge of say not buying off-brand .12's for playing outdoors could also be regarded as part of skill and experience same as psychology, sneakiness etc.

  16. That's the same price that Gate are charging on their own webstore so they're not overcharging per se, I really don't see the point of the product though. You'd also need a BluLink compatible Mosfet for this to work (Aster or Titan).
  17. The Gemtech is available for about 60EUR (plus shipping of course), the mags are £10 each from Patrolbase.
  18. What he said! The spring in question is pretty generic.
  19. Honestly, if you're using 0.28 the flat hop, rhop, shop et al are probably not worth the effort. They're all designed to help lift heavy ammo at high FPS and originated among the bush wookie crowd. The Maple Leaf rubbers are way better value, especially when you consider that an shop or rhop will wear out REALLY quickly by comparison.
  20. Yep, I used to do a LOT of mountain biking (back in the good old days of tiny frames and long, whippy seat pins) then I got a job commissioning away from home a lot and eating in hotels. Put on a LOT of weight. Few years back I got sick of my face wobbling when I walked so I lost 4.5 stone (portion control and calorie counting, no exclusions). Then my Mum died and I fell right off the wagon. Then smashed it into firewood and burned it. Put on anxiety meds that have a reputation for hindering weight control, then Dad developed Alzheimer's so 3 stone back on now and starting back down the road of eating better. So far I've knocked most of the snacking on the head and a couple of pounds have shifted. Exercise is a bit limited because all those years of mountain bikes with clipless pedals with bugger all float have knackered my knees and decades of being sat at a desk or in a car have screwed my back (software engineer then sales). Still, I managed it before so I'll do it again. Weight loss is as much about mindset as it is about what you eat!
  21. Helical gears are a royal pain in the arse. IF you can get them shimmed right they are about as quiet as you'll get in an AEG, if not then they're the noisiest things on the planet!
  22. This. Also, worth looking at RRV style chest rigs (like the Warrior Assault 901 or similar). How much stuff do you want to carry?
  23. That's not really a clear coat as such. This stuff is WAY better https://www.amazon.co.uk/UPol-Power-Clear-Aerosol-500ml/dp/B009G1AU3Q/ref=asc_df_B009G1AU3Q/?tag=googshopuk-21&linkCode=df0&hvadid=310513207083&hvpos=&hvnetw=g&hvrand=18167941443832470321&hvpone=&hvptwo=&hvqmt=&hvdev=c&hvdvcmdl=&hvlocint=&hvlocphy=9045742&hvtargid=pla-564304882275&psc=1
