  1. Aluminium isn't great as a conductor and isn't going to stand up to much mechanical abuse in that application. Better to get a ring crimp like @Hudson suggested.
  2. The rifle Arnie uses in Predator is the exact same one used by Pacino in Scarface.
  3. ...and we don't have a governing body. Airsoft isn't a sport, it's a leisure activity.
  4. Nothing's changed. The rules always stated that that date referred to organised team sport which has always been defined previously as having a governing body.
  5. Given that there's a lot of farmland around Beggarwood it's entirely possible that there was no firearms issues and just someone complaining about too many people gathering (rightly so).
  6. As they're only rated the EN166F they're not actually rated high enough. The F rating is tested with a 0.86g steel ball at 45m/s which equates to 0.86J. Given that site limits are around 1.13 J (0.2g at 350FPS for an AEG, higher for DMR and BASR) you should be looking at an impact rating of EN 166B or an ANSI equivalent.
  7. It's entirely possible that your two points of comparison are leading you astray. Your Masada might well just have a particularly good seal, I have an M4 running an M85 spring that hits 325 fps quite happily. 306 does seem low but it may just be the best that gun can manage with the specific combination of parts you have. When you say the cylinder/piston/nozzle is airtight, how did you test it? Is the cylinder right for the barrel length?
  8. I noticed that too when I watched it but spent most of my time grinding my teeth at how badly that magnifier lines up with his red dot.
  9. +1 on the OPS covers. They're bloody good for the money!
  10. You'll be looking at around £300 for the lower and about another £250 for the upper for CNC billet receivers. The other problem you'll have is that very few companies make them for standard AEGs, they mostly cater for the GBB and PTW markets so none of your internals will fit. You could look at Retro Arms as I believe they do an AEG receiver set but then you'll still have compatibility issues because...Retro Arms. Weirdly, a lot of the plastic receivers out there are sturdier than the cheap cast alloy ones but if you want one that won't break the bank and should fit your Specna internals then take a look at the E&C sets (from @ak2m4 when he gets them in stock) as they are pretty good. I have a couple of builds with them on and they've been rock solid.
  11. Yeah, he isn't everyone's cup of tea! I met him in person at Red Alert and have been playing with him (oo-er) for a while. He's alright, just liked to wind people up on the internet (and sometimes took it a bit far). He's actually selling off most of his airsoft gear if you now anyone in the market for a tricked up SRS with a load of bits and bobs.
  12. Odd. It's an ASG M11 with 2 mags and a suppressor. From old site favourite @Duff in fact!
  13. +1 for AltaFlex pads. Before I moved to trousers with built in pads these were my go-to and they never ended up around my ankles. Top tip - try crossing the straps over in an X behind your knee.
  14. Do you mean this part? https://www.airsoftclub.gr/en/product/g3-selector-lever-2/
  15. Fair point. How is it for comfort? I'm thinking about getting one on account of my massive bonce.
  16. The manufacturer is usually moulded into the inside of the shell if it isn't on a label you can see. You'll probably need to get the liner out to find it.
  17. @Jacob Wright I think I've worked it out! It's a Strike Back custom! http://airsoftbuilds.com/images/weapons/1936220140306004107.jpg In Season 3 of Strike Back, Stonebridge used a custom shortened G3 with a South African style vented handguard. The charging handle sits right behind the front sight post which is how yours is. This was a custom made rifle done by the series armourer in South Africa (where it was filmed). You can just about see what I mean here: If you bought it from a user here then chances are it's the one that was built by another user @Samurai
  18. The GC16 range hasn't changed in a while whereas the Cyma stuff is much improved. They're still both cast pot metal bodies so I wouldn't be too hung up on that as has been mentioned, the G&G internals are fine, nothing fancy but pretty reliable (don't get anything with any suggestion of blowback though). Cyma gearboxes have generally been pretty good for a while and the newer ones with the mosfets and stuff seem to be quite well regarded. I doubt you'd go far wrong with either to be honest from a purely mechanical point of view. Aesthetically it depends on you really. The GC series have a lot of Magpul-esque furniture which is a bit rubbish and weird ergo grips (Warthog, Wildhog et al) but that really is all a bit "eye of the beholder". Don't get the GR4 G26 though. The front has a habit of falling off.
  19. The handguard is supposed to be "free floating" so there's not supposed to be anything bracing the barrel at the business end.
