  1. This’ll be me done spamming the thread for now. Found a repro RC can while looking for something else so got that sprayed up as well (and modded a tracer to pop in there). Then looked at the MWS propped up against the wall and had a sudden ‘I guess I like what I like’ moment. Reject modernity, embrace tradition. Embrace both.
  2. Nah, it’s all on there it’s just in the ‘stowed’ position. Because the Unity mount sits so high their mag mount has room to stow beneath the optic rather than off to the side. Just keeps everything nice and streamlined. This is what it looks like flicked up ready to use.
  3. Had too much time to myself today for the first time in forever, got bored and gave the NGRS the same treatment as the MWS. Looking forward to it getting worn in, magnifier/mount not painted because I’ve barely used them since buying them so toying with selling and that’s a lot of ££ worth RS of mount that painting would hit the resale value of should I decide to.
  4. But at that point, why wouldn't you just crank the turrets so that point of reference is zero'd? Regarding holding zero, a lot of the clone shite out there struggles with it on GBBRs thus rendering the 'repeatable' part in the point of reference moot. Which is why the question marks around not caring about holding zero on something that was specifically put on a RIF for aiming with are coming from.
  5. I mean, anything you're using to aim with needs to hold zero or you won't be hitting whatever your aiming device of choice is aiming at? If you're using something to 'acquire a target' and you're shooting half a metre to the left of your laser mark, particularly large targets aside, you're missing. That aside, the biggest issue I've ever had with irons is eye/facepro making getting down on them much more of a pain than the 1.7"+ mounts that I'm now used to. There are certainly better and worse examples of irons, but they're all usable... especially if that's all you've ever used.
  6. Largely depends on where you find yourself playing in my experience. I've gone through the gambit of fully loaded belt through to it just being a holster and an AR mag carrier. The sweet spot for me landing somewhere between the latter... and the latter plus a pistol mag carrier. CQB with generally shorter game length I can see a belt being a winner, but found that much weight and bulk a no go for woodland where you're out for an extended period of time. Just a bit of a killer on the hips/waist. The front PC/chest rig mounted dump pouch has been a bit of a game changer for me of late, though I have toyed with slinging one back on the belt just to have the option to speed up stowing empties over reindexing everything. Tekloks have been much the same, having such a convenient way of attaching, detaching and moving things around just shits all over tradition PALS/MOLLE. As always comes the YMMV/all subjective/I hope your purchases are all you're dreaming for (I'm aware the last one may read with some weird snarky undertone, certainly not intended) but I strongly suspect you'll wind up having some mobility issues with a belt that laoded up. Namely being able to crouch comfortably, which obviously isn't an issue if you don't take a knee often... just food for though ahead of a proper test out in the wild!
  7. The last one I claimed? I’m an awful shot so the poor fucker has been trapped in there for a while ?.
  8. One from a few weeks back when I was running a chest rig for the first time in forever, certainly not helped by the fact I forgot to put ranger plates back on the mags. Forgot how tight those mags sit in the AVS panel, though the AirLite is undoubtedly comfy I found myself missing the structure of my PC.
  9. Few photos from the Shift Your Rifts event on Saturday. Truthfully the gameplay itself was a bit wank for my tastes granted Redcon is far from my favourite site, but it was nice to catch up with friends and give the MWS its first run out in a while. What is very much ‘the usual’ nowadays, got some new eyepro on the way as mesh is giving headaches when worn for an extended period of time (or at least that’s as best as I can deduce).
  10. Chopped and changed a lot over the last year or so, but I strongly suspect this’ll be my MWS from here on out. Only thing I’ll be changing is the Aimpoint mount to something a bit more fit for purpose. Internally just had the standard Supernub and HSB, have an npas to sling in at some point.
  11. The brassy/gold finish to the mounting brackets on the trigger would tell me it's probably a very early Springer Custom trigger (what spec exactly I have zero idea, they're just the only one I know of that finish the mounts with that colouring/material/finish). Equally as much trying to piece it togther, the signature might suggest Dan (fka 'Sniper Mechanic') may have done some work on it, I know he;s been a fan of the Springer Custom triggers for a long time so I'm purely putting 2 and 2 together with a partially educated guess... whether that gives you 4 I couldn't say for sure. Might be worth reaching out to Dan on the off chance he recognises it, I've hyperlinked his Instagram earlier in this reply as that tends to be the best place to get him. As for the heavy pull, chances are it's just a juicy spring to get the power up, we haven't always been so fortunate with the likes of the Rapax springs etc. As @rocketdogbert says, without further details it's hard to give much of an appraisal outside of a boneyard. Hopefully some of the information I've given can assist in getting a more accurate spec sheet leading to an accurate valuation.
  12. What seems to be the natural evolution of the fabled ‘Blood Diamond carbine’, the Gordy carbine. The MWS has never looked so good. (I know the grip isn’t accurate, I value my wrists more than I do any degree of ‘clone accuracy’!)
  13. At the risk of suggesting something so stupid and obvious, have you contacted the place you picked it up from? While aware repairs may well not be/likely won’t be free/covered by any store warranty fingers crossed the issue can be properly diagnosed and amended. Not to discredit what anyone is saying, but from what I gather you’ve had a few stabs at it yourself and the results haven’t worked out for whatever reason. Definition of insanity as credited to Einstein etc etc. At the very least it saves your having to source parts.
  14. I’d probably give gluing the nut in a place a shot before spending out for a new lower. Slap some JB Weld (or whatever your super strong choice of swaz may be) on the edges of the nut which contact the notch, then feed the grip on slightly and start threading the bolt on. This should ensure you’re lined up, once the adhesive has cured pop the grip all the way on and see how happy you are. Obviously you could just slap a heap of glue on the lot and slam the grip all the way on, but I suspect that grip is essentially a permanent addition at that point.
  15. This is largely what I’ve run for the last few months, can’t see it changing any time soon. I generally prefer my RG UF Pros across the board to the M81 Cryes… but M81 is M81.
  16. I've had ranging from the 500 mark up to perhaps 3000ish, having gone through probably 4 of them. Too wide a range without enough of a sample size to present anything other than anecdotal evidence, but at £13-15 a pop I just never felt like I was getting great value out of what is ultimately a consumable part.
  17. Aye, performance has never been an issue with the Modify tans. The durability on the other hand… for a bucking as costly as they are I struggle to justify how long they survive on average.
  18. I have no first hand experience but I know through a combination of anecdotal evidence from friends that G&P parts are usually a great fit without the need for dicking about. An example of said evidence can be found here. Though no longer actively taking part in the hobby Rob ahs a lot of experience with the MWS and the variety of good and not so good replica parts to go on them so his word is pretty reliable. While not the SPR kit the MRE kit is similar in terms of included components. The standout quote from the article being: 'The build has been fairly straightforward other than going on a G&P part number odyssey to try and track down some of these older parts. Speaking of G&P, overall their parts have fitted the MWS with no issues whatsoever and I would wholeheartedly reccomend any of their products that I have used.' Not a first hand account, and as always to be taken with a pinch of salt as QC in airsoft is such a mixed bag... but hopefully somewhat useful nonetheless.
  19. As I'm sure you can imagine, very jealous of the Ferro one. Superb haul bud, hope you had a great time!
  20. Picked up the KTAR front flap for some added security with MWS mags, landed some sweet Shot Show goodies in the process.
  21. Quick maths says a 250mm stock barrel sits fairly flush with the 10.5" CQBR outer barrel, so you'll be looking at the 275mm range for the inner if you're adding an inch to the outer and want the inner 'flush'.
  22. Haha, it's about time they had something useful in stock ?.
  23. For those that have been struggling to find Gun Sav, you're welcome. (Note, price is excluding VAT which is added at checkout.)
  24. Had my first game of the year yesterday at Coms Site 3. It was... fine? First game and a half I was dicking around with my TAC getting everything tuned in properly and had a few nice shots. Ultimately landed on want to be a bit more active (and the 'suspect sportsmanship' was catching like wildfire... more on that later) so swapped over to the MWS. Or at least had planned to, it wasn't enjoying the temperature much so I dipped back into the boot and begrudgingly dragged the NGRS out for the rest of the day. Not sure why it was begrudgingly mind, always performs really well and is yet to let me down but alas, it wasn't my first pick. I am not, and hope to never be one for cheat calling or getting riled by supposed cheats. I've been playing far too long for it to bother me much at this point, but ohh boy was a this a day for allegations. Allegations from all over the place which ultimately led to a pretty hostile atmosphere from both sides and put a bit of a dampner on the day. Nevertheless I managed to sneak (read as, charge straight at without them noticing me) behind a chap taking cover behind a barricade and have a rare 'ok, so where is the most humane place to shoot this poor sod' moments (said poor sod had 4-5 folks moaning he wasn't taking their hit, can confirm they took that one). Definitely a personal highlight. Always nice to give new kit a run out, never been a big fan of UBACS so gave the Velocity rugby shirt a go. Definitely glad I picked up two, I imagine I'll be getting some more.
