*Tarkov music intensifies* Took my final delivery of ZenitCo bits from Russian this morning, small amount of filing on the mock gas tube and dishes are done. Taken months to get it all together, but I love this angry little bastard. (Tracer installed in PBS-1 for CQB)

It's common place enough at this point that I rarely even notice if folks are running around with camera equipment on, so I wouldn't overthink it. As for the potential of your son finding it embarrassing... well there's only one person that knows the answer to that so I dare say you should ask him.

Not so much a 'this is overpriced' as it is a 'it might be overpriced'... given how descriptive 'Fully upgraded internals done by a proper technician' but with no actual detail that means it's hard to tell. As is customary a word of advice for the seller, try listing what 'fully upgraded' actually means. Because as it stands you're looking to charge £80 more than one could be picked up brand new and entirely unfucked with, and there isn't much detail to justify why someone might do that.

Folds all the way round but takes a bit of force to get it to clip in and I'm not wanting to put anymore strain on that joint as is. Not a big deal for me because I don't ever fold it anyway, but if I was severely lacking space foldng it but not 'locking it in' is an option as is. Blisters on fingers from cinching it down aside, one day I'll remember to put some gloves on... but that wasn't today, I thoroughly enjoy paracording so I wouldn't be shocked if I do a fancier one at some point in the future. I'm off to spontaneous game down South (or at least down South from me) at the weekend and am a bit short on time so just wanted it done for now. Now the race is on to see which comes first, piss about with more paracord or cave and go full 'dragged through ZenitCo catalogue' and slap a PT of some sort on there. Time will tell I guess ?‍♂️.

Got the B18 to fit and finally got around to sorting the paracord on the stock. It could certainly be better, but it could equally certainly be worse. Have a B19N and RK-6 on their way from the Motherland, and a PBS-1 replica to throw a tracer in. Loving the build, but my wallet is very much looking forward to it being done.

I genuinely think it might have everything bar formerly being two-tone. Granted the only 'sin' in it formerly being two-tone would be to not mention it in the ad so it may well be a full house. Going into the detail of explaining that you killed the stock mosfet within 4 games and repalced it with the same mosfet is inspired, and we wrap it all up in a nice bunch of 'collection only'. What a specimen, every line is a whole new treat. Being honest the ad is actually extremely honest with plenty of information, it's just that all of that information would generally lead to the RIF being worth less than the RRP rather than twice it.

My absolute favourite part is that the only things that might increase the value slightly are pictured but aren’t included. Superb effort.

Couldn't wrap their head around the 'edit advert' tab to change the price there, had to mark the ad as complete and repost it. Rest assured if you decide to pick this RIF up you're in a safe pair of hands ?. The price is so wildly high that I'm not sure I can actually fathom the effort to give any actual advice to the seller, I dare say it'd be ignored anyway. But will say it's probably worth parking the sandbagging in the 'questions' section on the ad where it is. Yes everything said in there is valid, but we know the mods aren't a fan of it so you're only making extra work for them. The 3 existing posts should make it clear enough to anyone clicking on it that the asking price is extortionate. In here though? Sandbag away, it's been hard earned by this character.

The entire thread is full of things folks have just bought, but they post their pictures of the items once they've arrived rather than screenshots from the website. You are the only person doing it, and it's not the first time it's been mentioned. Take a social cue, wait till whatever 'you've literally just bought' arrives and share some photos of it. No one is here to see stock images from websites fella, ease off and don't be so touchy.

I’ll spare the full run down unless someone actually wants it, but I officially think I’m ‘there’ in terms of my ideal kit. Took a lot of trial and error to get there, but extremely happy with where it’s ended up. Swapping between AK and AR is a simple case of changing placard on the chest rig.

This little puppy is back with me after some extensive work. Will likely swap out the B19 for a B19N at some point simply because I think they look nicer, and likely swap the grip/handstop to an RK-6. Will be adding paracord to the stock and I think it’s about there.

Biggest piece of advice would be to run an AEG with only 35 rounds (or something around that) loaded in the mags for a day to see how you get on with it. Obviously AEG ones will be significantly lighter, but the round count is generally a bigger deal to folks than the weight... though the weight increase is definitely worth considering. That'll also give you a decent gauge of how many mags you think you'd want to run with the MWS, so gives you a more educated point to start from in terms of how much the RIF is going to cost you including the 'right' amount of mags for you.

Mayo as hell so exceedingly boring, but very functional. Just had the NGRS back after a bit of work on the insides. Looking forward to giving it a run out in a few weeks time.

Have you tried it spun around so the angle is forward facing at all? If it’s not for you, then it’s not for you but I find the BCM one the best by a mile personally… but only with the angle facing forward.

Nope, not at all implying it's a negative or stupid thing... not without evidence anyway. It's just a very Western approach to an predominantly Eastern dominanted market (at least to my knowledge). The only part we could ever really question would be the return on investment (ROI) of their various marketing activities, which I doubt we'll ever know... and truthfully any publicly available numbers wouldn't reveal much. I've never owned a KWA RIF to speak for their quality first hand, most of what of seen is fairly positive in terms of OOTB performance with the main critiques being 'on the pricey side' (with CYMA going from strength to strength this'll start to be applied to everything), stock hop buckings aren't great (with the exception of Marui this extends to pretty much everything) and proprietary part(s) (this is just the tappet plate if memory serves)... none of these are unique to KWA so perhaps their allocation to marketing is what they're doing to separate themselves from the pack so to speak. Is it working? ?‍♂️, fucked if I know. I guess the reason I say 'obscene marketing budget' is very much a comparitive statement when compared to other companies in the same market. Generally speaking marketing budgets are allocated per project when it comes to the usual 'manufacture goods, sell goods' model, and RRPs tend to be chosen based on the margin after combining those costs... so I'd say it's safe to assume the end user is covering a portion of those costs in some way/shape/form (again, not unique to KWA... KWA just do more with marketing so that portion wouid likely be higher). For reference of where this is all coming from, I design and develop board games for a living (on salary for a company, not as a freelancer) part of that job includes product development with some marketing input and juggling budgets etc. While aware there won't be an exact translation across markets I imagine it's much of a muchness, there's a pretty cookie cutter way businesses of a certain size are run these days. So yeah, not entirely plucking it out of my arse, I'm aware you didn't ask, but I figure some background might be useful to the conversation.

For sure, stockists get a sizeable amount of point of sale (PoS) material from KWA... stickers, patches all that sort of freebie merch stuff (limited edition clothing which is 'free' alongside a limited edition colourway of a RIF is a prime example). They seem to provide a lot of very highly quality images to stockists with online stores (I'd say this just in general, but especially compared to what others provide). And then we move to the sponsored content side of things and 'collabs' with content creators, KWA are very prevalent in terms of YouTube partnerships (or whatever they're called these days). They also produce a large amount of content themselves across their various social media platforms and put a lot of time and energy into their brand/branding. Ultimately it's all part of KWA being a US company, which means their marketing is all much more 'Westernised' compared to most other airsoft companies due to where the vast majority are based. I don't have a particular deep understanding when it comes to professional website building costs, but I know enough to summise their website certainly wouldn't have been cheap because it's at least making some attempts to take the customer on a 'journey' which is a very 'professional Western website-y' thing to do. Umarex very much lean into, hell some might argue entirely rely on, their licensed branding (HK plastered all over the packaging as you've highlighted) but I wouldn't say they put much into marketing it at all. But Umarex aren't an airsoft company per se, so it's perhaps an unfair comparison to make.

I'm not sure if I'm lost in a loop of piss taking or not (of which there is no better loop to get lost in), but my statement was aimed at KWA. I wouldn't be shocked if part of the premium you pay was at least in part to cover how obscene their marketing budget allocation is. Aaaaand to get us back on track, slapped the stretch panel on the AirLite rig in anticipation of getting my Krink back. The mags are also new, crossing my fingers that Cyma internals in E&L externals will do the trick.
