My absolute favourite part is that the only things that might increase the value slightly are pictured but aren’t included. Superb effort.

I’ll spare the full run down unless someone actually wants it, but I officially think I’m ‘there’ in terms of my ideal kit. Took a lot of trial and error to get there, but extremely happy with where it’s ended up. Swapping between AK and AR is a simple case of changing placard on the chest rig.

This little puppy is back with me after some extensive work. Will likely swap out the B19 for a B19N at some point simply because I think they look nicer, and likely swap the grip/handstop to an RK-6. Will be adding paracord to the stock and I think it’s about there.

The entire thread is full of things folks have just bought, but they post their pictures of the items once they've arrived rather than screenshots from the website. You are the only person doing it, and it's not the first time it's been mentioned. Take a social cue, wait till whatever 'you've literally just bought' arrives and share some photos of it. No one is here to see stock images from websites fella, ease off and don't be so touchy.

Sounds like the sort of shite you'd read in an instagram story. '...but couldn’t find motivation. He decided to tend to a single tooth each evening.' So, what would you call the thing that made him floss the single tooth a day?

It's doesn't matter what phrase, saying or proverb you wrap it in, the drain you're circling around with this post is entirely attached to motivation. It's just highlighting that motivation doesn't have to focused toward a substantial change, which can make it seem like more effort is required to enact a change than you might think. You still need some sort of motivation to 'just show up', as you put it.

I agree that small changes can ultimately lead to larger ones, but you need the motivation to stick to things because the excuses for not doing them come far too easily without it.

In terms of my thoughts on the whole 'I'm struggling to find the motivation' thing, my honest opinion is to not bother wasting your time. If you're having to ask others for inspiration about something to get motivated by then whatever it is won't be enough to see a long term change come into effect. And that's not me trying to leave a broadsweeping 'just don't bother', but I've been there.

My motivation this time round is entirely based around myself and my partner family planning, and I don't want to be a slob of a Dad. My Dad was amazingly active when I was growing up, and I want to be able to do that for my kids. Before I changed my lifestyle I wasn't going to be able to be the parent I wanted to be. And that's some proper motivation, not this 'I want to look good for an upcoming holiday' bullshit. Not that it's particularly worth anything, but this was the first time I've changed my lifestyle for the better and had aesthetics be nothing to do with it. I just wanted to be fitter, though fortunately looking a bit nicer is a welcomed side effect.

Not intending to rain on any parades, but given the title of the thread it feels wise to say something. Losing that much weight in 2 weeks is extremely unhealthy. If it's giving you motivation to get healthier then use that, but please fix the balance between eating too much shit and simply not eating enough at all.

Generally speaking when you start any sort of weight loss plan you'll be losing more earlier on, but even considering that losing that much in 2 weeks rings alarm bells.

Mayo as hell so exceedingly boring, but very functional. Just had the NGRS back after a bit of work on the insides. Looking forward to giving it a run out in a few weeks time.

If you're running a tank and line whatever you go with I have a hard time not recommending a Billet series MTW. I've had two Billets and they've run great (both second hand), I picked up a Forged when they first came out because the quality of life changes seemed ace and I like having the 'proper' upper receiver. I can't recommend it though, not because I've had any issues thus far, just purely on the fact that Tier 3, Tier 4 and eventually lockdown happened so I haven't done any proper testing or played with it yet. I don't tend to give any recommendations/advice until I actually believe what I'm saying rather than allowing the 'hype' to overcome me.

Worth noting I have zero knowledge or experience regarding the Tippman, though I can tell you anecdotally that I've seen a fair few go from the Tippman to the MTW and at least in terms of performance the MTW seems to be seen as an upgrade. Take that as you will, as I say, anecdotal.

Biggest piece of advice would be to run an AEG with only 35 rounds (or something around that) loaded in the mags for a day to see how you get on with it. Obviously AEG ones will be significantly lighter, but the round count is generally a bigger deal to folks than the weight... though the weight increase is definitely worth considering.

That'll also give you a decent gauge of how many mags you think you'd want to run with the MWS, so gives you a more educated point to start from in terms of how much the RIF is going to cost you including the 'right' amount of mags for you.

In this hobby (I'd argue it extends past it, but we'll stick with this hobby for now), everyone is a prick in some way, shape or form. Make peace with it and move on.

The budget boys want to yell from the roof tops that they're keeping up for a third of the price (they aren't), the gucci gang think more expensive will always mean more good (it doesn't) and the folks that have a different RIF for every day of the week will question why you'd ever spend so much on one RIF when you could have bought 4 for that price (and never use any of them).

Everyone has their own view and, albeit intentionally tongue in cheek (which seems to have been entirely missed courtesy of the interpretation of typed text), folks with a differing view point tend to fall in the category of prick... so for every person that agrees with you, there are at least two categories of people that think you're a prick.

I guess my answer to the 'form or function' question is quite simply, both. And fortunately my personal preferences for what I like the look of line up with what I like the function of.
